  1. 1 million a year, which fits in with 20k a week. Another Ashley fuck up.
  2. Is there anyone else interested in us though? I mean the Profitable lot were never really bidding, the Malaysians were pretend (apparently) the Austrians were friends of Llambias, is FFS the only one left? Are the Americans still in the picture? If they have signed an agreement we just don't know. The fact Freddie is quiet means something.
  3. If you put Ashley Sports Direct into Google there are a few horror stories of his business practices, lack of communication with everyone, sacking PR people, in other words doing it his own sweet way. He is single minded and won't take advice from anyone. We can only hope he's in talks with someone, I really think administration isn't an option for him, his ego is as big as SJP, administration would be seen as failure and he seems to be driven by the need to be the biggest, not the biggest failure. He is clueless as to where football is concerned as we all know but will not be told to do anything by anyone, that is clear. The answer is to expect the unexpected. And whatever he does Newcastle will still stand - whatever state we are in when he is finished messing about. We will rise again.
  4. The whole thing doesn't make any sense. From Ashley buying the club in the first place all the way through to his running it into the ground now. I wonder how the media would be reacting if the people who bought Man U, Chelsea or Liverpool had done the same sort of thing to them that Ashley has done to us. It's funny how Mike Ashley is a 'fit and proper person' by the Premier League ownership rules but we'd have been better off if a Taiwanese dictator had bought us! Huh? We are one of the most talked about teams pre-season, i don't get your point at all. We are one of the most talked about teams but most of it very inaccurate and resorts to the old cliches. With the exception of George Caulkin, there are few if any print or broadcast journalists reporting the current situation in what I would consider to be an accurate manner. As ever, everyone else thinks it is all the fans fault and that Ashley has paid off all the debt and we are an ungrateful bunch obsessed with former idols and so deserve everything we get. Furthermore we would not be in the mess if we had kept Allardyce and so on. I don't even think the comparison with Leeds is that relevant other than where we might end up. There are so many times in the last 2 years that you can point to where the wrong decision has been made (if they had just made the correct decision on one of those occasions, our situation might be different now) - it has not been about chasing the dream as with Leeds and overspending in trying to achieve that. It has been about employing the wrong people, employing people with no football experience, choosing to back the wrong people, selling the wrong players, not reacting promptly and letting things drift, employing Xisco for £50k a week for 5 years (still cannot believe that is true) and Bassong on £5k for 2 or 3 years to mention just a few. Most of these things are being glossed over. We've already had a play written on this season but there is definitely a whole book waiting to be written on how not to run a football club based on the last 2 years under Ashley.
  5. Talk about made up shite. Tony Taylor doesn''t exist anywhere on Google as someone already said. Llambias has said nowhere that he was mistaken about the two bids, he wouldn't admit that. That mad.co.uk site should be banned from here tbh if that's possible like.
  6. I know this is clichéd but I'm pretty sure Leeds fans will have thought something similar at the time. Aye but they still get a full house nearly every home game. They're still alive and they have more stability than they did.
  7. In some ways, selling the mercenaries (ALL of them) - starting again and perhaps having Shearer in charge and getting some players with heart in, wouldn't be the worst scenario of all time. OK we wouldn't go up this season or even next but we'd be rid of ALL the bastards, the mismatched players, the lying Managing Director and the non speaking owner. We might even enjoy the football.
  8. Who's saying it would be easily made up? If we go into administration we've got no choice but to bite the bullet.
  9. And his profits from SD look like they've tumbled as well. I expect this has been posted before somewhere. http://www.guardian.co.uk/business/2009/jul/16/sports-direct-profits-crash?commentpage=1

    Players in public

And we're left with the English dross like Nolan and Smith.
  11. Man you can't blame Harris for Ashley's fuckups. His reputation says it's all his doing, not Harris. I bet it's a long time since Harris dealt with any club or client like Ashley's NUFC. How did this guy become a billionaire? Anyway, anyone know what happened at this meeting that was at 3:30? Any news from Donna?
  12. "But dealing with set pieces was hilarious, every single time without fail an Orient player won the header. " No change from last season then. (Sub Orient player for any Premiership team)
  13. Oh yeh, Ashley's attention will be drawn to the petition and he'll say "Oh dear - isn''t it about time the club was sold?! We'd better get a move on here". Baffling tbh.
  14. He really is bitter and twisted isn't he, if he had any dignity in him he would shut it. Just like he shut it for the six months since Christmas as Club Captain. In fact we've heard more announcements from him since he moved to Man U than in the last year here. As for slagging of his former team mates, well we may think it's right because they were shite, but there''s no solidarity there is there? The Sousers were right, it's all Owen, Owen Owen with him, he doesn''t know the meaning of team and keeping together, no wonder he was a crap captain.
  15. I don't understand why he doesn't let it go tbh, whine, whine, whine. Let your feet do the talking FFS little Mikey.
  16. Think yourself lucky! We have no choice but to stick around. At least you lot get paid.
  17. Groundhog Day Thread Alert. We're going around in circles, administration was discussed about 50 pages ago. It's like one of those dreams where you run and you're not going anywhere fast. I'm not sure what's worse, no sale news or reading this thread, the problem is it's an addiction. I wish I was a poor Newcastle United Player who's getting treated like a Taiwanese T Shirt maker apparently, all I would have to worry about would be whether the club was getting sold in time and I didn''t have to lose any money by putting in a transfer request first. I'm trying the buddhist thing, "This too will pass", I just wish it would bloodly well pass before we all die of turgidity.
  18. Christonabike. Who's helping US through the crisis? At least we'll be here after most of the overpaid twats have long left the building.
  19. This also occurred to me, I wonder if they're putting the story about to see how it's received? Oh wait, they really couldn't care what we think so that's out, but what would be the point of a leak? Unless it's dear ole JFK himself of course.
  20. I smelt a rat when he appeared on the telly a couple of weeks ago and said if Mike can't sell the club I might just be asked to take over, as if it was all decided then. So he can't sell the club then. Or he hasn't accepted any offers anyway. Ashley obvioulsy didn't like Shearer's take on spending money, even tho they wanted him "110%".
  21. That article is just copied from the Guardian, wheyse keyse Louise (see two pages back)
  22. Lack of communication between board and players to the extent that the players have now broken ranks shows unreasonableness of boardroom. Unwillingness to appoint Shearer despite everyone wanting him is unreasonable. Can't or shouldn't appoint a new permanent manager while the club is trying to get sold. If the new owner didn't want that manager and/or had their own guy earmarked then that would just be another extra expense to fork out to pay him off. Could be a deal-breaker. sORRY but that's bull. What happens if the takeover drags on until Christmas? At this rate it could do. Is Hughton supposed to bear the burden till then? And if it drags on who makes the decisions? Hughton won't, and shouldn't be expected to. And what would happen if he were to walk?
  23. I think there seems to be an impasse between Ashley and these 2 bidders so he's trawling for other buyers, hence these Austrians and Irish coming out of the woodwork, whether that's to encourage the first two to pay what he wants or simply because he thinks they may pay more. Because of the so called "baggage" the first two are obviously trying to lower their price and so a standoff is happening and the poker game is on. As Ashley can't see past his nose though he doesnt seem to realise he's going to have to put his hand deeper in his pocket if the bidders walk away. JFK here we come.
