  1. Absolutely. So disappointing we never got the Shola upgrade we were apparently after in the summer.
  2. If that had been any of our other strikers though then that isn't a goal. Shola, Cisse or De Jong would never have got on the end of that.
  3. I've noticed that we seem to ride our luck more with Yanga M'biwa in the team Dunno if it's just coincidence but yeah, I think back to that Spurs game and a few others.
  4. someone will definitely get sent off if that is all it takes for a yellow. Some nice passing from our lot so far.
  5. Shouldn't it be Remy off De Jong not the other way round? Fuck off was that a yellow.
  6. That's his second goal this season. He's hardly setting the world alight. Decent conversion though. I know, just messing about

    Papiss Cissé

So no De Jong Remy, despite it being the only partnership that makes sense? Classic Pards

    Hatem Ben Arfa

Don't see why thinking Ben Arfa should be playing for our team automatically means we think he's the best player ever.
  9. Surely that can only last so long when people realise that no one else is adhering to the FFP? That time is more or less happening now.
  10. The bit about sportsdirect is pretty disgusting. So he gets to advertise because we owe him the loan. But the loan never gets reduced with the cost of the advertising space? What a joke
  11. Thing is, we've actually kept it on the floor and occasionally played some very nice stuff this season. The problem is since Cabaye left it's been "back to basics" as Pardew keeps calling it. Annoyingly the game after Cabaye left, Norwich. We played some good football despite not scoring. Ben Arfa was pulling the stings, Sammy was running at full backs and Remy was doing his thing playing on the shoulder and making space for himself. Next game was Sunderland as we all know, manager and players shit the bed and it all went tits up. Didn't help that he moved Ben Arfa to play off an abysmal Shola and we just pumped it long for the entire game.
  12. Very fair review. I fear with many, because we won, the 90 minutes that came before the goal will be completely forgotten about.
  13. Yeah, we beat a shit villa team with near enough our strongest team with an injury time goal. After the run we've just been on, not sure he should be as boisterous as he's being.
  14. I only feel compelled to defend Pardew firstly because I know him and secondly because the criticism on here, unlike at SJP, never seems balanced to me. But that's just my opinion and I am either less objective or more balanced because I know him. Maybe I am blind too far in favour but it does make me smile the way that we finished 5th the season before last gets completed obliterated from the history of NUFC because it doesn't suit an anti-Pardew argument. Still I guess I'm spouting complete shit, simply because I happen to have a different viewpoint. Please believe one thing, if you knew only some of what goes in behind the scenes and how the club is run, you might not change YOUR opinion, which I respect btw, but you might have a slightly different opinion of who is to blame. Come on spill the beans then if you know? The 5th placed season isn't forgotten as many say. When he has all of his best players fit and working hard in the system he likes he has proven he can get results. He rightly got big praise for that season, especially post January when we played some really nice stuff. He also had a few, like myself who could see the danger signs with some of his tactics/use of substitutions and often negative mentality of "stop the opposition and try nick a goal" Last season immediately had warning signs when we failed to capitalise on a good season by not spending much money. That was compounded by Pardew bizarrely scraping the 4-4-3 that had served us so well and converting back to a 442 but with Cisse and Ba, which simply didn't work. As we all know once things started going badly and when he didn't have his best team to pick for ever game he looked lost. That season continued to go bad, until we had a small boost of the french guys in January that he had begged for. Unfortunately even after being given the players he'd asked for, we still hobbled over the finish line and stayed up by the skin of our teeth. This year has now seen a combination of the last two. We had a poor start, then went on a run as good as, if not better than the 5th season. Now we have just been on a run of losses reminiscent of last season. I think for many on here, the constant bullshit that he comes out with in his interviews, the assumption that he is in with Ashley and is just his mouth piece, the lack of ambition to succeed in cups(leaving Remy and Cabaye out of both fixtures) and now the recent run of being unable to motivate the team to finish the season strong. Not forgetting the Ben Arfa bullshit. That could be a few reasons why a few of us are fed up of him in my opinion.
  15. New excuse will be "we had the money but with the world cup and everything, clubs were holding us to ransom and were not prepared to pay over the odds"
  16. I'd love this show of passion if I thought for a second Remy would join us permanently.
  17. Bit harsh. Loads are unhappy with the way the club is being run but don't seem arsed to try and do anything about it. I'd say those guys should have put more planning into it to make sure they had enough people to make an impact but can't mock them for wanting to voice their disapproval.
  18. awful, dull, boring, zero creativity. Up till about 75-80. Then with De Jong on for Cisse and Remy going wide left, we started to create more after Villa made it clear they were happy with a point.
  19. Yeah all this whinging from Pardew about the crowd etc. Today proved just give them something, anything to get excited about and they will roar you on. As soon as the players actually showed a bit of will to get forward and try to win the game, the crowd got into it. The crowd is a positive not a negative. The only managers who see the support as a negative are the shit one's who don't know how to make the most of it.
