Aye, I don’t have a problem with Gordon’t ability, it’s his character I’m not a fan of. He’s got the application of Marcus Rashford and the personality of Joey Barton, a dangerous combination. Would rather we went all in on Barnes, because if we don’t another Premier League team will and he’ll be a consistent performer with them while we’ll be nursing Gordon through whatever mood he’s in at at the moment.

I really do hope he does thinks he’s too good for us. Anything to kick up a fuss and get the hell out of our football club. It won’t make sense but I think Rice is good technically when he’s running 100 miles an hour, not thinking and just in the heat of the battle. But when he runs back and picks the ball up off of the back four, he won’t know what to do with it, pass sideways and drift forward. He’ll try, though. He will drop deep and attempt to be that player but it looks awkward. Same as Joe, he’s not a midfielder but he’ll give his all and create a moment or two that can change a game. Based on that alone, I’d have him in my starting 11 most games. Low blocks I give the nod to Miley.

Joe’s got a bit of a mythical presence about him. Players are scared of him in the tunnel. He’s kind of like Rice for Arsenal, not exactly the best technically but a massive character and someone you’d want on the pitch if 100% fit as he wants to win. Pops up when you least expect, unreal technique one moment(Forest goal) then overplaying and forcing the next. But still, I take the good with the bad as I know he’ll give his all and go down fighting. He’s a big game player, too. Surprised he was on the bench Sunday (unless it was a fitness issue), it’s exactly his type of game.

He’d be the type of player I’d be looking at going into a Champions League season for depth.
