What’s happened to Piatek after those first 6 months at Milan?

PSG aside French football is going to be absolutely shafted for the next few years.

Fair point but knowing everyone on that pitch with you has tested negative must be fairly reassuring still. A lot more reassuring than a lot of workers who will be coming into contact with dozens of strangers on a daily basis. If they don't come back next month then I reckon that means it's finished for a long time. As the situation will be no different in September for example with no vaccine. The game would implode if it was away for a year or more it's just not sustainable. That's why it has to come back and it will in the next 4 weeks or so yeah i agree, at some point we're either going to have to accept that there's a risk and do what is necessary to mitigate it or lockdown until there's a vaccine (which isn't practicable) if i was being tested multiple times a week and knew the others players and staff involved all were (down to everyone, bus drivers, cleaners, cooks whoever) then i'd personally consider the risk acceptable And as soon as one person tests positive? Isolate and trace no? Just like real countries are doing for normal people. Just a shame they would've been unable to follow government guidelines when it comes to safe working practice in the first place.

Is it safe though if you're knowingly competing against and with players who have been in contact with people who have tested positive like the 3 Brighton players from last week and I'm sure there will be more staff/players who test positive over the next few weeks. Money is the sole reason they're being asked to play again, is the government going to ask multi-millionaire Pop Stars or Actors to play a concert or go back on set to raise morale. What happens if a West Ham player catches it a week before a relegation decider?

Yet half a hour ago he’s saying this.

The general apathy I've felt with football in general has definitely contributed to me posting less, it's unfortunate that apathy has lasted since 2009 aside from the NFL thread. HTT even seems to have found his way there in the form of Shak.

Probably still paying for Tore Andre Flo

Bob Moncur worked well last time.

Just got to hope that the players who do end up here have enough about them for it not to just be a payday. City hit lucky with getting Kompany at that time as someone who was brought in as not one of the big names but turned into their best buy whilst the bigger name players seemed to be able to just not give a shit, the key to it all will be the manager and whoever is in charge of recruitment.

Current Season Ticket holders Members Free for all/Fight to the death That's the only fair and realistic way.

Wonder if they’re waiting on some sort of update before Pod on the Tyne is released given that it was recorded earlier today and seemingly always released on a Tuesday it seems strange for them to be holding it back.

I have had first hand experience of both Newcastle and Sunderland academies and the first thing I'd say is it's nothing more than a myth that Sunderland is, or recently was, superior in any way. They were different, both good in some ways but both probably behind the bigger clubs in the NW for example. Newcastle's is decent, despite what a lot of uninformed people say, but being in the NE means that due to population there are fewer kids in the available pool than there are in the NW, SE or Midlands for example. There again how many Premier league clubs have had two young homegrown players make up their centre midfield pairing in recent years ? There are kids from Wearside at Newcastle and vica versa so supporting either club is of no consequence at all. Currently Newcastle's is way ahead and has a far better pool of talent. When Sunderland's ownership changed every possible overhead was slashed and their academy really suffered. People sacked, contacts severed and a lot of their better kids going elsewhere. Ethically the academy system is questionable across football in general. Nowadays when they bring in youngsters from around the world at a later age very few will ever make it and parents need to be sensible and not build up their own or their kid's hopes too much. If one player is identified as having the potential to make it they will design a team around him in the almost certain knowledge that none of the others will be kept on. This is not a dig at anyone, especially HTT, because I know it is exciting to have your child singled out as having potential and being asked to join a professional club academy. But, at 5 years old how the hell can they tell that a child will be or is good enough.... they pick kids because they can kick the ball straight and hard compared to others at their age group, that is basically it. My boy has been approached, or should I say I have, numerous times. I always said no. It is a massive commitment of time for both the parent and the child and the chances of making it are practically zero. If he is good enough he will be picked up later, if he is not good enough, as I suspect, then he will not have lost anything. By the way, he is 14 and knows that I said no, he was a bit puzzled but, I explained it and he fully agrees with me. My son plays for a team at a high level in the Russell Foster league and really enjoys his football, he plays Futsal for Newcastle United via his school and will represent them at a U15 tournament at The Beacon of Light on Sunday, assuming he is able to shift the heavy cold he is currently laid up with by then. I get all I need simply by watching him play and watching him enjoying his game. His mate, who is at Newcastle academy, seems to have had all the joy of football sucked out of him already, he is 14 years old!! Just be careful with the academy system and believe this, if he is good enough they will come back and keep coming back.... At what age would you allow him to go? At 16 or 17 he could have missed 3 years worth of hopefully better training and the experience of playing against/with better players. I can understand not wanting a kid to be at an academy at the age of 5, I personally don't think they should be allowed to look at kids until around 11/12 anyway. I don't think you can take the other lads experience as gospel as well.

Someone should just tweet him and be like honestly Isaac nobody gives a fuck, you seem like a good lad and if it helps you get out of here quicker that’s all the better for you, we’re falling to bits yada yada yada.

They don’t.

Aye, $11 Million is a bit shit I’m not running a business to make 3% profit.
-
Surely that profit is supposed to be $111m before tax?

I can’t see how it’s possible that they’re not back into ‘debt’ as well and losing a pretty substantial amount each month given that Short wiped what he was owed but the parachute payments haven’t been able to be used to help with running costs.

How many of those do you put on a day that don’t come off?

First MLS game I think I’ve managed to watch from start to finish, my god it’s an awful standard. What is a Brek Shea?

It’s only a good experience going to Wembley if you win.

Lee to Shearer for the Villa volley.

Not football but Coneygree going into retirement today, one of the best sporting days I’ve had was him winning the Gold Cup. He was just an absolute champion and such a shame that injuries took their toll. So pleased to see him retired before anything serious happened to him though.

I'll lose a shit ton of respect for him if he agreed to that Get ready to lose it.

Lewis Ritson interviewed on TalkSport saying he’s allowed to wear his black and white shorts and club crest as long as he doesn’t criticise Ashley on social media.
