I was wondering if the game would have been any different if we had played a low block ourselves and just played counter attack. But honestly I don't think it would. Even though they almost caught us into he counter a few times 2nd half, both their goals could have happened regardless of how we had set up. I think I just have to accept it wasn't our time yet and we just weren't a big enough goal threat ourselves to win this game. Man u just seem to find scoring a lot easier than us recently. Perhaps Pope might have made a difference but it wasn't too be.

Looked like he fucked the same ankle he injured before. Let's hope it's not a bad one. Thought he gave his all and was just starting to get more involved before the injury. Just nothing went our way today. Has the right mentality to help drive this club forward.

Having the old Wilson today could have made a big difference. But he was a waste of a shirt today unfortunately. Not sure what happened but agreed he's physically struggling aswell as form.

Yeah that's bollocks. Trippier, Schar and Joelinton etc have all be quality this year. All that's happened is the we haven't had the squad to be able to rotate like others have and now majority are burnt out/ out of form. Team needs freshening up. But theres plenty of room in this squad moving forward for atleast the first 13 players in the squad. It's the depth after that where we are lacking. Add more depth in the summer and then you have players like ASM, Almiron, Wilson, Willock etc as squad players instead of guaranteed starters most games.

My thought is we should trial givin Maxi the free role like he had against Liverpool to try and cause havoc. But I think the front 4 should all be fluid and pop up in diff positions. Almiron is capable too and sometimes looks dangerous when he drives through the middle. Whatever we do we need to freshen up the attack because it's been poor since the world cup.

Bless him. Thought he gave it a lot of effort today and was unlucky. Final product can be questioned like every player but they defended well. I would really like to see now we have lost a few games and the team needs freshening up: Isak Maxi Willock Gordon Joelinton Bruno Targett Botman Schar Trippier Pope With Wilson, Almiron and Longstaff as alternative options.

One thing I've noticed is these fuckers are masters at time wasting. Considering their fans had the cheek to claim that's all we do, their team does it a serious amount everytime I've watched them. If they go ahead then we'll need to try not play into their hands.

I think it's all about the final right now. Once that is out the way..win or lose...if we drop to 5th/6th it might actually suit us more to be chasing down 4th rather than trying to hang on to it. Hopefully more players coming back from injury, so can rotate the 11 more and with no other competitions to distract like some of the other teams, we can give it our all for the remaining games.

Let us know if this is still the case before kick off next Sunday. ? I'll be stunned if the nerves don't creep in the closer it gets.

Hate to wish it on anyone but we could really do with an injury to Rashford.

This is what Man u will look to do against us. Just get Rashford in behind. De Gea showing how important having your best goalkeeper can be. Fine margins.

I know Eddie has an identity and will want to play his way....but sometimes you have to play the team that are Infront of you. Liverpool are and were rapid upfront so simply putting the ball over the top of our defenders worked 3 times in the first 20 mins and ripped us apart. Man U are a little more reliant on just one pace merchant but he's in exceptional form and they will attempt to do the same thing. I really would prefer us to drop a little deeper and then use Isak/Wilson, ASM, Almiron and possibly Willock to hit them on the counter ourselves. Otherwise I do really fear that they will just sit and be hard to beat and then pick us off with Rashford on the counter.

Thought he was really poor in his cameo, kept making poor decisions or losing the ball. But then made up for it when he did that burst through the middle and laid it perfectly for Wilson.

Yeah he looked on it today even before the red and looked set to give TAA a hard game on the left. But feel like we may have stumbled on his best role by putting him more central as a 2. Really hope he can carry that into the final and with 11 and Bruno we can really scare those Manc twats. Attack is the best form of defence. Especially with out keeper situation. Edit. Also not seen him run into the channels and stretch the game as much before as he was doing today. Recently he just wanted everything to feet. But he has the speed to stretch teams.

"Feel like pure shit" ?? Man, really wanted to go into the game with our best team and be in with a fighting chance. Guess we still have a chance but with either of those two options as keeper, the odds are stacked.

Typical that in both games against this lot we have a depleted squad. Last game we were without Bruno again, Wilson, ASM and Botman and Schar were rested it seemed? Full strength I think we would have beaten these twice this year but highly possible we end up losing our only two games so far against them. This was the team last game and we nearly won/drew that but for a narrow Isak offside and then the ridiculous added time.

If he's fit and Willock is out then we have no choice, he has to start and I think I said few weeks ago, have a sneaky feeling he's the type that would pull out his best performance in a final. However he'd be up against Wan Bissaka, who may not be the best going forward but is possibly the best 1v1 defender in the league. So will be a tall ask whoever plays on the left, but if it's a choice between ASM and Murphy then ASM.

Really interested to see what Eddie does here. Players look knackered and there's a few that are carrying knocks. Even if they are somewhat fit will he want to risk the likes of Wilson and ASM and not have them as options for the final?
