Parts of the roof of a football stadium should have collapsed on the football stadium Twente in Enschede, Netherlands.

    According to  Reuters.

The roof has collapsed while it was undergoing renovation work at the site.

A police spokesman confirmed to Reuters that part of the roof has collapsed.

     - There are people under the building masses, but we do not know how many, said the spokesman.

He did not want to comment on whether someone is killed or injured, but added that the collapse is probably related to the construction work in progress.

A large number of personnel from police, fire and health workers are on their way to the site, according to news agency ANP.

The stadium belongs to the football club FC Twente, writes the news agency AP

  4. Their forum is full "What if X,Y,Z joins us tommorrow... currently thinking, Zog, Defoe and O'shea has been seen in the area

then you have this: "If Messi, Phil Babb and Freddy Adu sign in the next few days" ...

  5. 'According to Spanish reports' = lifted almost word for word from a Spanish site I read earlier.

I don't know how reliable The Mirror is, though rumour might well be very true, as Xisco is not held in very high regard here. But looking at the article it's written/translated as if we are letting him go for free, which I highly doubt.

  6. Deportivo out to rescue Newcastle flop

Deportivo la Coruna are hoping to sort out a permanent deal for Newcastle outcast Xisco, according to Spanish reports.

The striker has just returned to Tyneside after a six-month loan spell with old club Deportivo.

He has appeared only nine times for the Magpies since joining from Deportivo for £5.7m three years ago.

Depor president Augusto Cesar Lendoiro is waiting for the green light from Newcastle to open negotiations with the player.

    Neil Taylor?

  8. When has he done that before?

Not saying that he has done that before. I believe he will this season. Have you seen his reaction to Nolan being sold, and his own contract negotiation? He'll make a living hell on twitter when he realizes that his only options are getting sold, see out his contract or agree a pay-cut on a 2 or 3 yr deal.

I really struggle to see Barton be professional and keep his performance up tbh.

I'm fairly sure he realises his options already. And I think you're overplaying the influence of twitter in the dressing room just a tad tbh, I doubt Jonas will refuse to pass to him because Joey mentioned him in a hashtag, y'know? These guys see each other every day of their working lives and have a working relationship that stretches back years in some cases, just because we're privy to tiny fractions of their thoughts at any given time doesn't mean we should be constructing full blown character portraits and soap operas based on them.

What you say is valid. However, in the case of Barton you should take into consideration his rather troublesome past, and the fact that he's been in jail while contracted to us. He's done well for us for such a short time when you look at how much time he's spent here. Overall he's been disappointing in my opinion.

Of course youcan't get the full truth and aspects from twitter and the media about someone, but you certainly get a good picture of people opinion, because that is what Barton is expressing  - his opinions. He's entitled to it, as much as people are entitled to judge him by his opinions, match performance and on- and off-field actions.

  10. I'd be a very happy man if Barton left. He did well for us last season, but his personality is all but professional. He certainly will provide discomfort in the dressing room.

  11. £7m Gael sparks Bridge Toon bid

MANCHESTER CITY hope £7million Gael Clichy will be theirs by Tuesday's start of pre-season training.

The capture of the Arsenal left-back is likely to hasten the exit of ex-England ace Wayne Bridge, 30, who is wanted by Newcastle.

  12. In all honesty, if anyone seems worries its wearside with his over the top defence. I think you have made some decent signings tbh but then again someone asked me the other day which one would walk into our first team and none of them would for me. Same goes for the Man U # they are linked to.

Fair play for filling the squad but when you sit back and look at it they aren't even replacing the quality that left the squad through loans and sales let alone progressing.

But hey how, it's their fault if there over the top hopes are dashed for another season.

Us on the other hand with Cabaye, Marveaux, Ba and even the likes of Ben Arfa and Gosling getting fit.. yeah I'm more confident that we have moved forward tbh :)

    How have you moved forward?

Are you seriously trying to tell me that Ba is better than Carroll or Cabaye is better than Nolan?

Come on man,at least be honest.

They may well in time go on to be better but at this moment in time your squad is weaker than when it started the beginning of last season.

We don't know that yet. What we know is that Ba has a "shaky" knee. (Mind Carroll has not been playing much for Liverpool only returning 1 or 2 goals, whereas Ba put 7 for a team ready for relegation all season)

As for Cabaye, he offers something totally different to Nolan. Nolan has two things, leadership and he was at the right place at the right time - therefore netting goals. Both important qualities, yes. But he didn't offer much apart from that.
