  1. Can't believe people are slagging him off and taking the piss. He's doing something, however fruitless it may seem to you. Get fucked.
  2. This your gut feeling or have you been cooking for your lass again to get more info from GC? The latter. They've already prepped an appeal for the worst case scenario. We'll find out either way by next week.
  3. Definitive answer by next week. Still positive signs coming from EPL, as in communication is still flowing.
  4. Statement from Amanda Staveley I would like to thank the Newcastle United Supporters’ Trust and all Newcastle fans for their incredible backing and huge efforts over the past few days and beyond. I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Speaking on behalf of myself and my husband, the Reuben family and the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia, we are not just overwhelmed by your support, we are humbled by it. Our group has received emails and messages in the thousands and I can’t begin to tell you what that means to us. We do not take it for granted. We understand that a strong Supporters’ Trust means a strong Newcastle. And we understand and have seen again just how powerful and beautiful a united Newcastle can truly be. Thank you again. Amanda.
  5. Is it? I think so. If she was continuing on from last week and the likes, I'd be a lot more worried.
  6. Got this from Brownie. Thank you for contacting me regarding the recent proposed takeover of Newcastle United. I understand your frustration and share your concerns that the process was drawn out for so long. As I know you are aware, the Saudi Arabian-backed consortium said it has ended its bid to buy Newcastle United. The group included Saudi Arabia's sovereign wealth fund PIF, PCP Capital Partners and Reuben Brothers. In April It agreed a £300m deal to buy the club from Mike Ashley. The deal was still being scrutinised under the Premier League's owners' and directors' test. They were seeking clarification of the links between PIF and the Saudi Arabian Government. The Premier League wanted to know who would have control, where funding would come from, and who would appoint the board. As the Member of Parliament for Newcastle Central, and therefore St James’ Park, my colleague, Chi Onwurah MP, has taken the lead on this issue. She has my support. She has written to Richard Masters, Chief Executive of the Premier League. In her letter she has asked a number of questions and called for the Premier League to be more transparent with fans. I have included a link to the letter here for your information https://chionwurahmp.com/2020/07/newcastle-united-football-club-failed-take-over/. I await the response of the Premier League. I support the questions Chi has asked and agree with the Newcastle United Supports Trust that the fans deserve answers. I believe that the Premier League should have engaged with fans throughout the process and would like to see the Premier League be more transparent. More generally, I support the case for an independent review of all aspects football governance. Thank you for contacting me about this important issue. With best wishes, Nick Rt Hon Nick Brown MP Member of Parliament for Newcastle upon Tyne East Tel: 0191 249 8403 (Newcastle) | 020 7219 6814 (Westminster) Email: [email protected] Website: http://www.nickbrownmp.com/
  7. Should be around 6pm when I'll get an update. Would've been earlier, but she's left her phone at home. Daft cunt.
  8. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/53662771
  9. Anyone know what Nick Brown is like? I've only been in Heaton for a couple of years, I've only really had dealings with Alan Campbell.
  10. I can't remember this very well, but I imagine it was a poor attempt at joke? What was the context? I can't actually remember why you asked it, I just went up to the bar with you and you just asked the barman about drugs. Fuck knows what I was going about, I didn't even try weed until I was 33 Anyway, I'm glad I gave a good impression
  11. Well you can 100% trust that I'm not lying or posting shit on here for a buzz or whatever. I love this club and I've met a hell of lot of you guys in the 'real world'. I've never been or claimed to be 'ITK', however in the last ten days or so (rather fortuitously, I might add), stumbled upon a connection between a colleague of my partners and George Caulkin. I've asked questions and I've got polite responses so far. Like I said earlier, my questions are being filtered through non-football fans who haven't been keeping up with the in's and outs of the takeover, so it's quite frustrating. Anyway, in summary, I wouldn't bullshit any of you. No reason to. Too old. I've got a life.
  12. Aye, but he thought it was going to be good news. Some backfire, that. I actually cried. All the information I received '**** says biggish news tomorrow for NUFC' and then a celebration smiley face. Fair to say that she made her own tea when she came in from work. Cunt.
  13. Does it have to get to a certain number before there's guaranteed consideration by the government? 100,000? It's not a parliamentary one. It could have 500 million, they don't have to do anything. I think they'd probably taking a keener look at petition with 500 million signatures, but I get your point. A wildly publicised petition would be as effective as a paltry question in parliament, in my opinion.
  14. Apparently so, Ikon[/member]! I don't think communication ever stopped, but like I said before, weeks would pass between questions and answers. Apparently Ashley's side have been shit hot with information to the PL, but it was snail mail on the return. Sorry the information is shite. Neither party I'm getting my tidbits relayed from support Newcastle (one doesn't even like football), so I'm afraid it's all Purple Monkey Dishwasher when I get my filthy paws on it.
  15. So I've had some information of sorts (albeit filtered through my Celtic supporting fiancee). Dialogue is now 10 x what it was before the 'bid withdrawal' between the consortium and the PL, both positive and negative. This is very good news, as apparently they'd go weeks without any interaction Ashley, or should I say Keith, will be releasing a statement of such this week to journalists regarding the takeover financially costing the retail industry due to him not being able to reinvest his money, or lack thereof. Nothing we didn't already know, so apologies.
  16. I'm hoping to get a couple of snippets from Caulkin via his mate today (through my fiancee). I'm not expecting much, but I'll post regardless.
