  1. Ronaldinho was okay at Milan. But what really clouds my judgement is leaving the best team in the world to join an inferior team and league at the age of 24/25. Aside from the 2013 ConFed Cup, Neymar was either injured or underperformed at major tournaments. Injured for the 2019 Copa America. There were so many Copa Americas going on from 2014-2016 and he never won any, he probably wasn’t present. That’s the type of player he is/was - moody. Shows up when he wants, if the occasion suits him. Probably the biggest let down of a player I’ve ever seen.
  2. Neymar’s been irrelevant for six years now. The moment he went to PSG, his career was over. His idol Ronaldinho went from PSG to Barcelona. This idiot went to PSG from Barcelona. Absolute waste of a career.
  3. I like Maguire and it annoys me how much stick he gets because he’s not a bad player. There was a time Man utd fans were praying he’d be fit for the Europa League final. I think the problem was when Varane came in. Maguire was the leader before that but Varane is obviously the better player. Had Maguire taken a back seat and let Varane do the coordinating, he could have survived but bossing around a four time Champions League World Cup winning defender was not the way to go.
  4. Hating the new reffing initiative. Players are going to be sent off left, right and center. Looked like it was zero tolerance for protestation, so one technical foul or late challenge will see players being sent off. Refs will have a massive influence on games going forward. And what happens if half the team protest the red? Yellows and reds presented all around for the protest. Football’s far too emotional a game for this to work.
  5. Feel like this whole ref initiative came about because Jose Mourinho was waiting in the parking lot for Anthony Taylor. Cheers, Jose, you fucking prick.
  6. Wow, what a signing. Go on Brighton.
  7. I think Grealish is a better player than Almiron but in Man City’s set up, Grealish is more of a passenger where as in our set up, Almiron is a genuine goal threat I know Pep plays him and all that but I don’t see Grealish effecting games like he did at Villa. Maybe two or three or maybe even four phases occurred that led to the ball being where it landed and KDB played a pass to Haaland but I’ve seen plenty of City goals where Grealish had no involvement whatsoever. It’ll be like Ederson to Akanji to Rodri to KDB to Haaland.
  8. Well I would say Almiron in our set up is more effective than Grealish in Man City’s.
  9. The point was more he’s scored in two friendlies in a row and in these pre season games, he’s looking like he’s continuing his form from last season. I don’t think he has to be a “top six winger”. Would you say Antonio Valencia was a top six winger? I think he just needs to be exactly who he is and chip in with goals like he’s doing. The “top six players” in our side are Isak and Wilson and they’re the one the side seems to be centered around. Their goals will win us games and points. I think Miggy is a solid Premier League player now and should 100% start every game that he’s available. My thing is, Miggy has been here now for four years and has climatized to the league. He’s 29 and as much as 21 year olds will be going for 50-60 million, you can’t buy experience. Those players will have teething issues and I guarantee Miggy will be running past them with ease because with his experience and know how, he’s a legitimate threat to teams now.
  10. Wasn’t going to tag you every time he did something good. Was just for this one as it’s recent after your comments. Just vindicating my point that last season wasn’t a purple patch and Miggy has become a bonafide Premier League player.
  11. Aye, all the games are on at 10am for us. No football after that Might tune in to that GameforUkraine thing.
  12. Even more annoying all the games are being played at the same time.
  13. Sheff Weds 97 passes Saints 413
  14. It's shocking. Southampton having their way with them here.
  15. Didn't Wednesday beat us last season?
  16. Southampton absolutely pissing this.
  17. No way Ward-Prowse should be playing in this league.
  18. Thought Russell Martin was that Norwich manager.
  19. But in what’s relative to us, Almiron is one of our best players and he was scoring, assisting, threatening last season and even scored in the pre season so I know he’ll be very important to us this season. Personally I’ve tried improving my weak left foot and after about eight months of training, it’s gotten maybe 5% better and it still feels unnatural to use it unless it’s in an instinctual position. I heard Shearer say when he got into the Southampton first team, he started working on his left foot and coaches told him to stop as it would curtail his development. I remember Antonio Vanencia being extremely one footed and he played over 300 times for Man Utd. It’s not the be all end all. Seven years after the joining the club, people went mad when he used his left foot. https://www.sportsjoe.ie/amp/football/antonio-valencia-crossed-the-ball-with-his-left-foot-and-everyone-freaked-out-109007 Edit: if Eddie was unhappy with Miggy’s cutting in on his left all the time, wouldn’t he play him left wing to maximize his attributes? He obviously sees it as a plus and thus plays right wing despite being left footed.
  20. Well Robben only had one move and it worked for him. One footed or not, the guy has 20 Premier League goals and a number of assists to his name so it’s not like it’s effecting him too much.
  21. Yea James IMO is the best RB in the world if fit. I say this all the time, but when he received the ball, he does so with his studs fully on top of it. You see goalkeepers do it to show they have complete control but they have time. For a RWB to do it is insane. Shows that players are afraid to press him. It was nice seeing Gordon get some change out of him in the friendly.
  22. Miggy always had final third quality. He just missed his chances like on his debut against Everton. I have no problem with him being our preferred right sided attacker for the next three to four seasons. He’s older, wiser and a genuine threat to full backs. You have to remember Miggy is 29 now and is in the prime of his career. As players retire and new ones come in, Miggy will be a a step or two above them and as they’re finding their feet, Miggy will be running past them as he’s gotten over the initial teething problems that come along with being a Premier League footballer Between Gordon, Barnes, Almiron, Isak, Wilson, and Joelinton if needed, we have enough fire power to make it through the season IMO. We were having trouble finding a place for Maxi toward the end of the season so I think we’ll be okay going forward. And as far as Miggy not being as good as Salah, Mahrez, Saka, Foden, that’s fine because he doesn’t have to be. I think Isak and Wilson will shepherd that responsibility. If Miggy can chip in with 8-10 PL goals, that’s a bonus and I’m fully convinced he’s capable of that
