  1. I'd disagree, considering the bloke gets abuse on Twitter and match threads are constantly filled with 'fuck off Jonas' type rantings, people seem to have difficulty grasping the differences between a player lacking in ability and a bloke being a massive cunt because the manager has dared pick him.
  2. Whatever people say, he's still a lovely bloke and a credit to the side. Not bad as a backup CM either, especially as part of a midfield three. Some of the hatred he gets on here seems way over the top.
  3. Massively underrated player, would definitely take him at the club for a fee between say £2m-£5m on half decent wages. And whisper it; he can take a decent corner.
  4. I'd disagree, there was a large amount of our play which came from a rather direct style. I lost count of the times we went direct to Cisse and he was unable to bring anyone else into the game. Likewise the amount of early hit diagonal crosses into the box seemed incredible considering how little success we had from them. If with better players in the side we get it down and play then fantastic; I'm just not holding my breath.
  5. Given how ineffective we've looks since Ba left and how reliant Pardew is on a relatively direct style I think Gomis is the number one priority (even if Remy is a better overall player) so without him I think there's a chance we may still struggle. Would be just bizarre if we signed Remy and Bent yet still kept playing it long and direct from Krul.

    Loïc Remy

Sounds to me like Redknapp pressed the clueless panic button. Sure the club's owner enjoyed that.
  7. Was rumours he'd be joining St. Mirren last I heard. Anywhere in league football is better than reserve team at least. Well, as long as he actually get games...
  8. Stewart Downing and James Milner are both quality Premier League footballers.
  9. Where the hell is that awful Inman article from? It's not 'squeezing' cash out, the player was offered a written contract equal to or higher than his current, which he has in turn rejected and decided he wants to move on. As with the transfer rules, they owe us compensation. How is that a PR wobble ffs?!
  10. Insane amount they want for a player with a year left. Don't blame them for baulking at that price if we do actually have other options like Remy.
  11. Problem with him is that whilst he's committed he's totally brain dead as a footballer. All for committed players who maybe aren't fantastic footballers (see Jonas) but not when they come across as mindless as Bardsley. Either way, not really the sort of player we should be looking at, but it is quite worrying how close we are to the cut-off point for home-grown players. Is it 8 from 25? Luckily Krul counts as one. Maybe a half decent English signing (see Ince or Sinclair) would be a wise idea.
  12. Well they've made it publicly clear that they want to shift him, nothing wrong with playing a bit of hard-ball in that scenario.

Harry with his fantastic history of bringing through young players. Like Kanu. Or when he tried to sell Bale to Birmingham. ferdinand, lampard, carrick, cole Shhhhhhh he wasn't looking as far back as The Hammers Ah yes, because what he did over fifteen years ago is more relevant than what he's done in all the time since then. In fairness though I did say history so bigger fool me.

He's a fan just like the rest of us. Like us he's worried that behind the scenes is a joke and because of it we're going to struggle to sign anyone with a decent reputation and increase the quality at the club.
  16. Tom Ince will be so impressed by our wonderful team he'll switch sides at half time. Or just get booted up in the air by Tiote and hate us forever.
  17. Didn't quite work out like that at Spurs mind.
  18. Has seemingly slipped back in the full back pecking order behind Dummett.
  19. If we'd won you'd be more annoying. That's about it. Whereas you stay equally annoying no matter what happens. How do you know? I barely posted before Ashley ruined NUFC. I don't mind you at all Ronaldo, I just sometimes wish everything wasn't so unendingly cynical and hyper-depressing. Nothing personal. Have to agree with this. Nothing to gain from all the doom and gloom really. Never going to get enough of a backing to change Ashley's mind, especially online. Think I'm set to support us through thick and thin, put as little money into the club as I can and just have a good moan about things after poor performances. Would really like to say we shouldn't be getting on the players backs, but lost count of how many times I swore when Tiote got the ball tonight.
  20. Looked quite effective in the middle tonight. Played one lovely ball to Santon to set him clear down the left too.
  21. Staggering how many of our moves break down when he gets the ball either through poor decisions or horrendous technique. How has the player of a couple of seasons ago become this? Even in a bloody pre-season game.
  22. Every time I see this thread bumped I think it's because he's off to PSG...
  23. Absolutely right. A few crosses apart, he's not really done enough at Newcastle to warrant forcing his way into the first team. Another decent spell at Brum should give him valuable experience rather than the odd 10 minutes here and there he'd get here.
