  1. In all seriousness, though, does he really have stake in Umbro? Could this possibly lead to an end to our sponsorship deal with Adidas and a move to Umbro kits? I hope not.
  2. I couldn't agree more, and couldn't have said it better. Ditto.

  4. It was reported last week that Shepherd allocated £20 million for transfers. I can't remember where the link is now, though.

    Want Diouf?

He might be controversial, but he's a good player. Let's be honest, a good player who wants to play under Allardyce and would be happy coming to Newcastle is better than the options we have now.
  6. I'd be surprised to see a 3rd strip. Isn't that the kind of thing your supposed to do only if you make Europe? There's no need for us to have one next year.
  7. Sudbury, Ontario, Canada. Oh, and I object to Canada being grouped with USA in the poll!
  8. The point of his article aside, I can't believe this guy is a professional writer. The grammar is horrible.
  9. Given's new keeper jersey has yellow in it. I think this is fake, but I'm worried that our away may end up being that colour.

  11. Butt is my new hero. All this news coming out of the club in the past few days are things I had assumed were happening, but hadn't been confirmed. I agree with these sentiments that anyone who is not 100% committed, should be shown the door. I want a winning attitude at St. James' Park next year. Good on Butt.
  12. Are we making too much of him not publically saying anything, perhaps? Has Owen ever been one to speak out to the press and get involved in all the wheelings and dealings? Maybe he has and I just haven't noticed. But, yeah, I agree with the above sentiments. I won't be terribly sad if he goes, but will be glad all the same if he stays. I'm amazingly indifferent, considering he's such a world class player. But with the exception of Given, Milner and Martins, I pretty well feel the exact same about everyone else on the squad at this moment.
  13. He has a huge game next weekend, and he's playing a team that needed a result to survive. There was too much a risk of injury to play this game hard. I think he did the right thing, and as I said in another thread, I have a soft spot for Sheffield United.
  14. I was going to write that Owen would wake up from his concussion and forget that he played for Newcastle, but I think he had already forgotten that before he went down.
  15. I care, tbh. This game summed up a horrible year.
  16. Give me a f*cking break. I mean, I didn't care, as long as we won.
  17. This relegation battle is more excited than it was billed to be. Very nice.
  18. Is anyone else watching the Sheffield / Wigan match. There was a nasty collission when Sheffield scored their goal.
  19. Another question: was that honestly our first shot of the match? I'm following on the ESPN matchtracker and that's the first they've shown.
  20. I was emphasizing that they were separate points from the article. I went a little over board.
  21. The only way for Sheffield to guarantee they stay up is to win, and they're at home. I don't see Warnock getting his team to lose intentionally in front of a stadium full of fans singing Greasy Chip Butty at the top of thier lungs. And yes, I have just shown that I have a huge soft spot for Sheffield United.
  22. http://icnewcastle.icnetwork.co.uk/newcastleunited/sundaysun/tm_headline=europe-s-a-must%26method=full%26objectid=19096202%26siteid=50081-name_page.html Here are what I thought were interesting highlights from the article linked above: - “The first job for the new manager is to get Newcastle back into the top six in the Premiership and to make sure that the club is playing regularly in Europe. That is the minimum we expect,” said Shepherd. - Shepherd, who will give Allardyce a four-year contract worth £10 million and a £20 million transfer kitty, reflected sadly on Roeder’s departure. - Allardyce has already begun the process of forming a new backroom staff and identifying players he would like to bring to Tyneside, with an unnamed French youngster set to arrive and Aston Villa defender Jlloyd Samuel a possible target.
  23. It remember reading somewhere in the press that Milner might have had a bad patch with Roeder. So, he might fit into this category of someone who would have left sooner rather than later under Roeder. I hope that he stays and improves under Allardyce, and gets a lot of first team football next year, because he deserves it.
  24. He hasn't scored for a while though. This means he's s***. What has he done for us lately, then? I get it now! We'd better sell him fast.
