I got this email from a north east activity company who promote “what’s on” and that. Tonight at 9.30pm, they’re live streaming a light show from the quayside. They’re beyond weird man. Have a rest from it all, it’s summer. They need to fill the void of not being Geordie for a few weeks. Absolutely lifting man. All for the new shirt I imagine?

    Broken

Probably as many there as they get at home games.

We may have won nothing in what feels like forever, but could you imagine a kit reveal of similar stature for Sunderland?

    I'm struggling tbh.

Who would it feature, where would it be shot, what memories would they hark back to?

We celebrate the region, and more specifically our club. We embrace the love we all have for the place, musicians and artists write songs about their affinity or memories of the place.

I just don't get that same civic pride when I think of Sunderland, could be wrong mind but other than vaux and ship building I've got nowt else

Undoubtedly any memories would centre heavily around beating the mags.

In fairness Robinson has St Mirren playing very well with a 5th place finish and in to Europe. Still, I imagine it’ll be an underwhelming appointment

I keep a close eye on St Mirren and have been doing a few games a season for years...when there's no toon game of course. I agree he's done well. Managed top league, top 6 finishes for the 1st time in decades in the last 2 seasons but i would argue they should have done better. Got a habit of losing to struggling sides like Ross County and St Johnstone etc. He'll do nowt in the championship.

36 pages on our `meltdown` SMB so appropriate

Best result they've had all season yesterday. Meanwhile I've got Ross Co v Raith play off game on. Saltire in one corner of the ground with a Sunderland crest on one side and Raith on the other. Raith 4-1 down so the owner won't be so happy today.

  5. Watched most of the Scottish championship play off between Raith and Partick. Raith at home and 2-1 up after the 1st leg. Partick won 2-1 last night and went to pens after ET. Raith missed the 1st pen but eventually won the shoot out. I'm  sure Partick lost the play off last season too. They missed good chances in normal time and their keeper was either mm away or got a hand on all Raiths pens too. Enjoyable game unless you're a Partick fan.

  6. Seems like the re-match with Easington, after the heated play off is one most are looking forward to. As well as trips to far flung and exotic places like Guisborough, Penrith, Kendal, even Carlisle.

Looks like Newcastle Blue Star have been promoted to division one even though they lost the play offs.

Even a chance of FA cup ties being played in Scotswood.

Seen that. Great film and very upbeat.

However, can't beat Marvelous for that.

Think that was suggested viewing when I turned Bromley Boys off. Next on my list I think.

  9. Stumbled across a film on prime called "Bromley Boys" about a young lad who against his fathers (Alan Davies) wishes is into football in 1969. Sits at the family meal table saying why can't I be a West Ham fan, or Tottenham's only an hour away on the train. His mother (Martine McCutcheon) says what about that little team down the road? Bromley. Only watched about 20 mins so far but looks ok. Fanatical about Bromley who were bottom of the Isthmuan league at the time.

Sounds like there was abit bother with the locals and the Easington lot

Adam pearson getting abused by a load of mackem kids as well

Serves blue star right getting beat Inviting that little grifter there

There was a group of younguns there with their easington FTM flag with safc crest on singing stand up if you hate the mags etc. Young lass running the line complained about abuse from them and the game was held up for about 15 mins. Then there was a rumour one of them had a knife and one or 2 blue star officials challenged them. Turns out it was a comb with a knife like handle. Did look like a knife at 1st glance. Seemed like something happened after the 1st goal but couldn't see from where I was. A further hold up. Easington were the better team I'm sad to say. Try again next season.

Blue Star who play in the League below North Shields are letting people either pay cash or card tonight, or even allowing people to buy tickets online and scan your phone at the turnstile.

Bairns get in for nowt too. U16 I think but might be worth checking the age restriction. Should be a big crowd tonight. Setting off shortly.

Wow! Don't know who's more embarrassed, players or fans. Things can only get better playing in the background ?. TBH can't blame the fans for turning on them but they're the same ones happy to give it "Sunland til i die" when things are going better.

  14. Just one win/3 draws leaves Chelsea needing 3 wins out of 4 to finish above us. Big pressure. Can't see W Ham catching us. Man U? Who knows but a euro place is certainly there for the taking.

Class @Infatuation Junkie, my cold hands are still recovering.

Huge fan of the managers offering each other outside at HT as they walked off too. Probably the kick up the arse Stan needed tbf.

Blue Star seem to do great work for the youth in the West End mind. My cousins kids play in their unders teams and they had Big Joe at their awards night midweek. Be daft to sour that sort of stuff.

Aye, they do have loads of young teams which should stand them in good stead for the future.

  16. Before Blue Star came back to existence I spent a few years going to and enjoying Dunston games. Blue Star came back so felt like I should follow my local non league team so been going to Scotswood a fair bit. Play off home to Horden tomorrow night and dunno if any other oldies remember "Keegans hot dogs"? but they've got a van there  tomorrow with a livery with KK and red number 7s on it. It is Keegans hot dogs after all. Id post a pic if i wasn't so un tech savvy. There was a post in the Blue Star WhatsApp group today where someone said "We are Blue Star not NUFC and anything to do with NUFC should be banned from the club". Surely not wise to alienate fans of both? They run out to local hero, owner and top goalscorer been away to watch the toon in Europe this season. Guess there's always one but it's never felt as welcoming as Dunston.

Just read Wrexham have plans to eventually get their capacity to 55000. We really should try get near 70000. 60000 is probably ok on the current site but any plans for a new stadium should try get 70-75000 people in.

Would be surprised, amazed even if they could do that at their current site.

Spurs have got sheff United left to play as well

Zero chance we come above them. Hopefully they beat Chelsea and do us a huge favour tomorrow

Aye, I'd probably be happier with a Spurs win tomorrow because keeping Chelsea at bay improves our great chance of finishing 6th/7th and gaining a euro place of some sort, while a 5th place finish is a long shot.

That Tory cunt MP who was chairman at Luton was desperate to turn his on.  Those things killed 97 people at Hillsborough - scary to imagine how that day could have been worse, but I reckon electrified fences would be one way it could have been.

Think the Luton bloke tried to bring in ID cards for fans too. Knee jerk reactions after a bad night when Millwall fans stormed their pitch and smashed half of Kenilworth Road up, mid 80s.
