thats the problem. What if he was a success? This is a team that were better than us last season, and we should be looking to get ahead of.

Allardyce's team talk for Hull away next season "Right lads, this is a massive game for us. I know we're only 3 games into the season, but if we lose this, we're fucked. Hull are gonna be a major force in this league. I know they've drawn one and lost the other two so far, but they'll be up for this, and we're gonna have our backs to the wall straight from the kick off, however, if we can contain that nippy bastard Dean Windass, I think we can come away with a 0-0 and hold our heads high...." You know the rest.

he mentioned wanting to go back and play for Boca. Don't know if he still wants to, but it would seem that could be his next move (depending on being with his ex and kid).

The Euro 2008 thread: Spain are European champions
WarrenBartonCentrePartin replied to madras's topic in Football
15/1 on Holland to get 5 points (beat Romania and draw with France and Italy). It's a long shot, but looking at some of the other odds, that are pretty poor, I think I might stick a fiver on that. -
I might e-mail the legends to get them to ask Paddy Power what he'd give me for Portugal, Czech Republic, Germany, Croatia, Italy, France, Spain and Greece all progressing to the knockout stages. I know it seems like the favourites from each, but since theres so many involved in that bet, I reckon I'd get some decent odds. Although they won't fucking ask him like. Macdonald always says "if you want any odds, e-mail us, and we'll ask Paddy Power for you". They never do...

fuck right off. Unless he's way above average, we'd be stupid to do that. -

its pathetic really, considering we got at least this in the Modric thread AFTER he'd signed for spurs. -

same here. Crazy! As for the reported £8m, it would be magic! But I'll believe it when I see it. £4m for Ameobi (plus loan fee) A buyer for Rozy £6m+ for Emre Wise = Hero. Wise = Legend if he can get £7m combined for Smith & Duff. is it not just as much to do with Jimenez? Isn't the 'negotiator' or whatever, so it'd be him saying "we want £8m, not a penny less?" or even Mort? the whole thing still confuses me... -

when I was in London, I was in the Bluewater shopping centre, and went into Sports Direct as I was after a new pair of football socks. I took great pleasure in watching crowds of Spuds buying their tops in their, knowing they were putting money in Mike's pockets. It was some consolation for Woodgate/Modric! Chelsea shirts also flying out too. Considering its a fucking awful top, and again, there was money going to Ashley, it too made me happy!

Just having a flick through FourFourTwo, there's some very tempting odds like. I fancy Gomez to be top scorer, Jaxx (who they're in partnership with) are offering 18/1. Considering Podolski is 8/1, and he doesn't even play, I'd call those very generous odds! 8/1 on Portugal is also tempting, although my head says Germany will win it, its just that they're favourites. The guy they're inteviewing reckons a tenner on Portugal, Germany, Holland and Spain to win their groups, £40 (£10 on each) could return over a grand. Again tempting, but I don't think Holland will win their group. Might go down th bookies later though and see what they'll give me on the other three.

cricketer Graeme Swann has just confessed to being a Mag on Sports Saturday, and when asked about Emre leaving, said he wasn't very good. Hmm.... -
I've heard Spurs are planning to build a big underground dungeon somewhere in Austria, and sign every player ever and put them in it, so no fucker else can buy them. Then they're planning to go to Downing St, kidnap that usless bugger Gordon Brown, hold him hostage until he ups the price of petrol to £5 a litre. This is because by signing every player ever, it will break their precious wage structure and so this will pay for every player evers wages. On top of this, I heard Levy plans to form the Spurshevik Party, and conquer the British Isle's. This is because he see's it as the only way he will be able to break the "big 4" as he knows that deep down, Spurs are nothing more than an average club, who have as much chance of breaking the "big 4" as Newcastle. I heard this from my goldfish, who I thought was dead, flushed down the bog, then was found alive, caught and put in a tank in a dentist's waiting room, 5 miles from White Hart Lane which is the dentist that the Spurs tea lady uses, and she knows everything.

I don't know, but there was a double page spread on outlining those up to replace Grant. I think Spurs got one column that just carried some nothing quotes from Poyet IIRC. All I can say is I thought it was just MJ, but no, theres more.

I'm just gonna watch any game played at the Wankdorf Stadium so I can snigger at Motson/Lineker trying to discreetly trying to pronounce it in a different way.

right, I've been in London since Saturday, arrived back up here yesterday afternoon. Met some of my Spud relatives, and they're just as bad as bloody Martin Jol. I never asked them, but I will ask MJ this now. Is your name Ged, Ken or Scott? Are you related to me? Don't even know where they get so much bollocks from, its not the Evening Standard, I can tell you that, 'cos I read it every day when I was down there and its just page after page of Chelsea...

Season ticket news - renewal deadline now Sunday June 22
WarrenBartonCentrePartin replied to Baggio's topic in Football
Waiting list = MYTH. Last year I advised a lad on herewho wanted a season ticket to go to the ticket office & get one & he did, he had been waiting for about 3 (IIRC) years for the ticket office to get in touch. OK, cheers. Gonna speak to the lad I used to go with and see if he's got his pennies sorted out, and have words with the ticket office. -

Aye I know, but I'm still not sure. I'll give it a bash anyway, I've missed it far more than I thought I would. -

dunno if its been mentioned, I can't be arsed to flick through 4 pages tbh, but what do people reckon the idea will be for getting a season ticket rather than renewing? Is their a waiting list? I gave mine up for this season (had been in the Milburn paddock for the past 7 years) with starting uni, and having to watch how much I've spent, but I've managed to be sensible/save up and fancy returning. If there's no waiting list, would people recommend me just ringing up/calling into the box office a day or two after the renewal deadline has passed? -
Boro supposedly after him too!

Champions League Final 2008 won by Man Utd
WarrenBartonCentrePartin replied to Dave's topic in Football
Never liked the bloke, but felt sorry for him when he was collecting his medal at the end, dunno how anybody couldn't really. He looked a broken man. the medal that some Chelsea fan has now got. If thats not a signal of it being the end, then what is. like beye and taylor stripping off and hoying there stuff into the crowd ? I'd have thought a Champs League losers medal (although a losers medal) would still have meant a little bit more than a top worn during a derby game, for example. Arguably you could say he went down the 'at the end of the day, what worth is a runners up medal?' approach, but to me, it gives off a negative impression. -

If thats not a signal of it being the end, then what is. Well.... at the end of the day, player for player Chelsea have the best squad in the country and they've ended up winning nothing. I'm sure Grant is a nice enough guy, but does he give his players that little bit extra? Don't think so. I agree. I still had the impression had Chelsea won tonight he'd still have got the boot/walked or whatever. However, arguably you could say the 'best squad' was therefore Manyoo's as its got them the league and Champions League?, although again, I do agree that might be down to Fergie's 'little bit extra' that Grant could well have been lacking. -
