dunno man, i'm a student myself but i didnt even bother taking my card in as i presumed there'd only be discount if the season ticket holder was a student. seems like i could have gotten away with it now but it was a big saving anyway so no worries. My mate isn't a student but I managed to get 3 student tickets just using his supporter number and postcode. They seemed to be a lot less strict checking the student cards for this than they normally are, my student card runs out in December but he let me have a student ticket anyway. Halfway up Block E in the Gallowgate West corner, £166. Amazing, can't wait for the Everton game to come round now.

I saw teeth girl, she sat a few rows in front of me. Everyone joined in the passing drills at the start, but then half of them went back in the changing room before the shooting drill because they were tired from Wednesday. Don't think it would have killed them to have a few shots like! Especially seeing as the ones who left were probably the ones people had come to see - Colo, Jonas, Cabaye, Ben Arfa, Marveaux, Ba all just left and didn't come back out. And 4 blokes from the crowd (+ John Carver) beat the players at crossbar challenge too!

Not sure - you might have to get your female student friend to go into the box office with you if they are being particularly strict. Only thing would be that the season ticket would be in your friends name and not your girlfriends. That doesn't matter though does it? They don't check who is using the season ticket when you go through the turnstiles do they? I can't think of a reason why my girlfriend couldn't use it with some other girls name on?

Good comments from Pardew on Obertan tonight, completely agreed with him. Obertan needs to have the confidence to take his man on a bit more, but at the same time he has to not be one-dimensional and just keep the ball for us sometimes as well. Pardew gave me the impression that Obertan is maybe a bit fragile and doesn't have much self-belief, but as he said, he's only young and has only played 10 or 15 games in the Premiership. Hopefully the confidence will come with games and he'll start to realise what he can do to full backs when he goes at them at the right time. Sounds like he's definitely playing on Saturday, which I think is a good thing. Wigan is just the sort of game where he could thrive in I think, a bit like the Blackburn game this season.

Can this not be abused by loads of people signing up for the offer, getting a ticket, and not turning up? What would be the point in that No difference between just sticking a normal £10 bet on. My hatred of Clattermole knows no bounds. An absolutely disgraceful and talentless clogger who has absolutely no place in modern top-level football. If he genuinely thinks he's only made one 'bad' tackle during his career then he needs his head checking, as off the top of my head I can think of a few on Newcastle players alone - Barton, Beye (twice?) and Jonas and Cabaye this season. He's a dangerous footballer who goes into most tackles with excessive force looking to hurt the player. He has absolutely no control whatsoever, as shown by his substitution by Bruce last week, and the fact that he is Sunderland's club captain is an absolute embarrassment. Another thing he mentions in that terrible interview about him playing deeper in a five man midfield, which just doesn't suit him cos he likes to be in people's faces - if he had any footballing brain or positional sense it wouldn't be a problem. He's a liability for Sunderland and I think Bruce is starting to realise that. He also mentions 'foreigners' who roll around on the floor all the time - well I'd much rather pay to see players with actual footballing ability who occasionally go down easy than brain dead cretins like you who possess no ability and somehow survive in the Premiership through the 'ability' to mindlessly charge around and 'get stuck in.'

I agree, it's fair enough keeping an unchanged side when we're playing really well, but not when we have just scraped past Wolves. We should change according to the opposition, and I think against Spurs we could do with Ben Arfa playing off Ba or Best, if only just to give Parker and Sandro some more problems to help us get a foothold in midfield. I would also start Santon instead of Raylor, he's had a few games now so should be getting up to speed. One of his first games for Inter was against C. Ronaldo wasn't it, so hopefully he'll be up to the task regardless of it being his first game for us.

As far as I'm aware this is a football forum where everyone is free to voice their opinion. The fact that they are French has no relevance whatsoever and as long as the English is understandable I don't see what your problem is?

What struck me about them last night was a severe lack of pace in their side. We've seen in the last two games what a difference it can make to a midfield having mobility and pace (Nolan vs Cabaye, Barton vs Obertan) and whilst we may have missed out on Barton's ability on the ball, Obertan stretches teams and gives them different problems. Their performance last night was like one of ours at the end of Souness' reign of terror.
