Hull City promoted to the Premier League
WarrenBartonCentrePartin replied to Beren's topic in Football
I think, and hope, Bristol come up. They've been punching against their weight this season, so to speak, and that part of the country should be represented in the top-flight. However its Darlo I want to reach the League 2 playoff final. I'm down in London that weekend and am hoping to get a ticket in the Darlo end. They only got 8,000 for the Rochdale game, so with wembley holding over 10x that amount, I'm hoping it shouldn't be too hard! -

I would NEVER have agreed with a statement like that (no matter how poorly we were performing at any given time) as we were always a huge club with huge amounts of money and 52,000 fans in a magnificent stadium and centred in a great Regional Capital City. NOW, I do agree with it. NOW - since Mr Kevin Keegan has so succinctly consigned us the the Premier League's 2nd Division, with his "our best position is only 5th" speech (because that is what it was). NO top player will want to come to a 2nd tier club. Mediocrity is the best we can ever hope for, according to Mr Keegan - and the football world will have heard that. There will be people on here who disagree with me on this. To you I say - "I WISH YOU WERE RIGHT AND THAT I WAS WRONG". I suppose, the only way to overcome that would be for KK to change his thoughts and say to potential signings that that is the mould in the PL, and we're trying to look to break it.

would be happy to see him on board. Agree with it being in the past its 'jobs for the boys', whereas Taylor seems to be a repected coach. Was surprised to see him drop down to manage Stevenage like.

was gonna take boca as part of a treble but it wasnt paying enough. was gonna be boca, botafago and aalborg.(took aalborg seperatly). they're 2-1 up now. 78 mins gone.

Palacio missed a golden opportunity for Boca. Hesitated 'cos he thought he was offside though.
-
seen as this is now "other games from around the world", I will report the events of Boca vs. Atlas in the Copa Libratordes. I'm supporting Atlas 'cos I bought their shirt when I went to Mexico as a 12 year old 'cos it looked nice. So far I can confirm the tunnel looks like a giant tent. Its mental.

A smoggie on the leg-ends tonight reckoned they should go in for Bentley. Even Bernie said they had no chance.

deary me. Spoke to a Rangers fan I know (lives in Newcastle). Pissed out his mind. "Scottish FA want to be fucking proud of themselves, not helping us out" blah blah blah, however then came "And aye, I'm fucking glad that Rushkie got killed. Fucking prick probably deserved it". -

who is worse/meant to be worse? Rangers fans or Celtic fans? Or are they as bad as each other? Haven't encountered Rangers fans before, but have with Celtic's and they're cunts of the highest order. -

Wahey! An excellent bid for this year's special N-O Award for "stating the f****** obvious". Well played, son! nar, just getting sick of people saying "Yes please". "We'll have him" when all the clubs in Europe have seen that, we don't stand a fucking chance. -
haha same thought crossed my mind.

I dont know about Butcher being raised a Catholic, but he certainly raised a few as a Rangers player, indeed,he levelled a few also. nahh, he wasn't. Apparantly Souness was gutted. And with regards to the goal, its just like watching us regarding that defending! -

Samuel's point was Advocaat should ignore the fact their fans don't like black players, and sign who he wants, regardless of race. He said Souness signed Maurice Johnston (a Catholic) and knew what he was doing. The point being Johnston was a quality player, so what if he was Catholic. Apparantly when he signed Terry Butcher, he was hoping Butcher was raised a Catholic just to hammer the point home even further. -

That article is the main focus point of Samuel's column in the Times today too. -
yeah saw that on SSN. Wouldn't be against it for £2.5m as backup for Enrique. Although whether or not Shorey will expect to be a first-team regular I don't know.

many boro fans are now realising their fantastic kids aren't as good as they thought......still got a better set up then us mind True. They've had more youth players getting a game from the first team than we have. This season what have we seen? Carroll and Edgar getting a few appearances, Forster on the bench a couple of times and Tozer once (not really one of our own). If we're ever in the position to give more of the kids a run out, I'd like to see it happen, although for now, pre-season seems most likely (Hull last year). On the other hands, the smogs were on the legends a few weeks back bleating on that their under 16s had won some cup and were off to represent England in a European competition.

Boro are constantly putting young'uns in the team too.
