  1. 'Cos the Arab geezers ran off mid-way through negotiations to check out this amazing timetable at the train station their made Nemanja told them about.
  2. did that Manyoo fan have his wife with him too? I remember one fan walking through us, with his wife in tow looking highly unimpressed, dunno if it was in the same place though.
  3. we're not going to see how this will unfold until January at least, though. I'd imagine its unlikely they'll manage to splash some cash in 13 hours, unless like Baggio suggests he could have funded the Kompany and SWP deals. One more question - is this guy thats going to be their chairman similar to Mort in that he has no experience of being a Premier League chairman? If so, why haven't they picked up on this like they seemed to with Mort?
  4. few things on nufc.com that caught the eye. the title: "Let's all have a Xisco" - easy chant to sing to start with if no-one can be arsed to be more imaginative. also, the quotes they carry from the unofficial Deportivo site: "also Newcastle’s squad will be forced to play two Teresa Herrera (pre-season) tournaments." - arghhhhh! we're playing against our will
  5. If he's 6'2, does he come under the "mobile target man" category that some have been whinging on about for weeks?
  6. things have calmed down a bit now, they're busy trying to find out more about the Citeh takeover. All transfer speculation is being ignored at present.
  7. aim from one of their geezers: "make Man City the top club in the Premier League and gain a top 4 finish this season."
  8. any mentioned this on his wiki (I know, I know)? good skills, Colo.
  9. Ameobi is absolute shite, so Xisco will walk in ahead of him, and Viduka will get injured again 2 games after coming back, so he's moved up one place there.
  10. why has it been extended? My guess is something to do with yesterday being a Sunday? Banks won't be operating etc?
  11. so is this lad any good? Quite a basic question, but I know nowt about him.
  12. I think exactly who we're getting in has taken a back-seat view for now. If we can bring in adequate players on loan who will provide depth, then fair enough. If we were still after our first choice targets now, we'd have them, or we'd have been told to fuck off.
  13. chuffed Owen isn't in. Keeps him fit for us, hopefully. Fuck England.
  14. Boo him. But if he's playing and puts in shit performances, don't dare ask why.
  15. has it been mentioned elsewhere he's not in the England squad? Good imo.
  16. In one sentence: the club progressing aided and given a chance by strengthening the side through a successful transfer window. OK. Well it depends how you mean by "successful". Its certainly successful in terms of who we've brought in compared to who we've replaced, thats a step forward and I don't think anyone can argue with that. I agree that we've perhaps not been aided by Ashley as much as we could have, but arguably its not only down to us, but how much other clubs are prepared to allow their players to leave. We could bid £100m for Cristiano Ronaldo tonight, but I doubt Manyoo would sell as it wouldn't allow them sufficient time to bring in a replacement. Even had we bid for him earlier (using this as an example), then still, Manyoo might have rejected as those they would target as a replacement would not be allowed to leave by their clubs. In all honesty I think this summer has been one of slow/relucatant movement. We have certainly improved our squad like for like, but yes, I do still agree the squad is too small. Now we can't do a lot to improve this, any player we get in at this moment in time is a bonus.
  17. can't be arsed to track back through 4 pages, also abit tipsy, but what does "save our season" mean? I'm assuming qualify for Europe? 'Cos without a shadow of a doubt we won't be relegated.
  18. Craigy at the Stadium of Shite, saying that Zayette is signing for another Premier Leauge club. Specifically in an hour and a half's time...
  19. I agree with what others are saying. We need Owen regardless, even with another month, I doubt we'd get someone with similar quality, never mind if we sold today and had 1 1/2 days to find someone. I think he'll sign.
  20. Bill Bradshaw from that respectable paper the Express (one of the Nazi ones?) on SSN - "Michael Owen doesn't have a long-term future at Newcastle in any way, shape or form". blabbered on about Keegan/Ashley saying one thing and doing something else (Milner). Let's set Barton on this cunt
  21. The father came back with the Observer and screws of the world as he does every Sunday, and started reading the Observer first, leaving me with the screws. However I refuse to read the match report 'cos that fucking prick Andy fucking Dunn wrote it. I'm even going to read his 'column' 'cos I think I can guess what its likely to be about.
  22. He's wearing black and white, he has ability in him to be a good player for us. I wanted him sacked, but as many have said, the decision was made to keep him, and back him we will. What gets me is there are people I know who have had friends/relatives locked up, with whom they don't call "scum". This lad gets locked up and the term is banded about like its the in-thing to do. So fucking hypocritical. Absolutely loved the tackle on Nasri, trust MOTD to say "he won the ball...just" though. Nasri is just a little prick for tripping him up off the ball. Hopefully other teams' players will follow suit and it will only benefit us in the long term.
