balls my kids cancelled too, although the bayern and celtic trefoil stuff that was well cheap remains.

Think only chance will be if stars align in cups, not holding out much hope.

The big match revisited was on itv today showing highlights of us away to Leicester in 1984

I remember a healthy round of applause for Dwight yorke when he got a hat trick in 97.
-
If rotherham are in then them away, my white whale.
-
Fairly audible applause for their first goal, feel like thats something that wouldn't happen now, maybe it was just because nobody was that arsed about that cup!
-
Yeah he’s talked about going as a kid previously, don’t suppose he bothered once he got into hunting etc.
-
Can’t be, everyone knows the only mags in washy are Keeganites from 92 onwards. Despite the nufc kisok opening in the galleries a year or two earlier.
-
yeah but thats probably due to not bumping up prices like you said, as well as initial relative success if I recall
-
I think that’s partly to do with demand for the first two and obviously not a great look to have a new, half full ground. The Sunderland ground in particular was huge for a team of their size at the time, especially when freshly relegated.

annoyingly on the juve shirts now the copa patch doesn't seem to come with it, as I was after the third.
-
Yeah never won in the away, I think it looks better when seen now, probably helped as not paired with green shorts.
-
Just pure look seen it on Depop and it got me thinking.

I found a template of the barcode and had a fictional away made, also got a template similar to the mythical one off v Luton third. On the look out for a johns Anderson all stars green one to get a blue star on.

I managed to find a umbro tracky belonging to Bobby Saxton at a footy fair in Shields a few years ago, sold it on though as already had one. I don't think the replicas had the sponsors on til 90-91 but could be wrong.

Quite liked the relegation/promotion adidas kit in fact all three were decent. Puma ones were lifting as stared, that yellow one would have been ok but for wonga. Edit the mainly black one we wore most of the relegation season wasn't too bad, michael own on the front of PES anyone? I never had any of the northern rock ones at the time due to an unhappy stint working for them briefly in 2004. Greenalls is the elite sponsor for me.

Would it not go to the likes of Wales etc? wiki suggests it would, I think the lower path is only open for the euros. Edit totally misread wiki! Sounds like you're right although looks like Moldova or Malta would get play off spot ahead of SM.

I was in town yesterday for something else but asked if metro mover was accepted for the game and they weren't that could be a prohibitive factor as well.

Springwell is Gateshead really anyway, vast majority there black and white and Washington I think a shade more black and white IMO.
-
born in Gateshead, live in North Shields now but spent 80% of my life in Washington/Springwell but still consider myself a Geordie on account of parents, and growing up we were the only branch of the family in Washington, rest were in west Denton/ lobley hill and ensured I didn’t continue with ‘din’a’ instead of divn’t! to be fair on that rtg some of them quite rightly saying it’s a very weak argument.

Smaller sport shops would do printing, and I think maybe all sports later on.
-
I don’t think anyone had proper numbers on back then, the green market did ok ones but not ASICS. Mine were shocking in hindsight but it was also the first shirt we had with names on.
-
That should have came with a Ronny radford trigger warning.

My blue star home one is stitched and the mcewans home one is flock, this may have been due to the the time of issue. I recall some of the later ones having the asics logo alongside the text, and we hardly wore the blue star version in 94-95.
