Could see us going in for Carroll as Pards seems to enjoy our keepers hoofing the ball down field. I actually think him and Cisse could work as their strengths should complement each other, albeit it I've yet to see Cisse play well as part of a front two.

Whatever it is you're drinking, I don't want any.

Genius. Got me out of this foul mood at least

Fucking gutless way to set up a side. Absolute fucking joke. Quick, pass it back to Elliott so he can hoof it long, we lose the second ball and City attack again. Most clueless inept tactic I've ever seen in my life. God forbid the poor bastards who paid to go and watch this tripe.

Just not rated at all by the British press it seems. See him as a bit of a thicko who is a poor man's John Terry. Think Louise Taylor rates him (Guardian writer) and some of the North-East lot, but think he's seen as a bit of a joke by a lot of the rest. Suits us, but very harsh on him. Has always given his all (remember him hobbling up to take that penalty for England U21s) when asked so deserves a bit more than being forgotten behind players like Lescott and Shawcross.

Cheaper than buying a gold statue of him?

Please tell me you're just on the wind-up? Surely right? Just because Colo doesn't publicly contact one of our players via Twitter means he doesn't care? So the fact that behind closed doors he may have rung the player up and been speaking to him for nine hours straight DEFINITELY hasn't happened because it's not in the public domain? I just don't understand how people who support our club can't grasp the fact that things happen which aren't done in full view of the public. It's like people who were calling for Xisco to be given a chance when for all we knew he'd stunk up every single training session he'd ever been at. Likewise that Colo is faking an injury, hates the club and has shafted us good and proper. For all we know, his wife could be dying, he's suspended his salary and has streamed every single Newcastle game, wanking in front of the screen when Santon drilled in that right-footer. For once, can we give players at our club the benefit of any doubt?
-
From his first few games really had high hopes for this kid, what he's said since only emphasises that. So thankful his injury isn't as bad as was feared. When I first saw the replay I honestly thought it was a career ender.

This thread seem to be filled with either a bunch of sensitive souls or conspiracy theorists. We still don't know the actual story behind it all, so why not wait until the truth comes out?
-
Could this be taken to criminal court instead then? Someone watching TV like that guy who 'reported' Terry for the racist remark? Surely it's pretty close to GBH no? Absolutely ridiculous decision from the FA. Embarrassing beyond belief.
-
A bit ridiculous how he's been overlooked despite another withdrawal, happy though as knowing our luck he'd have gotten injured against San Marino.

Chairman in defending own player shocker. Don't really know what people expected him to say? "We pay his wages, but what he did was reprehensible. We'll be taking away his pocket money and his mother has been called."
-
Do love Marveaux as a player but has a nasty habit of drifting in and out of games he needs to sort out. Looked like the only player for us tonight with that little but extra and no surprise the assist came from him.
-
How dare you overachieve! Just think, we gave you Jason Roberts AND Noel Hunt and you fail to secure Premier League football?!
-
Can't really resent someone for what idiots want to pay him. Good luck to the lad.
-
Very quiet game for him last night. Lot of strong players in the Anzhi team meant he couldn't work his way through them like he has done in our last few games.
-
Great result that. Well defended, especially MYM and Perch.

Have to say a lot of rot in that. Yes the board should take the majority of the blame as if they were going to be that trigger happy they should never have hired Di Matteo in the first place (which in all honesty, they clearly never really wanted to). But Benitez walked in there with his eyes open. No way any other manager would go into the club and be greeted by boos and hostility - Benitez is so hated because of his time at Liverpool and what he said about Chelsea and the clubs fans when he was there. If they'd appointed near enough anyone else, they may have had a couple of protests at Di Matteo, but it'd be long forgotten now. Why are they a vile club? They're not really that much different to any other club, except they had someone with money come in who wasn't a fraud (Birmingham, Portsmouth) or happy to press a self-destruct button every other year until he figured out a decent strategy (Ashley). Every club has absolutely moronic fans and sadly the more success a club experiences the more fans have. Yeah Chelsea have a few repulsive players, but we've not exactly had some saints in our recent past (Barton, Bowyer, Carroll, Ranger etc). Anyway, have to say what I REALLY bloody hate about Benitez is the fact he's got an excuse for absolutely everything and nothing is ever his fault.

I know, poor guy taking massive wages to take over the European Champions. Fans are idiots but only a bigger one wouldn't realise what he's said in the past would come back to haunt him.
-
Post-Ba with the new and uninjured players we have now yeah.
-
Despite the amazing attacking talent we're potentially going to have when HBA is fit, really get the feeling only when he's not in the side will we really notice what he brings. Think he does a thankless task sometimes with the amount of work he does on the back-foot, but agree from an attacking sense he's nowhere near the player he was a couple of seasons back.

Downing has finally come full circle and is underrated again. Despite that ridiculous transfer fee.
