David Craig's statement on Sky sports News completely contradicts Llambias's comment a couple of weeks back that 2 bids of over £100 million had been lodged. These 2 are taking the piss out of the people and are deliberately decimating our football club. I now have no doubts that Ashley has no intention of selling NUFC and that he will put the club into administration if and when it suits him. Why don't we just roll back to Page 1 of this thread instead of adding to it?
-
It did cross my mind when that Chawke appeared yesterday that there are no bids Ashley is happy with and he is trawling around looking for buyers, and some desperate soul got in touch with the Drumaville mob to see if they were interested. I hope to hell I'm wrong though. We're going to end up with Ashley and Kinnear cos no fucker wants to buy us.

It is just the same as being on strike against poor conditions of employment. Relatively speaking, the players are experiencing poor working conditions, and are perfectly entitled to speak out. Jaysus, poor working conditions? Diddums, bless every last one of them, lord knows what the sweatshop workers in the far east making football tops would think of that one. And the thought that any potential owner is sitting watching SSN or reading the Ronnie is truly laughable. As for Ashley when did he ever give a flying fuck what anyone says, does or threatens? The majority of players couldn't give a flying fuck either, they showed that last season, apart from a precious three or four. And Nolan, he's champing at the bit waiting to get out of here, we hope.

Whoever it is won't even of heard of Harper, never mind Sky Sports News. They'll take over (or not) when they are ready and have read every last word of every account related bit of info since 19canteen, not because some goalie tells them to. Anyway the players will be alright, they know most of them will be sold, or they can comfort themselves with their massive salaries. Pity the fans, not the players.
-
As if that would ever happen. Remember these are footballers we are talking about here, they don't know the meaning of industrial action or solidarity or any of that. The players will do NOWT, as long as they are getting paid they will moan and bitch about having no manager but that's it. The only time they'll get worried is if the stop getting their enormous and unrealistic wages.
-
But we are in the Championship next season??? Beat me to it. Glad to see Owen training well at Man U, wasn't there always praise for his training here too? Then he'd play and be shite.
-
Aye - let him piss off the only people who can maybe save the club. Great - that's all we need, an owner who doesn't give a flying fuck whether Shearer or your Auntie is in charge. To say your logic is flawed would be a massive understatement.
-
Shite journalism I would guess, if handing in a transfer request means losing a penny of their enormous wages they will stay put.The problem will be getting rid of the bastards to clubs who have more sensible wage policies. They want to be grateful they aren't fans like us who have no choice but to have a life long allegiance to an underperforming white elephant of a club. And as long as wor Hab stays I couldn't care who goes tbh.

You've obviously not watched any soaps where they say "I'll get my lawyer to draw up the papers, and then my people will get in touch with your people and we'll close the deal". Or something.
-
Don't get our hopes up man, this Cragg fellah looks bout a million times more suitable than Llambias to run anything, never miind a casino.
-
What the fuck is "more than two" bids? Three? Four? Sixty two? What a strange thing to say, even for him.
-
How did he piss Real about exactly? Was lethal when selected for them - had a brilliant strike rate. Brilliant strike rate or not Capello obviously doesn't like him from his time there, I'll be surprised if he picks him for England, even if he is a Man U player. Heskey and Crouch hardly scored any goals yet he picks them. Here's hoping for a non call up anyway, just to annoy the little prick. Capello did actually like Owen at Real Madrid, if he didn't he wouldn't of played. Capello told you this himself did he? Capello who left owen out of a league game a week after owen had scored 4 goals in a Cup game?

Looks like they've stopped his medication......................

Sounds to me like Ashley has offered him the job if they can't sell the club. -
I think it's a great move for Owen and Ferguson, as me old mam would say "it'd be a shame to spoil two houses". They'll crash and burn and how we will laugh then, hopefully.
-
Hab don't take any notice of this. You're our main man now.
-
I agree about him waiting until August 1st to sign for someone else. The excuse now is he's "waiting to hear from Aston Villa before he makes up his mind about joining Everton". I hope he proves me wrong but I doubt it. Don't take any notice of Piers Morgan, he's the man who said he was thinking of stopping supporting Arsenal because they hadn't won anything for FOUR years. Try forty arsehole.
-
Perhaps we shouldn't touch this thread or the Shearer gets the job thread unless there's some definite news, otherwise we're just going around in circles, getting deeper and deeper in the self pitying mire.
-
Ah yeah, I've heard him before. dustynrg's post threw me because he asked if it was the same Caulkin. I don't know who was supposedly on tonight talking about us, but someone on Toontastic said it was Caulkin and he was adamant something was happening tomorrow. f*** knows. :-[ yay, courtney caulkin schmaukin. That Courtney seems to be close to things usually though, although we're all clinging to massive size straws.
-
Is that Caulkin the same guy who writes in the Times AND appears on Talksport as the North East correspondent? It never occurred to me they were the same person? Probably because I only half listen to TS as most of it is horse shite, yet Caulkin in the Times sees to be the real deal.

Uh oh - Daily Mail alert, Daily Mail mind you http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1195287/Alan-Shearer-land-Newcastle-United-job-summoned-London-final-Mike-Ashley-talks.html?ITO=1490 Alan Shearer to land Newcastle job after being summoned to London for final Ashley talks by COLIN YOUNG Last updated at 12:20 AM on 25th June 2009 Alan Shearer is on the verge of being installed as Newcastle manager on a permanent basis as he heads for crunch talks with owner Mike Ashley and managing director Derek Llambias on Thursday. Shearer has been waiting for news on the future of the troubled club, and has been in the dark over negotiations between several consortia, Ashley and former Football League chairman Keith Harris who has been given the remit to sell Newcastle. Alan Shearer Crunch talks: Shearer is set to be named Newcastle boss after talks in London He has been summoned to a meeting with the current Newcastle board in London and is hoping to get the green light to take over the managerial reigns permanently. Ashley and Llambias have said all along that they would only appoint Shearer if all prospective buyers backed that decision. The former England skipper is now hoping to be in charge when the squad return for pre-season training on Wednesday, and has plans to offload several highly-paid members of his squad before they embark on a July tour of Holland and Ireland. Followed by s**** about Owen Stoke etc
-
Somewhere I read that the two interested parties were foreign, American and Middle East, unless FFS has changed his nationality like, nothing's impossible.
-
It's simple, everything is worth whatever someone else will pay for it. So if a consortium thinks NUFC is worth 100 million, theyll pay it. Or offer near to it anyway.

I always felt with Bramble that he was destroyed here by MOTD punters, they started showing his EVERY mistake, mistakes you see other defenders make too, but then they got a theme going and EVERY week it would be Oh well let's look at Bramble's mistakes this week hahaha. And it must have had a terrible effect on his confidence. At Wigan he didnt get that attention and even if he did make clangers (and he did) they weren't even commented on, I noticed that a couple of times, the match commentator might say "What was Bramble doing there?" but it was never mentioned again, even by that great defender Mark Lawrence. I don't think he's great but I don't think he's that bad either. I'll be interested to see MOTD this year and who they pick out for defensive errors, it might be him but it probably won't be.

Ignore the WUM Just be glad that wor Habib has chosen to wear the yellow and white of NUFC, Christ he must love us if he is seen in that abomination. So that's Taylor and Hab staying for definite.
