with all the games we got this season mike could easily start about 30 games. I kinda like the fella but that wont take us to the next level. If AP & Ashley were serious about going for 4th or anything, then mike should be playing a lot less or not at all. sad but true

i presume AP and the staff have calculated on how many points we need to be no 1 & 2. Our aim must be to advance from the group and hopefully we can do this by playing as many youngsters and squad players as possible. If we need to win, lets say, the last 2 matches, then i really hope AP will field a strong enough team to succeed. We should take this competition seriously and try and win.

is this what you hope for or what you expect? it will not happen imo It is what I would like to see happen, pretty similar to what we saw in the second half on Monday. I feel this will be a high scoring 3-2 win for us i personally think arfa is best on the RW especially at cutting in (like messi). could probably do that from the left as well....maybe not so naturally and lethal though.

that agent is a d*ck. I do not believe his is that upset and with his current form and cisse not scoring yet he should be playing. maybe pardew should just go with the 4-4-2 ? im more hooked on 4-3-3 but im not sure its the best formation at this time. Still think we need a quality player for LW before it would makes lethal. 4-4-2 with arfa on the RW and cisse and ba on top will score many goals....all of them also cable of scoring of out of nowhere. Get our foundation sorted until we hit form all over. goals will come with those 3 playing at the same time.

i also wanted to see cabaye in an more advanced position. But i think (maybe) the everton game showed us that he probably is best playing a bit deeper...almost in line with tiote, coz with his passing and vision he is best with game in front of him. he can still make the runs forward and be a treat. in a line up with cisse, ba, arfa, LW? i dont mind him playing deeper....he still makes great assists from there.

Good and Abeid are nowhere near the first team at the minute. Gosling will start and Willi I'd imagine. Sammy might be in there somewhere, probably the bench. Sammy is nowhere near fit yet is he ? Forgot about Gosling but they seem to like Good, has been made Captain and I think he may get the nod. Sammy played 90 mins for the reserves last Friday and i think is getting another run out tonight against the mackems. That team will loose imo.

wouldnt be too worried about his performance yesterday. first start in ages, baines, wrong tactics, everybody was poor. give him a new start against maritimo. What is his best/preferred position?

much better at cm yesterday...didnt do well at RB

didnt look good didnt look bad either for their goals imo. still prefer him to elliot....sure our defends does as well. He is calm and experienced. his distribution wasnt that bad either. Ba also did better than cisse in holding on to the long balls.

WOW, what a game...or should say 2nd half. So many things so reflect on. Must admit i was quiet happy when i saw our lineup/formation. Happy to see marveaux...mostly because i haven't seen him much and he looks like the type of player i like. But he was very disappointing....like all the others and he had a hard time against Baines....who is really playing well imo. Hope to see marveaux given another chance in Euro. Pardew made the changes i personally asked/hoped for at half time...which was good. Unfortuneatly I'm not always that keen on the 4-4-2 but it worked yesterday. 1 thing that we learned imo is that cabaye is probably best playing deeper...he gets the ball more so he gets to make more good passes....he can dictates the game better when he has the game in front of him. He is also good at winning the ball....so maybe we should play him deeper. still i hope to see a 4-3-3 with cabaye, anita and tiote in cm....where cabaye would play "in front of" the 2 others. harper was ok....still prefer him to Elliot. Only seen Elliot once or twice...he was horrible. Think harper and he experience is still to be chosen...also think our defenders would prefer that. Cisse wasn´t that bad....he had a hard time fighting distin alone for the long balls. Ba was awesome which is nice to see....imagine when they start scoring at the same time.....has it happened yet? Sholas chest pass 3 metres in the air was out of this world. Really happy about his role as supersub and his professionalism....keep it up.

I would imagine it being the other way around with Pardew not trusting Anita to play in a midfield two as he would have to cover a lot more ground. I'd love it if we went there with Tiote-Jonas behind Cabaye and just bossed the game. I know we could. Still waiting to see this: Krul Anita Taylor Coloccini Santon Tioté Jonas Cabaye Hatem Marveaux/Ba Cissé like that...if colo and krul are fit? would start ba over marveaux on the left

if krul had to be replaced i really would like Lloris.....so annoying that he went to spurs.

my thoughts on this summer´s window are.... well the squad has improved a lot where as the first team hasn´t. Bigi, amalfitiano, (maybe Good) are already promising players who can push on for a start if someone is out. We have many players like that.....who is almost good enough for the first team. cup games and European football is where they will get their games and experience which is positive. Anita looks like a good buy. hard to say more. great he covers more than one position.....but i can´t help thinking he was the "cheap" solution as he covers RB,LB,CDM and CM. Yes, we managed to hold on to our key players and they should be stronger together this year, but i feel we left them down by not signing at least 1,2 or 3 more quality players in positions like CB, RB, LW,FW. If we had got just some of these postions strengthen then we would really have been able to challenge in all competitions. Its a sign of ambition not to sell any key players....but actually i feel this window has shown lack of ambition (even though the squad is stronger). Hopefully the key players doesn´t feel this way. We should be stronger this year as mentioned but it will be very hard to get 4th place which is our target....i hope! Not signing Debuchy for that reasonable price that was mentioned sums everything up really. If the price mentioned is true and that he wanted to come also....and we didn´t go for it really dissapoints me. Most important position and we did nothing doesn´t make any sense to me....the players most wonder as well? A bit stronger over all....but why should players like arfa, cabaye, tiote, cisse etc. stay on next year if our ambition is only to challenge for 4th place?

Feel sorry for him, if you can do that for someone making that kind of money for playing football?

from what i saw yesterday. key players like cabaye and cisse is not in form yet. was happy when i saw chelseas line up. we were way too defensive. 4-4-2 is not that good for us. we should have targeted them much more. 4-3-3 with jonas - anita - cabaye in the centre. they should be able to challenge meireles, mikel & bertrand. not end of the world but we need to get important players fit and change the system. arfa is not suited for the 4-4-2 imo. he is wasted when he has to start so deep. very important win against spurs. Get debuchy in and play a 3 man midfield with anita - tiote - cabaye (jonas as sub) .
