  1. Indifferent, as long as he is replaced with ... say... a David Luiz-type of player.

His current wages are scaringly high, and thus put him as the prime target No.1 to get rid of under the current regime.

Ba and Marveaux are possibly high-risk gambling due to their injury record, and the season can turn out to be a disaster if/when they get injured without decent backups.

He knows he'll not get his wage matched in his next offer be it from us or elsewhere. I think as long as we offer in the £50-55k bracket which we've been offering Nolan, and signing Cabaye on, he'll stay.

That might be true, but it remains to see whether he agrees with us, or decides to pursue his luck elsewhere. Nonetheless, I'm excited to see how Colo will perform this season, as he has spent some time now trying to adapt to English football. IMO he still has 2-3 good years ahead of him.

  2. Erdinç, Matuidi and N'Zogbia next please!

Might as well get a CB while we're at it. Then we're frothing.

Ayeeeee. No excuse to leave that area unattended. Get some big beasty CB on board.

    George Elokobi ?

    He's a fullback ;)

    That's why I didn't highlight CB, but just hightlighted ........... ;)

  5. Guys, do you think this means Jonas or Barton will Leave.

Getting, Taylor, does that mean Jose will leave?

    Getting Barnetta means...?

@nufcfans Ashley said Carroll money would be used for contracts so if these players are on 40k a week that's £20.8m gone so far. #NUFC" ???

  6. Why are so many people completely ignoring the fact Nolan was offered a very good deal to stay on, which he chose to decline?  We didn't kick him out on to the street ffs.

What West Ham offered Nolan was absolutely ridiculous and I'm sure he still can't believe his luck.  For us to offer the same thing would have been downright stupid and something straight out of the Freddy Shepherd school of business.

5.2 The Club admitted to the Tribunal that it repeatedly and intentionally misled the press, public and the fans of Newcastle United.

It's ultimately down to who you choose to believe. While you could argue that Nolan is old, slow, and offers little, apart from his goals, you really shouldn't undermine the importance he played as a captain, and apparently in the dressing room.

It's hard to put a fair price tag on the latter, but judging by Barton's comments/behaviour on twitter, and Enriques hesitation regadring his contract renewal, I firmly believe we lost a "Shearer"-figure in terms of leadership, and that is what's worrying me.In addition to the fact that most of the players we have seem allergic to scoring goals.

Based on the current regime's record of bringing in replacements and additional players, it's frightning to think of the negative impact and consequences this transfer can have on the remaining squad.

Obviously, no one is arguing the fact that getting £3,5 mill for a 29 yr old player of his "normal" calibre is a nice piece of business. Age-wise he's probably had his peak, but I still believe he could've played an important part for us in the coming season.

It's just that this is Newcastle and Mike Asley and Derek Llambas, and judging by, again, their previous action and the qoute above, I find it hard to believe Newcastle will have strengthen their squad come 1.September.

    The highlighted names - realistic?

  8. As if Joey Barton holds this squad together, give me a break... jeez ... Barton should be told to delete his Twitter account tbh.

    Barton and Nolan probably played some role in preventing the dressing room from "falling apart" last season, but if any of you give them credit for everything, then ask yourself this;

what does that tell you about the rest of the lads?

We replaced Nolan with Cabaye. It's only disappointing Nolan is leaving because we have a paper-thin squad. IF WHU get promoted next year, he'll be 30. AND IF they get promoted, Fat Sam will probably still be their manager, and we all know his preferred style of playing hoofball...

  9. So according to Pardew, Ben arfa will have to work a lot during the summer ? No holidays for him ?

And do you know when the Newcastle team is going to return in training ?

Ben Arfa is just returning earlier from holidays than the rest of the team to be fit for the start of the season

    4th of July.

  10. All these twitter rumours are funny. Makes it a little bit exciting to be honest.

However, with "everybody" being on twitter nowadays, I guess "everybody" can make up all these rumours.

It's nice though, because many of you seem surprisingly optimistic and excited.

Judging by the way Ashley and Llambas "operate", I don't expect much to happen at all this transfer window. We might sell 1 or 2 players, and maybe bring in 1 or 2.

Dont think anything will happen until 1. September.
