What the fuck do they go to the match for then? A quiet wank in the corner, followed by a grotty pie at half time? I'm not slating those who wanted to move for cheaper seats, but christ on a bike...will they join in with at least cheering the team and maybes the odd song?

Manure away was sold out. Also, I think too big a deal is being made about this attendance malarkey. Lets put it in perspective...I watched the Stoke highlights and spotted empty seats. There first home game in the top flight for god knows how long, and they have empty seats... I'm guessing its more to do with financial situations around and I believe the article on http://www.true-faith.co.uk/tf/editorials.nsf/ab283684d03f231d80256b520047d321/5640c40d996db202802574af003da2b2?OpenDocument tends to explain a little more. I'm not one for covering old ground but heres my summary as to why the attendance was 5k approx less than normal: Playing the most anti-footballing team in the league thus people turned off as such Majority of normal household goods/food has went up Unemployment/redundancy within the region has increased due to the 'Credit Crunch' Gas/Electric bills have increased by 25% Busiest weekend for all UK airports for outgoing passengers Away support are normally allocated 2-5k tickets, Bolton bought under 1k and then sold the tickets back to Newcastle, thus turnstile tickets available. 4+ years of shite football and some people have lost faith, even those who watched our demise last season under BSA Unclear message by the Owners until the article in the official magazine, and poor circulation of this full article due to limitations on how/where to buy it. Corporate seats not being renewed All of the above have an affect on ticket sales but considering we still manage 46k+ and still had the highest attendance in the league at on Saturday is not something we should be complaining about. I'm sure after this weeks transfer activities have been concluded and our team continue grinding out decent results people will find those extra few pennies and head back up barrack road.

Good to hear that it was audible down there. Just glad to be back on home turf singing my heart out. My head was battered
-
Well, for not singing my throat is certinally fucked!!! I thought the atmosphere was decent at times up there. Glad I moved anyhow, at least I can sing and have a laugh than being looked at as if im mental. Went a bit quiet nearing the end of the first half and was muted with sporodic chants until Given saved the pen, then it exploded. Was quality for the last 25 minutes. I'm not slating other parts of the ground, but hopefully we can get some of them chanting again next match at home eh? Gallowgate especially.

lol @ fuckpigs Aye I know what you are saying...strange how the likes of Bolton/Blackburn/Smogs/everyotherunofthemillshittyteam never get slated about having wank attendance, yet we have 5k less than normal (and bare in mind 2k of them were away seats imo), we get shit for it. Like you say...the joys of being easy targets and a paper selling team.

Listening to that interview I don't think he knows that there is a specific wow signing. He is just hopeful that there might be. Actually I take that back. Looking at his cheeky grin, it suggests he knows of something specific they are trying for. Just watched it...Keegan bloody well knows something!!! Tell us KK you secretive swine you!!!
-
Fucking idiots the lot of them. Personally, we didnt perform as well as we could until after the penalty was saved. They played the usual 'Anti-football' and we didnt like it. Given saved the pen, the crowd went mental after that and then the team picked up and think they realised that they were playing Bolton and took then game to them. As for the bollocks about 'Where are all the fans...' 3rd best attendance in the league today? Where do they make this shit up from?
-
I'm a bit wary of getting anyone from the Belgian league, seeing as 'Gooch' plays for the champions. Doesn't he play with Alkmaar or someone in the Dutch league? Standard Liege Its deff Alkmaar. Pretty sure its Standard Liege as when Liverpool played them they were mentioning that he was out injured...could be wrong mind.

Plenty of shit re-itterated about the Keegan @ Loggerheads with the board over Owen theme today http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/article1596680.ece http://www.express.co.uk/football/view/58099/Keegan-and-Toon-braced-for-Owen-D-day http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/football/premier_league/newcastle/article4593384.ece I especially like the times's headline as apposed to the other two...suprised how much difference a semi-decent journalist makes to an article and doesnt spin in on its head 100% but more importantly...I hope this will make the headlines and stop us being centre of attention for once http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/m/man_city/7578022.stm

Thought it had been too quite for a while...the performance V Manure certinally has kept them at bay... but... http://www.mailonsunday.co.uk/sport/article-1048409/Keegan-set-signing-showdown-Owen-Milner.html?ITO=1490 I like it how they couldnt even be arsed to finish the article so have ended up leaving 'lorem ipsum' in....

Anyhow, *ignores the unwashed above*, I think we'll still have a few players in by the deadline. Quite fed up of all this talk of a 'wow' signing. It smells of FFS syndrome to me. If we get 3 players that are up to the standard shown of Bassong/Guthrie/Jonas/Collo I will be very happy with the transfer window and the recruitments performance.

Sure, we mock them, but every f***ing thread over there seems to have some mention of us in it. I really don't understand it. Oh well, funny. I read most football forums, and all,bar the NUFC forums, seem to think these are great signings for SAFC. I understand that, rivalry taken into account,as to our boards obsession with NUFC,thats nonsence tbh take of your black and white specs and read through most of the threads on this,or any other Mag board see how many threads there are without some reference to Sunderland You need to put your Bias to bed mate, that statments utter garbage, and you know it. Bias aside, it certainly wasn't as good a performance as some of you lot down the road would have people think. Also, are you still at school perhaps? I ask this as you can't spell or write grammatically/punctuated sentences correctly. Or do they just not teach such niceties on Wearside? Oh, I forgot, your probably doped up to your tits on smack that you're as bewildered and disillusion as the rest of your 'Sewpa' fans are. Take the chips off your shoulder and realise that (and I'm not being an arrogant/cocky Geordie 'bassa' here) you will always live in the shadows and limelight of Newcastle & Newcastle United. City, culture and football. Now sit down, shut up and fuck off.
-
did you watch the game?? I watched the game. I witnessed 32 minutes 25 seconds of Sunderland running around, headless chicken syndrome albeit with Spurs rejects & Steed Malbranque who is a quality player. After that, I then watched a team resorting to long ball tactics and Liverpool controlling the game for the full second half. And then Torres putting a blinding goal in the bottom left hand corner. Congratulations, you lot are in for a Sewpa Dewpa season....

Season Tickets due to arrive Thursday/Friday - see OP for latest
mattypnufc replied to Crumpy Gunt's topic in Football
Like i said above. Any chance i could get my ticket tommorow if i went in with the correct documents? It says in the announcement on the official website that you should go before Saturday to collect a paper ticket if you're worried about your ST not arriving on time. I would imagine all you would need really is your ST number, but just to be on the safe side take last seasons, plus any letters with regards to this seasons ST if you have any, and maybe a form of ID. You probably won't need all that though. Oh aye, and ask them for your f***ing travel money for the inconvenience. You see the problem is that it's my dad's ST, so ID would bollocks it up. The parents fly abroad tommorow, that's why it's worse for me. Hopefully, those papers will do. In truth, the club are normally ok with this type of thing... -
