I like this 11 but not quite that system! Ben Arfa, Ba and Cisse as a three with Perch and Tiote holding and Cabaye playing further forward. Santon and Jonas bombing forward from full back with the added protection of Perch and Tiote. while your at it...might as well give perch the no. 10 jersey and give him a free role

he will never become good enough to deserve a start imo. very frustrating player to watch....sadly! Liked what pardew did with the formation....it really worked to start with....but obertan isnt good enough! Think we should have had cisse on top and ba in obertans position. we played some long balls....ba doing ok for flick ons...but obertan didnt manage to make the runs + he cant hold up the ball. Can easily see ba playing the role that obertan did...playing deeper and switching with arfa....cisse always in the box! obertan only have a role to play as sub coming in on the right to making runs a at a tired RB.

i think tiote will stay next season unless an silly offer comes in. imo he is not good enough for top 4 teams as a regular starter. he still have things to learn and nufc will be a really good place to do that. Chelsea is the only place in england he could go...as i see now!

And boom goes the dynamite. That is a worryingly accurate summary of how we play. Saturday was particularly bad, it really was f***ing dire to watch. Krul, Willo, Simpson and R.Taylor are all at home playing limited, hoof ball. But the rest of our team are ball players, or at least comfortable in possession. Ba and Cisse looked confused and f***ed off at times, it was one dimensional, rigid and the subs barely changed our style. Such a waste of some really top players. Results are important yes, but I can see them drying up if we continue with this clueless approach. We don't have the personnel to play a direct style, so why pesevere with it? Going off the HBA topic a bit, but thought this post was spot on and wanted to comment. agree

probably not...but he should still get a chance on the rw ahead of raylor and obertan. on his day he could easily be our best player (attacking).

realized against wolves have big a threat he is....he could really really good cutting in from the RW as we saw....he will score goals and assist many if given a good run for the rest of the season. He has to defend and we will have to cover for him often....but as i see it we have nothing to loose. We will not end lower than 7th anyway and after the weekend i dont really think we can get 4th place...so its time for him to get a run and get integrated and get used to the RW position....i think he is willing to play out wide. best things he has produced this season has come from out right imo.

I think we played better football last season tbh. We've just grinded out more results this season due to good defending, luck and good finishing. Ba is also a key factor to our current position.

thats why i wont pardew or the club to go for an "special" concept or style. We are still in progress and the best and fastest is to implement a playing concept throughout the ranks. It will be easier to recruit the right players and attract others if they know our system. Somehow i dont see us develop in any diretion really at the moment.....i might be wrong? he are where we should be with the squad we have but in order to develop further we need a strong concept. We cannot sign "expensive" quality like arfa and then not be able to fit him into the side. still early days though...

i wouldn´t mind him as a back up for santon. Would be mad not to move santon to rb beginning of next season!

i agree on all points. Our best starting 11 should be able to challenge for europe...without a doubt. We are a bit surprised we are already there....but our best starting 11 has so much quality. Pardew has to be given credit for the passion and spirit the lads has been showing in many games this season...it has given us more points than pardews tactics. Arfa showed with his two efforts that he offers so much more than obertan. Taylor is now first choice on the RM position because he is more reliable defensively....and still offers something attacking. But pardew has found (he believes and it is true to some point) that his tight concept is working and therefore is afraid to change things. My concern is that i dont see us develop in style really....we should be able to play nice football with this squad...and also for the future....the next couple of years (under pardew) we should have a strong concept of how we want to play clever and more attracting football....we need a system which doesn´t needs to change so much depending on the opposition. The long style can be and have been effective for us.....but its far from the best solution when you have players like arfa and cabaye in midfield. I hope we come up with a strong playing concept which is more attractive....that will make it easier to attract players in the future and also easier to get the right ones for the system so you dont end up with situations like arfa. End this season as good as possible with what ever works...but from next season we should develop our style imo. We could easily end up with our stars players like arfa and cabaye leaving cos the style/concept doesn´t suit them...which will be a shame!
