Sounds wierd, but since August I've felt apathetic towards the club. Still supported with a passion, but felt really apathetic as if a part of me had been taken away. Pride perhaps? All the shit dragged through the media, the protests and the club being up for sale. Is it a little OTT to say, even if this doesnt work, that the appointment has restored a little bit of pride in me? For the first time since August I woke up, turned SSN on, and enjoyed seeing some decent news. I feel a little bit proud again. Say what you will, but this appointment, works/fails, is one hell of a morale boost for fans, the players, the city and has restored some faith in the club. Only this fucking club can mess with your heart & head like this. Bastards.

Fuck me... Utterly mental. I hate and love this club. Win win situation for Shearer. If he keeps us up, he's a hero, if we get relegated, then at least he tried. He will motivate the players, he will get us playing football, he will inspire and tell the players what they are fighting for. We have had no leader since Kinnear (yes I know) has been ill, and the players have lacked direction and commitment. Someone in charge who has balls and ability to tell the overpaid arseholes in our team what they need to hear. I'm going to have a beer to celebrate. I just hope this works out in a good way.
