I hope from this, Owen will be motivated to prove something to Capello by being instrumental to Newcastle ^^ We will benefit from it
-
I can so totally agree with that. Initially, when I got to know about the names of the players he called up, my initial reaction was... Well, there ain't a big difference from what McClaren will do. Now, boy am I glad that Capello is giving new players a chance instead of kept using the same big names which I think he would use based on his call-ups. I think the lineup is actually very refreshing, the whole approach to the game is too. There's really a big difference in the gameplay from McClaren's era and now. I'm sure eagerly anticipating more goals from this match and also to see who he will pick for a competitive match.

Bothered enough to post that though. aye your probly right , but not being funny i'm just never really happy watching them anymore, like when i was younger i was really behind them, and apart from the last few years of absolute crap management, not having the respect for players like i used to is all i can put it down to Much better than some of our matches in the past. I like build up play... it's like an art ^^ I think there will be 2 more goals coming

I thought Ashley Cole doesn't look too comfortable in a few of the passes... Maybe it's just me. I like the rest of the players. I think they are doing great ^^ It's looking really optimistic for England ^^ Now... Newcastle should have a revival like England too ^^ I want our first win ^^ I'm 80% certain that when Oba comes back for Newcastle, goals will be poping up for us ^^ '

Fine, happy? I'm used to doing it in all my student emails and work emails hahahahha Formality doesn't hurt

That's why he should have played Lescott or Woodgate in the centre. Upson is a no-nonsense clogger who can't pass a football. I'm still gobsmacked he has started this match. Richards should have also started instead of Brown to give some impetus down the right. I could understand playing Brown against a dangerous team when a steadier, more defensive player might be needed and he doesn't want to leave us exposed on the flanks.... but we're playing Switzerland. In a friendly. i wouldnt say lescott is significantly better than upson at that, plus he's looked s**** at this level. ditto... i think Upson's experience helps alot. To be fair, Upson has a alright game. Regards, Ericz

Hmmmm... anybody thinks Capello doesn't look very happy at half-time when he walked down to the changing room? Regards, Ericz

Yup, Jenas has been outstanding in his past few games. Ramos has surely given him the license to roam forward and his passing, driving forward ability is pretty good too. When you watch a Tottenham match, you see pretty much Jenas in action most of the time i feel. (Jenas, Lennon and Berbatov) Rgds, Ericz.

Honestly, although this team has some big names omitted, the team does gel in some ways. Nice build up plays and the most of the players look very confident of holding the ball. Also, they do chase the ball and close down players alot. All of a sudden, I wish Newcastle's players feel more confident about holding the ball too and close down players more often. Rgds, Ericz

Why? Because Jenas has had a couple of good games recently for Spurs? let's not have everyone saying how much they loved him and pretending they never wanted him to leave. And just think, if everyone put as much effort into supporting these players when they were at the club, giving them a lift instead of knocking them down all the time, then they might have been able to fulfil there potential and they might still be here. ditto Regards, Ericz

That was an insightful view I thought. As much as I always say... try to be encouraging etc... Frankly, I don't rate this generation of English strikers very highly. Simply put, the best strikers currently are not English. However, having said that... I don't wish to make any pre-matured judgment just yet. This is a new team, Owen just came back from injury, perhaps it's fitness reason, confidence reason or getting accustomed to new tactical play, I'm prepared to observe more before coming to any final conclusion. Regards, Ericz.

Wow, you must have a great hatred for them in order to take such extreme and drastic measure. Chill bro... hatred knows no end and is pointless. Spare a thought for their feelings too. Regards, Ericz

Alot of fans hate us for exactly the same reason. We aren't a big club. Well I don't think we're a top4 club. That league belongs to Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and Man Utd. Corrected There was a time when it used to belong to Man Utd, Arsenal, Liverpool and Newcastle. Regards, Ericz

In my humble opinion, I am of the view that loving/supporting a team doesn't mean hating the others. So no, I do not hate them at all, just like I do not hate Sunderland either. It does not always have to be that way. We should should bring love into the world, not hatred. In truth, I am very happy for them for what they have achieved in the past 2 seasons. They have perform very well under Martin Jol. I really hope they will be able to provide some competition for the 'Big Four'. That way, it provides more competition. In any case, their current manager, Juande Ramos is also a world-class manager. An excellent choice. Their squad is relatively decent as well and I reckon some of their players will walk into any premiership squad anyday. Additionally, it is always fantastic to see Newcastle winning against opponents that are worthy instead of teams where the standard of football is appalling. Regards, Ericz

Cacapa has been away from Brazil for years & Roz has left home a while ago as well. Your making excuses for them. Bramble & Dawson have been playing in the EPL for years & they dont seem to be getting better. I do belive they need more time, mainly to see if the odd good game is the rarity or the piss poor games. Different teams have different cultures. Moving to a new place also means you have to look for your own home and to get used to things around. It's not so easy as many would think. Once you live away from home, not for leisure basis, but for work purposes, you will know what I mean. I don't like to do things in a rush. If someone has been in Newcastle for 1 to 2 years and he still can't adapt, then of course there will be no excuses. But, they have only been here for a little, why rule them out so fast. I just don't want us to regret in the future when they move other clubs and other clubs give them time and they actually turn out to be a decent player or a world-class player even. You know many people thrive on being encouraged and like. It helps people to do better. I don't see why we shouldn't do that. Of course, there's a limit but please don't set your limit so low. I'm sure even if you fail in your studies, encouragement is always better than discouragement, right? I just think we should be more understanding and put ourselves in their shoes. Of course, the understanding must be reasonable as well. Regards, Ericz

Please give Cacapa and Roz a bit of time to settle down. It is difficult living away from home. They need time to adapt to the environment and the style of EPL too. We should be welcoming them, encouraging them and helping them to adapt. The least we could do is to undermine them and throw them out. Imagine people treating you that way when you did not have the time to adapt to a changing environment and as such has not tried to perform to your best yet. Observe more before jumping to any conclusion. Please people out there... don't be so impatient and considerate to others too. It's really not easy to be away from home especially the first time. Regards, Ericz

Has anybody watched the ANC? They are like playing wrestling or rugby, so rough and so physical. It's scary. Personally, I think in general... Africans make very good strikers. Italians make very good defenders. Brazilians, Argentinians, Portugals, France make very good creative players (i.e. Wingers, Attacking Midfielders) Of course, individually, there are exceptions.... I might be wrong though, but that's just how I see the game at the moment. Anybody has the same thoughts as me? Regards, Ericz

Don't be so negative. If other clubs are doing well, we should be happy for them. On our part, we should just improve ourselves so that we can be better than others one day. Whether this club does well or not doesn't depend on whether other clubs do well or not. One can't always rely on others doing badly. Most important is we must do well ourselves. Additionally, I am sure everybody would like to beat a worthy opponent rather than a not worthy opponent? and everybody would like to be in a league with quality clubs full of surprises rather than a 2 horse race every time (i.e. Scottish league)? That's just my thoughts. That being said, I'm happy for them. It was a great match but one wonders what would it have been if Arsenal played their best XI. Regards, Ericz
