Agree a manager has influence, but the way some go on, on this forum, is that he should be consistently waving his magic wand and making things happen. We should have beaten Swansea. Gouf and others could/should have scored (individual errors). The goal we conceded was a shambles (individual errors). What I would be interested in is us as a community scoring the various aspects of being a manager, eg: Relationship with Media Relationship with Fans Relationship with Chairman/Owner Relationship with Board Relationship with Scout Man Management Ability to execute within a strict framework/budget Pre-Game Strategy etc Training/Coaching etc Not an exhaustive list, but you get the point. I think he scores very VERY well in some areas, and probably not so well in others.

Not sure if thats directed at me. My point is, every sub is a gamble. Player can come on and positively influence the game, or negatively influence the game. There is no guarantee. There is no formula. Isn't this where Man Management, pre-match preparation, in-game analysis and feedback and motivation become an important skill? To try and help that 'gamble' pay off? If there was a forumla, every manager would do it, and all would have successful subs. Even Sir Bobby did the triple sub a few times, some worked well, some didnt. Let me put it simply: Are Ferguson/Mourinho bad managers when their players get sent off?

Are you suggesting that new players from France will always come right into the side, gel well, and start producing? I can think of 100 examples where that is no the case.

Silly comment. Marveaux is human. You cannot guarantee performance. You can just as easily say its pardews fault for bringing him on if he concedes a penalty.

There is no such thing as a perfect manager. Every single one has his faults. If someone else i brought in to replace Pardew there is no guarantee he will succeed. Then we go through the clown circus and instability etc Im happy to support Pardew through all his faults. Not perfect, but right man for the club at this time.

I disagree about Saints being more dangerous. 2 very different styles. We like to get the ball up asap. They are happy to pass it between the CB's/GK for 50 passes before getting into the midfield.

You can tell by the posts that we are a club not used to having a squad. Lets keep everyone. Lets add more. And they will all have a role/place in the team.

He isnt cast aside. We have more than 11 good players now. Simples. He will still be a very important player for us over the years

size/physicality is a myth that has constantly been debunked on here.

I much prefer this place when we win....... Holy Farkin Crap - what a dreary few days, with some spectacular posts ....

Hatem made him look silly. But thats more about Hatem and less about Enrique
-
drat, want him to come home asap

Would work. Add Tiote/Cabaye. Awesomeness

Interesting insight into his choice of player. Recommended to him by Carr though, i think he says that in one of his interviews recently. Im sure thats true for all transfers. Thats the point of having scouts
-
that`s taking it a bit too far tbh Can you think of a better player? Ben Arfa for example was probably on 500 pages before he even signed. not sure if you get my point. Im saying he is underrated. Only 57 pages so far. Think he is better than that
-
Think he is the best player we have ever had, that after 2 games, he only has 57 pages on his thread
-
Yep, like the Ramires red that never was
