  1. Can’t be, everyone knows the only mags in washy are Keeganites from 92 onwards. Despite the nufc kisok opening in the galleries a year or two earlier.

    St James' Park

yeah but thats probably due to not bumping up prices like you said, as well as initial relative success if I recall

I think that’s partly to do with demand for the first two and obviously not a great look to have a new, half full ground. The Sunderland ground in particular was huge for a team of their size at the time, especially when freshly relegated.
  4. annoyingly on the juve shirts now the copa patch doesn't seem to come with it, as I was after the third.
  5. Yeah never won in the away, I think it looks better when seen now, probably helped as not paired with green shorts.
  6. Just pure look seen it on Depop and it got me thinking.
  7. I found a template of the barcode and had a fictional away made, also got a template similar to the mythical one off v Luton third. On the look out for a johns Anderson all stars green one to get a blue star on.
  8. I managed to find a umbro tracky belonging to Bobby Saxton at a footy fair in Shields a few years ago, sold it on though as already had one. I don't think the replicas had the sponsors on til 90-91 but could be wrong.
  9. Amazed we haven’t revisited the barcode, loved it.
  10. Quite liked the relegation/promotion adidas kit in fact all three were decent. Puma ones were lifting as stared, that yellow one would have been ok but for wonga. Edit the mainly black one we wore most of the relegation season wasn't too bad, michael own on the front of PES anyone? I never had any of the northern rock ones at the time due to an unhappy stint working for them briefly in 2004. Greenalls is the elite sponsor for me.
  11. Would it not go to the likes of Wales etc? wiki suggests it would, I think the lower path is only open for the euros. Edit totally misread wiki! Sounds like you're right although looks like Moldova or Malta would get play off spot ahead of SM.
  12. I was in town yesterday for something else but asked if metro mover was accepted for the game and they weren't that could be a prohibitive factor as well.
  13. Springwell is Gateshead really anyway, vast majority there black and white and Washington I think a shade more black and white IMO.
  14. born in Gateshead, live in North Shields now but spent 80% of my life in Washington/Springwell but still consider myself a Geordie on account of parents, and growing up we were the only branch of the family in Washington, rest were in west Denton/ lobley hill and ensured I didn’t continue with ‘din’a’ instead of divn’t! to be fair on that rtg some of them quite rightly saying it’s a very weak argument.
  15. Smaller sport shops would do printing, and I think maybe all sports later on.
  16. I don’t think anyone had proper numbers on back then, the green market did ok ones but not ASICS. Mine were shocking in hindsight but it was also the first shirt we had with names on.
  17. That should have came with a Ronny radford trigger warning.
  18. My blue star home one is stitched and the mcewans home one is flock, this may have been due to the the time of issue. I recall some of the later ones having the asics logo alongside the text, and we hardly wore the blue star version in 94-95.
  19. I only got the waistcoats in the last few years since lockdown etc, had no recollection of them first time around. Yeah those keeper shirts are something else.
  20. Waistcoats attached, and a jacket I’ve annoyingly had cancelled.
  21. I never had that but had the stripey track/shell suit and sadly thats one of the only things ive ever got rid of. I was at OT for the first ever premier league point and wrote to the club to ask about them relesing the white socks, (I was 11) and was politely told no. I did however have the blue asics cycling shorts which I'd wear for maximum Andy Cole-ness, even did full kit wanker for the spurs game on first day of the season. I've got both the asics waistcoats in my collection now, very niche. I do genuinely believe the asics stuff was the most sought after ever at the time, 3 years of the same shirt seemed an eternity at the time and we went from mid table with a half full ground to packing it out and getting promoted in the space of one kit.
  22. Still decent though, villa and derby ones were the same.
  23. Piss poor. We must have one of the worst retro ranges about. Only the bukta stuff that’s ever been done again properly, villa, spurs, Everton, arsenal and Man U off top of head have had decent remakes, even the mackems have had 80s Umbro stuff.
  24. No long gave up on finding an original of these, so would do that it’s just removing the black part which is tricky.
  25. Nope and my mate who I get for all my little side projects refused to take off the second black and white mcewans from it!
