I don't understand how Twitter works. Is Alan Shearer there?
-
I'm gonna agree with KK on this. Ashley has proven again and again that he's unwilling to back up his managers with a decent transfer budget. Thus, Ashley needs to prove he is willing to spend in the summer.
-
Vela and Sturridge, anyone?
-
He'll probably be completely out of the race when Ireland and Ben Arfa returns.
-
Dave, why do you talk about yourself in third person?
-
Genuinely happy for them. Unlike Dave, I think it is always nice to see smaller clubs win thropies!:-) Really goes to show you, that from time to time, money and fame ain't everything:-) (ala Chelsea or Man City)

Nice win by WH. May give us a real chance at 7th... or even higher. This season is crazy!
-
Doesn't really matter. Throw your pessimism around. This is good news. At least now we get silly money for him in the summer :-)

Are you sure it wasn't 'stick your f***ing bubbles up your arse'? Geremi got one of them I rememeber. Hah! That might be, we attended the match totally unprepared So, it was quite an experience for us (both me and my dad, who is a man utd supporter). It was such an amazing feeling standing in the middle of what 5000 (?) nufc fans waving my Norwegian flag! Hope to go to Newcastle, maybe next season if we can get tickets for a game - a game we most likely win!
-
Harper has been good lately, however I don't believe he'll be as good next season. Getting old.... er...
-
2007. West Ham - Newcastle. 2-2. Came all the way from Northern Norway to London. One of the forum users here help me and my dad with tickets. Loved it EDIT: can't remember who score, tbh the Newcastle fans with their songs and actions was just amazing to watch. Remember we sang something in the line of: You can stick your fucking Bobbies up your ass. Think they sang it because of Bobby Zamora and Bobby Moncur. Remember me and my dad took the wrong way, ending up on the WH tiles. Fortunately, some very kind WH supporters told us we were on the wrong side, and actually followed us to the right place They didn't hurt us, eventhough I had my Newcastle kit on, my huge Norwegian flag probably saved us. hehe!

Can't decide between us beating Tottenham 7-1, Keegan returning, or SBR's time here. All perfect NUFC moments!

might be a cheap shot, but I hope Carroll gets seriously injured asap.

Good idea = sell up to someone who can afford to splash some cash and have more ambitions. Anyway, don't wanna spoil this thread with this. PM me if you want to discuss it more

he's put over 100million of his own cash in above what he spent on buying the club. That may well be true, but as I've said before (in other threads), Ashley is a poor business man (in terms of financial resources), and should not own and run an EPL-side. As far as I'm concerned he doesn't have the financial muscles needed to improve the club or team beyond the current state. I think he just stays around to try squeeze as much money as he can out of the club, cause he knows that he has lost on his investment. except he hasn't took any monies out and no-one.....N O O N E! was prepared to put a penny in let alone 100million. There's a reason for that. Without that money Newcastle would have been bankrupt. your catching on. Yes, I hate Ashley. But let's leave it there until next transfer window
-
because we know you're not seriously saying that you support Newcastle based upon their success No Unfortunately I'm stuck here, forever. Pulling my hair, or atleast whatever's left of it , until we one day conquer the football world Hopefully that happens before I get relegated to the non-league ...and lets say this whole episode with the FCB goes terribly wrong and we do end up the the BlueSqBet Premier, are you still going to support the team then? yes Edit: I wrote I will be relegated (as in; before I die), not Newcastle

Still, both Tottenham (many) and Villa (Bent, Makoun) have been able to replace those who have left. Everton however is a special case, and struggle. But they still have Baines (which many compare to Enrique), that Afro-dude Fellaini (?), Arteta and Tim Cahill, Jack Rodwell and Jagielka. But I don't see why Newcastle can't do they same as Villa and Tottenham, if Ashley is not a stingy and unambitious chairman (as some of you argue)?
-
Exactly, I posted something similar earlier. Unless Ashley had spent Man City-style since he came in, Europe would have been very unlikely. We still might have shown enough to keep the better players happy, but if they want the CL then there's nothing we can do. Thats simply not true. In 07/08 AND 08/09 Everton finished 5th, Villa 6th (where are they now?), in 09/10 Tottenham finished 4th, City 5th and Villa 6th. Now, have any of those teams lost many of their key players? So, it is possible. Everton hasn't splash the cash, Villa have bought a lot of medicore players, and in recent time some expensive ones as well (they have used cash under both MON and Houllier - though not as much as City.), as far as I know Tottenham has bought many players, but they've also sold quite a few for some good money. Now, I'm not gonna talk about City, but Everton, Villa and Tottenham haven't lost many (if any) of their key players, they have been able to keep the core. Newcastle seem unable to do both..... keep their in-form, key players, and strength the squad to make sure we have a strong and decent-sized squad.
