Entitled to your opinion of course, but he's never come close to justifying that tag in our colours IYAM. That's true, but the glimmers we've seen of him when he's actually played, clearly shows the man has talent. At least more so than Butt and co in midfield. the tackle alone was enough to suspend him, imo! (based on his history since he came here)

I think Shearers decision is alright! Everybody knew how important barton could be in our survival....including himself, i guess! The club have backed him through all his mistakes...and in return he p*sses all over the fans, club and shearer who even before the match told him to behave (i think i read somewhere) If we/shearer didn´t drew the line here....then every behavior of the players would be acceptable! f*ck off you unthankful c*nt

agree! but only owen and martins on top doesn´t seem to work. Maybe it could with another midfield. Our midfield is still the problem....we haven´t really created anything the whole season. Like you said even a duo with torres and drogba would struggle to score goals! Still owen cant really blamed....though he have looked slighty uninterested at some points! he shouldn´t be captain...but again who should? This team lack everything, the structure of the squad is absolutely unbelievable! Its crucial for newcastle that shearer stays as manager after this season no matter if we stay up or not! I trust him to sort it out! Sure he has located the problems....he just can´t do anything right now....except motivate and build up the players confident eventhough he don´t like the players!

i think we should go for a 4-3-3 .... Attacking is our best defence! If we play 4-3-3, owen should play right behind martins and viduka our central midfield is wack....therefore we could play smith/butt, guthrie and jonas....they are the most hard working.....they should focus on the defence and play direct to our 3 strikers and let them create something. viduka as a target man...if he cant play a whole match then replace with caroll! Owen is poor in 4-4-2....but it isn´t really his fault alone. He need someone to create chances.....he just has to stand the right place....which he is good at!

it is just the message i got from the interviews with the danish press when he was released, where he was specifically looking to the premiership. he is also looking to get back into the national team, something which will be a lot harder if he plays at a lower level. but as he is very happy with being close to glasgow, without having to play there, i may be we can convince him to stay. i also think he could be very good in the championship. He is not good enough to hold a regular first place in the Pl, i think. He could be alright in the championship....and i think he would stay if we wanted him. Close to glasgow, regular first team football could still earn him call up for the national team. And he would think we only in the championship for 1 season.

Slightly of topic....but didn´t know where else to write my thoughts! If we stay up (which im not very sure that we do) these are the players i would like to see in the 1st team squad next year: Manager: Shearer Goalkeeper: Harper. Wouldn´t mind we tried to sign Kameni....should be out of contract and used to be good....must admit i havent seen him play recently. Havent seen our younger keepers enough to judge if any of them are ready for 1st team football....but it sounds like Forster, Krul and soderberg all the potential needed. Defenders: Colo, Beye, Enrique, Bassong (Ryan & Steven Taylor) Don´t know how close youngsters like Kadar and tozer are to the 1st team? Midfielders: Jonas, Barton (needs to play a whole season without interuptions....could turn out really good), Guthrie (but only as sub) and Lua Lua. again i dont know the level of Vuckic, inman and danquah? Strikers: Martins, Caroll, Ranger, Xisco and owen can stay if he accepts a lower wage So Shearer should focus on especially our midfield. needs to bring in both creative and defensive orientated players + wingers who can cross! We could also use 1 player for every position in defence. Get rid of: capaca, geremi, smith, ameobi, duff, viduka, butt, nolan, (løvenkrands).....that should make some money available for wages...maybe not for transfers since i cant see any of these players leave for over 2-3 mill tops. simple as that....but it will be a very very busy transfer window just to accomplise half of it

i think an very important factor is whether he can manage to have the personal relation to the players....can´t find the english word. But he tells them face to face why they are not picked etc. keep them happy! (i think he can) To compare i think thats the part where a manager like Michael Laudrup has failed....both in Brøndby and Getafe!
