there is no bid, unless there is a very secret bid from anyone,we won't be sold . that,my friend, i can guarentee . In the mean time Ashley is selling off players to make up for the shortfall in Shepherd's offer. Sounds plausible... even if it has been plucked out of thin air. Let's invent an ITK source to make it sound more credible. haha it wasn't plucked out of thin air but I was a bit reluctant to post it due to the general bad feeling towards any takeover rumours on here. Previous bids like malaysians and serious manboob have all been fabricated to try and force sepherds hand but he won't go any higher than 60. Ashley is reluctant to sell to him for obvious reasons so he's trying to screw him over by letting the window shut TBH sounds like something Ashley would do, as credible as anything else anyway.

Apart from being a horrible little cretin he still has the sense to stay a million miles away from Ashley and Llambias.
-
I know you can't believe he said but I thought JFK couldn't come back to work before December (according to his interview last week).
-
Probably because he has an ego the size of a house and thinks we'll all love him after the team rally around and win 6 games on the trot. The same patronising logic that Ashley & Llambias own in spades. We're thick and fickle Geordies, we'll love him the same as Shearer and Keegan in a little while. That'll be his take on it (and theirs). TBH he reminds me of an early version of Phil Brown, permatan, nose job, massive ego with little reason for it. When did Phil Brown take a team to a Champions League semi final? Phil Brown - journeyman football player and poor manager David O'Leary - Arsenal and Irish playing legend at the highest level and excellent track record and credentials in management. That's like comparing chalk with cheese. I was talking more about their permatan obsessions and egos tbh. Egos the size of houses we can do without at the moment, it will get in the way and he'll fall out with Mikey at the first obstacle, I''m sure of that. But you never know, it might never happen, who the fuck knows.

I thought we'd been through this? Ashley doesn't want to hire Shearer as manager. He's had his fair share of dealings with f***ing about with Toon legends and if Shearer ended up walking, regardless of whose fault it was Ashley would end up getting hated even more up here. Why would he put himself through it AGAIN? In a nutshell - Shearer wants to spend money and Ashley doesn't - no chance he will offer Shearer the job, we had better get used to it.
-
He's not getting the job because he asked for 20 million to spend on players to get us back up again, Ashley thinks we can get a few loan players in earning 2k a week and they'll get us back up. Of course Ashley, being the football expert will know best.
-
He is so clueless about how the fans feel, the city feels and the club itself, he thinks if the team win a couple of games we'll be chanting his name, he is clueless.
-
I can't get over the fact he thinks he can appear on Saturday as if everything is fine, I really hope he does appear, because if people react the way I think they will he'll be selling the club for 1 pound on Monday, never mind 100 fuckin million.
-
"Ashley’s PR people said today: "As it stands the process is still ongoing, although it’s a slow process. As far as Mike is concerned, he either sells it or he doesn’t. Then he will make plans accordingly." Jesus wept Clueless twat.

f*** me. Isn't this the same "who's niall hickman? - You're a CUNT" that JFK brought attention to? Well done Joe, you had SOME use. That pathetic article sours Sir Bobbys memory, use that to have a pop at Joey, thr c*** deserves hate mail for the rest of his life. Try [email protected]

As I said before, Joe Kinnear would be primed to say he had been offered the job, they're underhand and devious, as the business world knows from Ashley's dealings in the city. I definitely believe these stories are planted. I was worried about OLeary until I read the line about what would happen if Moat puts a bid together, do you really think OLeary would take the job on Monday knowing there MIGHT be a bid in from Moat on Tuesday? Even he's not that desperate.
-
I can only hope the Mail are as clueless as ever. Sounds like a planted story to bring out more money from Moat.
-
It's all a smokescreen, just like the Kinnear story was "Hi Joe, Derek here, do us a favour and tell the stupid journos you've been offered the job, the gullible Geordies will lap it all up, including that geezer Moat who hates your guts, and he'll have to up his price, course when it all comes out we'll deny it and say you've gone gaga, don't worry we'll make it worth your while, if it doesn't work with you we'll say it's David Bleary or whatever the fuck his name is, that'll put the frighteners up the barstards."
-
Strange they haven't talked to him yet though. I wonder if the Moat talks progress Shearer can persuade him to stay?
-
What happened to the Iranian story? Did anyone ask where the Sun reporter got it from? Wasn't it Llambias himself? Perhaps he's just putting all this stuff out to see how far it runs and to take some pressure off. For all we know Ashley could be sitting in Hawaii (or wherever the fuck he is) having conversations with Llambias at Casino Land in London on how to spread as many conflicting rumours as possible, either to bring out some unknown bidders, or to just pacify the Geordie public. They could be doing it for a larf, or have other motives, who knows. As for the journos, they obviously dont know a thing, and have been stung by all the hoaxes. In other words, Thomo could be telling the truth and Llambias could be lying, let's face it, it wouldn't be the first time. I just can't see a credible MD sitting down and saying Ok lads keep it schtum, but we're sold, but of course we know, as George Caulkin said, he has zero credibility.

Defo red herring, look out for the yanks. That's my conspiracy theory.
-
This - looks like a huge red herring to deflect us away from the real purchaser.
-
Maybe he has enough Samurai swords and fancies his own Tsunami?
-
Ashley will do it his way whatever happens, he has done it his way all along with Sports Direct, annoying the City wallahs and people tearing their hair out about his behaviour over his dealings with SDs shares etc. He just doesn't care what people think. However I find it refreshing that the Chronicle is at last taking a stance, as someone said other papers just take the cop and tweak it - and if it gets the message out then it can't be bad.
-
I would say apart from Taylor, it's definitely cash.
-
Cynical I know but I can't imagine the likes of Nolan and Smith are staying "to fight" (why didn't they "fight" at the end of last season?) for promotion purely because of their massive wages? I''d rather have the likes of Beye and Bassong and martins over them every single day of the week. I expect the ones willing to stay and "fight" are the ones that Bassong said were more interested in their holidays than being relegated after the Villa game. And how awful Beye etc "fly off" to Europe after the game, wtf?! Why shouldn't they? Is foreign travel banned like?
-
1 million a year, which fits in with 20k a week. Another Ashley f*** up. Yup. The poor lamb has to live off someone. So we must be paying him one full years wage to forgo the remainder of his contract (2 to 3 years)?
-
Quite possible one of the greatest source-quotes in the history of journalism The Times and Shields Gazette are just taking a wild stab in the dark. They know as f*** all much as we do. Caulkin is the only journalist I have any respect for, I have much more faith in his articles then the usual tabloid drivel. And he's proved to be right more often than not. He's the only one I trust as well. The rest are clueless. The first thing I was taught at Uni las year was that 99% of the time when a print journalist has a story that they want to run, but no quotes, they make up a 'source'. Caulkin's article stinks of it. Absolutely its a staple of the tabloid journalist, its probably only one rare occasions when these "sources" are actually real. Just saying I usually give him the benefit of the doubt because he's the only 'journalist' I trust in the slightest.
