  1. also if he is the one taking the back seat didnt he have a huge hand in the building of the french and liverpool academys? rumoured to have produced a player or two over the years
  2. if houllier is in the frame i would imagine there could be some more concrete news today as he is due to leave for america to run a coaching course or something according to ssn yesterday.
  3. someone on the blackburn board who is supposedly itk reckons both keegan and shearer want the job but dont want to play second fiddle to each other. guys called nicko if you want to check his thread looking at past posts he seems to be pretty well respected on the rovers board for insider knowledge think he is a journo.
  4. watched an interview on ssn months back were he said he hadnt watched a premiership game in 2 years. just cant see how he can come back.
  5. being born and bred in the region i would be deeply offended if doesnt re-locate its not like he's on 25k and has to sell his house to buy another FFS,3m a year not enough to buy a family home these days?
  6. completely stunned. as htt says stinks of a shepard type appointment, hes done absolutely nothing in terms of league placements in the premiership. however i remember sitting in my seat this season watching pompey pass the ball round us like we werent there, who knows lets give him a chance.
  7. so do we take it our next manager is not currently in work?

    Today's Matches

just imagine if defoe missed to shizzle on ramos's parade as punishment for telling him he can leave. take that ye barsteward try sending me off to boro!!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. would be a great help to have a midfielder that understands a thing or two about ball retention. might even build the odd sync'd attack everyonce in a while. although he will have to bring with him wenger methods of coaching in regards to off the ball movement to the rest of the players.
  10. this could be a very bad idea if we are beating them 2 or 3, if hes in the crowd the mackems could target him and it could all kick off. think its a far safer situation for him to wear his top in the directors box. really dont see quinns problem.
  11. allardyce gave players wednesday & thursday off
  12. told the official mackem website otherwise
  13. on the mackem website that quinn has informed us no away team colours to be worn in the directors box.
  14. ok, no doubt he has been one of the best goal poachers in recent seasons like. no doubt newcastle's ability to help teams/players out of slumps will continue against you lot, jol will play him and he will bag a hat trick.
  15. Yeh so average that he's the only striker bar Rooney, rvn, and Henry to hit 30 premiership goals in 2 seasons. The sooner our manager realises that Berbatov and Bent are the strongest striking option weve got the better. do you mean 30 over two seasons? Shearer?Ferdinand?Hasselbaink?Owen?Cole?Yorke?Fowler? to name a few. or 30 in each season? in which case rooney has got nowhere near that.
  16. think its nailed on he will be back at some point, everytime he's on sky he seems to mention that he never wanted to leave and we are the club he looks for first despite being an everton fan as a kid, cant see it being now though more likely the summer.
  17. in following the derby defeat thread, what will getting beat off arsenals 2nd string do to confidence after the high of west ham? can see a limp 2-0 defeat to city on the horizon
  18. I'd rather we got someone better in and people stopped trying to kid themselves that this lad is anything special. Seriously, there are people that think that this kid is a TOP talent. It's f****** ludicrous. Not having a go at you btw Dave, it just astounds me when I watch this kid play, the reputation he has with some of our fans. Were his 17 goals last seasona fluke then? Playing alongside Sibierski and Dyer? God gove me strength. You go and have a look over the goals he has scored for Newcastle and come back and tell me he can't finish. His situation reminds me of Adebayor's situation at Arsenal. All my friends who support Arsenal kept telling me he was crap and just like Shola and I kept telling them he just needed to play regularly and I would happily swap Shola for him anyday. They always laughed at me about it. This season they're wetting themselves over him the twats. Pisses me off something propa. I don't need to hear about the conversations you have with your mates at the back of the special bus tbh. Funny guy. I just don't like fickle people. Had either Drogba or Adebayor come to Newcastle you would have been the sort to run them out after their first season. Both similar players to Martins. Speed, athletic ability and power, but not the best touch or awareness. Surround them with the right players and play them often enough and they will be very productive though. Simple as that. We have no choice but to play Martins everygame now. Let's see what happens with him playing alongside Viduka regularly then. We'll talk about this again in aaround four weeks. sorry but adebayor and drogba have always had awareness of teammates and the situation around them, thats why on the ball they have so much space because there touch is instant and they read the game so well, martins is nowhere near that level
  19. Martins clearly doesnt have adeybayor's footballing brain though, even if he didnt score goals he contributed to arsenals flowing attacks, martins ball at feet, look down for 5 minutes gets out of feat then dribbles, quickly ball goes back under feet, gets tackled looks at fans/ground apologetically/throws bitch fit, fellow team mate looks on in 30 yards of space. repeat on a regulat basis throughout 90 mins. it doesnt matter if you have all the raw attributes, if ya thick as S**t you wnt be good enough to get were us as fans demand the club gets back to.
  20. we might have to play arsenals ADULT team in the fa cup though?
  21. By the way, I doubt you'd be being anywhere near as charitable if it was injury-prone-England-loving Michael Owen that had just missed his second open goal in a matter of days. He f****** rolled it towards the goal tonight when he should have put his boot through it, and he put his boot through it on Sunday when all he needed to do was roll it in. couldnt agree more, thats why owen is world class and martins is run of the mill, the top teams have players that will stand up when counted wether that be physically or mentally, martins doesnt have that hence the glaring misses followed by the odd cracker.top players score important goals at important times owen does it time and time again. martins?
