  1. A white box looks better than the top half all in white http://img213.imageshack.us/img213/1141/newcastleunitedmatchwor.jpg
  2. Does anyone know if a DVD will be released of last season?
  3. What's happening with the Shearer statue that was meant to be erected outside the Gallowgate stand??
  4. Only became a fan since the aged of 14?!? What the hell were you doing in the years previous?! Coinsided with the time we were back in the top flight and one of the better teams! I'm 27 and have been going to games since the 87/88 season. I have seen the s***! I'm not a Geordie and not from Newcastle. Does that give you a clue? Actually became a fan during the promotion season (admittedly it was the black and white stripes, and a female interest that swayed me at the time). Hey if I was a glory hunter, I would have walked long ago Fair enough mate

    Alan Smith

Is it just me that feels that if we win a trophy, and Smith lifts it as captain, the gloss will be slightly taken off as it's him with a stupid haircut as captain?
  7. Decent enough game. Classic Ferdinand - Shearer combination for Big Al's second. Beardsley scored a classic as well, jinking his way into the box.
  8. It is simply that the small and medium sizes had the badge over two stripes (shirt 2) and the large and extra large had the badge over the one stripe (shirt 1). Both are real. A similar thing happened with the asics strips the two years before.

    Players in public

Last night I went to see the Bourne Ultimatum at the gate (class movie btw) and I saw our two fave clowns - Fatty Pattison and Edgar (are they a couple?) and also Joey Barton with a fellow scouser mate and a gorgeous lass. Barton didn't seem to acknowledge his team mates
  10. That has to be the least complimentary picture of Alan Shearer

    Players in public

I was sitting in Starbucks on Grainger Street on Sunday afternoon when in walked David Rozehnal and his pregnant wife. Very tall and slim and sporting his brand new diesel jeans and trainers.
  12. I would have thought Fulham would be one of the last places Zig Zag would go to anyway
  13. Why wasn't our home kit based on the Marseille template?!? Looks much better! I've said it before, and I'll say it again but our home kit is the worst it's ever been. Still bought it though as I have to wear the current kit to the match but I'll be glad when its replaced in 2009. I fold in my collar cos it's just pointless!

    nufc.com

The crazy thing is, the very first review, 88/89 was when we were relegated. Watch that for some truely awful defending Even sunderland brought one out the year they got relegated! Our season wasn't as bad as that!

    nufc.com

I wanted to set a new thread up for this but .com have said there will be no season review dvd for 06/07. I know it was a s*** season and all that but I would have still bought the dvd. All other clubs are producing one. Bit of shame there won't be one for NUFC. It'll end up being the gap in the collection with the 4th place finish, FA Cup winners review of 07/08
  16. It does make you feel sick and shudder doesn't it? I can't wait untill we beat them again this season. Umbro have come from nowhere to design a lot of shirts again for next season.
  17. I think I might next look at 10am on Friday if it's gonna be a slow process like this. Must say, it's looking pretty good so far. Then again, so did the home strip when we saw the shorts and socks first
  18. "Is he gonna have a crack? He is you know! Oh I say! Brilliant! That is schoolboys own stuff"
  19. "What a ball there by Hibbert! And away goes MacDonald again! And THAT'S A MAGNIFICANT GOAL! That is number two and that is a killer goal!" "Carr saves it, and Carr saves it again! What a remarkable double save by Kevin Carr! May well the crowd applause. Waddle. Beardsley. This is a good move developing. McDermott and back for Keegan and Keegan has scored! What a turnaround!"
  20. I think adidas have lost the plot when it comes round to stripes on strips. It's either not enough (nufc) or far too many (ac milan). Check out Argentina: <a href="http://tinypic.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://i8.tinypic.com/6cq5law.jpg" border="0" alt="Image and video hosting by TinyPic"></a>
  21. A couple of new AC Milan strips floating around: <a href="http://tinypic.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://i13.tinypic.com/4tf4n6p.jpg" border="0" alt="Image and video hosting by TinyPic"></a> <a href="http://tinypic.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://i13.tinypic.com/6c6iuj8.gif" border="0" alt="Image and video hosting by TinyPic"></a>
  22. Sunderland's new home kit: <a href="http://tinypic.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://i7.tinypic.com/4yqoy0j.jpg" border="0" alt="Image and video hosting by TinyPic"></a>
  23. What I dont like nowadays is that there seems to be a set template for each manufacturer. Take a look at the AC Milan kit: <a href="http://tinypic.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://i10.tinypic.com/4mn6637.jpg" border="0" alt="Image and video hosting by TinyPic"></a> More or less the same as our one. The first two adidas kits for us were specifically designed for nufc. The Grandad collar was back to the twenties with even the away strip being based on our very first kit in the 1890's. The following strip was based on the late sixties, early seventies. Nowadays, it’s the current adidas model with just the colours being changed.
