Doubt WarrenBartonCentrePartin was there to check out the fellas tbf. blonde Polish barmaid called Monica hahaha.

Sounds like an extremely camp play. nar, its a bar next to the Scottish Life building.

the 2nd one. I come on here, and nowts happened, so I go and do summit, then I'm back frantically checking thinking "fuck! what if something has happened?" I should have got used to it now, but I haven't.

Like Modric you mean? Obviously we're prepared to spend big money on players we believe are good enough, in the right positions and at the right age. For older players we're not prepared to pay out huge fee's and I support that strategy 100%. £18 million for Arshavin is a monumental waste of money. yeah, Modric is an example. Tbh I think something around £14m (taking into account Midds' idea his price will drop for CL registration, even though we don't fall into that) for a 28 year old that has shown quality isn't too bad, unless those involved in our wheelings and dealings have plans to put all, or a bulk of that £14m elsewhere of similar quality.
-
its not like we've spent bucketloads though, a bit more for one player that has shown quality wouldn't go a miss, surely? Its like treating yourself to a new expensive pair of jeans, you only do it once in a while as to not break the bank too much, whereas if you did it every week you'd soon come to regret it. ....if you get me drift. true to a point........but what if you weren't sure about how long the jeans would last, not sure even if they lasted they'd be very unstylish ina year or so and cost £300 ? I suppose thats part of the risk, and perhaps something that has crossed Ashley's mind. If he's not prepared to spend big on an older player, fair enough.
-
For £23m? nar not that, but I'd still be surprised if thats the fee he leaves for. The price will drop like a stone as Zenit's first CL game approaches. No way will any buying club want him cup-tied. He'll end up going for about £15m top whack. I agree. And for £15m I don't think a billionnaire owner can complain, although he's not as young as Modric. Unless of course, Ashley is that unwilling to spend. No way will he join us like, especially as we appear to not be offering over-the-top wages like we used to, and don't have Europe. I'd just be sick as f*** to see him end up "daan the laaayne". I think he sees himself as a 'Champions League' player and would be unwilling to drop to the UEFA Cup. However, if Spurs offer enough (to Zenit and Arshavin himself) then I can see him as a Spurs player, no problem. He'll sign for the $$$ because he knows he might not get another chance of a massive contract. A good point, its probably just my heart overruling my head, and that I'll be as sick as a flu-ridden parrott if they get him too.

Forget the Far East: why not try moving to the North East

told a mackem I'd read that they were tripling Tainio's wages and he said "so?" The same one that has spent the past 3 years obsessing that we pay Owen 80/100/120* grand a week * delete as to what figure you actually believe. -

I can confirm I was there, but I don't want to confirm what number Guthrie was wearing. I can confirm I wasn't there, but can confirm from the highlights he was wearing 8. However an ITK I know said that this was actually a mis-print, and he is actually going to wear the symbol for infinity. They just printed it the wrong way round.

sunderland is an absolute hole man, any way you look at it. Obviously the reason the 4 spuds went there was 'cos they can offer a big paddling pool, which god's city can't. and while I'm on, coming from Chester-le-Street, I'm fucking sick of mackems telling me that I'm in sunderland. Am I fuck? Do I give a shit about town boundaries from about 200 years ago? I apply for my student loan from DURHAM county council. not sunderland town (apparantly city) council. -
if Spuds go in, we should whack a bid in. I'd hate to see them get him 'n' all without us even bothering.
-
read all the papers at work today. In the Journal and the Northern Echo, in the picture of Tainio in his mackem top, there's a fucking Ireland shirt on the wall behind him!
-
Would rather have a recognised centre half to cover there, and as I said, I could picture him throwing a strop if he was behind our 2 current full backs.
-
2nd fiddle to Beye after what he's shown so far in my eyes. The mackem said he can also play left-back. I said again, 2nd fiddle, as we've no reason to drop Jose. And Chimbonda's not someone you want as backup, he'll probably spit his dummy out.
-
oh dear oh dear oh dear. I've got a mackem telling me most of us would take Chimbonda and Tainio. fuck off.

he couldn't have dropped in "if you ever seriously think about leaving us, before you make up your mind, come to N-O and look at the sig of a guy named Skirge. It shows how much you mean to us!" ? -
Darren Huckerby interview in the US

Custis on SSN - "we don't just make up quotes, these are legitimate sources". f*** off ye c***. Not necessarily regarding this, but for him to say that when his job involves doing so a hell of a lot of the time...
