On what basis would they take legal action considering the PL craftily never actually rejected the bid? Taking 4 months to do a 1 month process could easily constitute as being wilfully negligent. Not when there isn't a set time frame. Then they'd claim difficulties due to COVID-19, Project Restart etc. I have no legal knowledge at all but I can't see that there's anything to throw at them. They have already said that the pandemic and project restart did not affect the takeover process. Even if it did, they have publicly said it didn’t, and that would be used against them. The buyers will no doubt have stacks of evidence to show that the process was going ahead as planned and that they cooperated and fulfilled the obligations. They never rejected it though. They could easily say, as has been suggested by GM, "Oh, we were just about to approve it when you withdrew from the bid" I have every confidence that the PL have covered their arses well and truly.

I think it's over. There'll be some noises for a few days, maybe a couple of weeks but then it'll just drift away. The PL didn't actually make a decision and there's no time frame in the O&D test so I can't see what people could level at them. Who knew that when we thought they wanted it legally water tight, it was to cover their own arses for when they allowed it to drift on indefinitely

By performing, 17th is deemed performing at MAFC Aye but in a premier league second season, that's a real challenge for Steve Bruce.

He's probably been sitting back coasting for months, assuming he'd probably be out of a job soon enough. Tonight, he has the realisation that next season, he will actually have to perform to keep his job.

Sorry for the loss of your wife's Nana but that is a very random guest to have turn up. You talk to him?

I think I'm inclined to believe Amanda Staveley. The only think niggling me about GM's source is that because they are from the LMA, they are part of the game's authorities. They are surely never going to actively blame the PL and it therefore seems to make a little sense to me that they'd choose to deflect the blame to MA. The problem with this is that it's perfectly believable for MA to have done what has been suggested.

You stand alone I think.

Be interesting to know how this will affect the morale of the players as they may have been assuming that better days might be ahead. Can't see ASM wanting to hang around for much longer.

Nope - was the drop dead date mate that killed it. That's what expired imho. The exclusivity wasn't going to be a problem in week 1 when they had 16 weeks to get it closed. But the league allowed for this to happen showing no urgency and allowing a lunatic like MA the chance to find a way to sell to someone else. If it's true that all communication had to go through NUFC, surely that gave MA perfect chance to delay things massively, all the while trying to negotiate with someone else ? What a system if thats the case
