I would expect not many clubs outside the top 6 will get more than 2 points from City (H) Man U (a) and Liverpool (a). Agonisingly close to it be 3 at Liverpool as well.

Fulham vs. Newcastle United - 1/10/22 @ 3pm (No UK TV)
ChrisJbarnes replied to HaydnNUFC's topic in Football
Been to see them at Arsenal away with my brother who is a fulham season ticket holder. Think they look reasonably solid at the back for a newly promoted team. Mitro has been a menace at the start of the season. Attacking wise, it is all built round Mitrovic and I don't think they have many other players to be feared. We should be looking to stop crosses coming in and if we can manage mitrovic then have a chance of getting a result. Their general play at home is attacking and positive and they have started very well. Think it will take a lot of effort and a good team performance to get 1 point, let alone all 3. However thats what we should be aiming for and hopefully 1 or 2 players back from injury will help us here. -

Just to say, if anyone has 1 or 2 spare tickets to this and has to drop out at short notice, I am based in SW London and able to meet you on the day. Would love a ticket! -

Was wondering that myself- weather appears to be windy but not horrendous so far here so hopefully not. Weather warning applies until 3pm and forecast is better tomorrow. If anyone cant travel and is looking to shift a ticket, my mate (London based) is still hoping to get hold of one. -

Massive season-changer that potentially. Such an important turnaround. Hope we win and Hughton goes up in 2nd. -

13 games to go. 39 points to play for. Huddersfield (or anyone else other than Brighton) need effectively 6 points more than us to beat us to promotion taking into account goal difference. If they get points at the rate they have done all season, they will get 25.6 points (say 26). Effectively then, barring any miraculous run of form from anyone below Brighton we need 21 points to get promotion. 7 wins from 13 games. If we don't do it, we want shooting. I do think however that it wont be sealed until pretty much the very end of the season and we'll probably be looking over our shoulders a lot over the next few months... -
Puts things into perspective when we get criticised for wanting Pardew out several seasons later when he got us to 5th "Deluded Geordies"

Think we'll go up. Need to get into a good run of form these next few games- need 2 wins from Villa and Bristol (H) before 3 tough away games at Brighton, Huddersfield and Reading and then Fulham (H). Come through them without losing more than 1 and I think its more or less going to be difficult for us to drop to 3rd. -
Abel Hernandez missing 2 penalties in 2 minutes though...

They're 11th, like. If they play like they did today consistently in the league, they will be a strong contender for the playoffs and I wouldnt back against them. They passed the ball around like a top half premier league team. They were playing Hull. Who are a Premier League team. Still, that aside its a long time since Ive seen a live match where a team have dominated like that...

Went to Fulham v Hull today. Fulham were outstanding- played the ball around confidently. Attacked throughout, excellent passing game- a pleasure to watch and could have won by more than 4 goals. Hull were absolutely woeful- gave the attacking players all the time in the world. Missed 2 awful penalties. Play like that regularly and they will be a strong contender for promotion.

Newcastle United promoted back to the Premier League

Weve averaged 2.08 points per game to get to where we are. IF that is to continue at say 2 points per game, we would end up on 94. Reading would need 95 which would average 2.33 per game- better than Brightons form this season... -

We are effectively 7 points ahead of them including GD. It will be a very tough task for them to be consistent enough to get ahead of us over the next half of the season. Brighton look stronger and more consistent... -

0-1 QPR though -
Morally bad and criminally illegal are different things. The man has not been found guilty beyond reasonable doubt. Regardless of what happened, our criminal justice system is the best we have and he should now be accepted into society and compensated for the time in prison. Whether he is able to continue as a footballer is a moral issue, and clubs will have different views on that. When you have the likes of Barton (legitimately convicted) playing, I think its difficult to continue the witch hunt against Evans.

Not many clubs will have the capability to score 4 against a top (championship) team like Norwich or 6 against Wolves. Most wont score 4 goals in a game all season. -
If he's not one of the others to be uncovered, I'll eat all your hats.
