FFF president 'reassured' Houllier not moving to Tyneside

In context, and in English football, yes. OK. I accept that shy bairns get nowt, but perhaps we have tried the top managers and been knocked back, we don't know. I'd be chuffed if we appointed a Mourinho/Lippi/van Gaal, but as we're all hearing everything as it develops, at this moment in time I'm happy that we've gone down the Houllier route rather than looking back at Hughes. Hopefully one more (pleasing) twist will unfold.

Do you classify Houllier as an also-ran...?

The good thing about this is that Houllier should know a fair bit about Beye and Rozehnal, and alot about Cacapa. The least I hope to see if he is appointed is an improvement in the defence as a unit. -

I'm sure England's Michael Owen would love Ooolier to come here. As long as we keep him happy, eh? -

Houllier would welcome any conversation with Mort/Ashley and would welcome working with Shearer. - David Craig via Houlliers associates Informal discussions with Ashleys contacts held. -
as interesting as it would be, I can't help but feel I should refuse to buy the book to stop the fat twat getting more money. Down to the library it is!

Andy Dunn is an absolute cunt. He's slated us quite a few times now. -
If a manager shows signs of improvement he'll get time. First full season he finished 6th and then sold his best player at the time. sadly "signs of improvement" and finishing 6th won't appease some of our fans. Are you joking? Give the fans more credit than that. I said some, not all. And by that I mean the ones the press seem to print the opinions of.

lets have a little guess at what the headline/story of his piece in tomorrow nights chronicle is going to be. I'm going with.... MORT: WE WILL TAKE OUR TIME He'll produce a mind-numbingly pointless article whereby he continues to spout out names, whilst also integrating a discussion he claims to have had with Mort, and paraphrases statements saying that we are looking for an experienced manager. All in all, it will be a load of bollocks with no real point.

it took Hughes time to build that team. We don't "do" time with managers.

Ashley should take heed of this... Our gaffer, who art in the Toon, Mourinho be thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, For Newcastle as it was at Chelsea. Give us this day a fucking attacking midfielder And forgive Jose Enrique For being a bit of a slow starter. And lead us not into temptation, To call for your head. But deliver us the a trophy, For thine is the Kingdom, To have the power and the glory, For ever and ever Jose (Amen).

is this serious? or is it just for effect that a DWARF had a MASSIVE tip? Nah, apparently there was a wedge put on in a bookmakers in Cramlington, and they've been tipped by someone at the club that it's Jose. His personal tip was Hitzfeld, but said he's recieved calls and bets on Jose. hahaha ahhhh right. I can keep dreaming. Keep dreaming of Mourinho winding Keane up on the week before derby day. -

just bitter 'cos the makers of Harry Potter rejected him for the role of Hagrid. -
We should look at ourselves before going round slating other teams' managers, players, fans etc. ......Except if its the mackems or smogs.

even if he did, and Ashley couldn't negotiate with Chelsea, we could work round it. Just let him turn up to training, invite him to sit in the stands at games etc without actually officially appointing him. He did something similar when he was banned at Chelsea. The whole link-up thing with a coach in the dugout. -
sure, feel free. 3 points would be most welcome!

Our chances of appointing someone good have dropped significantly, the fact the media claim and Redknapp himself claims he was offered the job means that any other manager looking at the job realizes they're the second choice, do you think someone with Mourinho's caliber would want a job in which: 1.Harry Redknapp rejected 2.He was Ashley's second choice If those two points are true of course. It's irrelevant, whether it's true or not it's something the candidate will be thinking about. So Mourinho would only accept the nufc job if he was the ONLY person in the world considered for it? I know he's a bit big headed, but come on. No, did you not read my post above, "Our chances of appointing someone good have dropped significantly" I never said he wouldn't accept, put yourself in Jose Mourinho's shoes, you're one of, if not the best manager in the world, you could goto Newcastle, a mid-table team who have just tried to appoint Harry Redknapp, they view you as their back-up choice. You could go to Newcastle or wait for a job with one of the biggest clubs in the world, what would you do if you were Jose Mourinho? It certainly wouldn't be the first option. Milan/Barcelona still havn't approached him though and people keep saying he's hanging on for one of these jobs. I suppose it could be down to how much he wants to be back working. If he's happy doing nothing, fair play - he has the money to not have to work. However if he feels he has something to prove, perhaps to Abramovich for getting rid of him, then managing us might appeal. As someone mentioned a while ago, if the Barca/Milan job cropped up, he could easily demand as much as he wants and leave us. -

I'm losing optimism tbh, it seems like no-one has any idea what is going on. Anal goes back to blabbering about Shearer in todays ronny, SSN think they're onto something after interviewing Keegan, Hughes' name still occurs in the nationals and the club are keeping so tight-lipped, apart from re-iterating the whole "experienced" thing. -

I think it's just a metaphor in this case. There isn't an actual CV. yeah I know. Just saying if they were considering him, surely he'd become first choice. I can imagine a full Jose CV though. "1984 - worked part-time at "[insert Portuguese shop name here]", the Portuguese version of Woolworths..." -

if they're reading Mourinho's CV, does that mean he's submitted one/is interested or something along those lines? If so, its a no brainer!
