i think lassana diarra is a very underated player and looks class most the time he gets a game for madrid. Got great mobility, nicks the ball back all the time and then plays the right ball. Dare i say it, a slightly better version of tiote

Vuckic is quick with the ball and attacking but seems to tread water abit when going the other way and trying to defend but he's got a good long stride on him.

Still £7m though, cant grumble at that, its a fair amount for a left back. once you convert it into pounds it's £200,000 more than we got for enrique. however i'm sure the reports today have been 6.8m? which is £26,000 more. Jose had only a year left, where as Pieters has longer, i think the value for either of them will be determined by how well Pieters does, we all know how well Jose did, if Pieters does better then £7m will be seen as cheap, time will tell Pieters won't do better than Jose, Jose was quality BUT as long as Pieters is a good left back that will do, not many left backs out there better than Jose in anyways How do you know he wont do better ? Pieters is neither He will flop imho You have to remember that we are a top 10 team at best currently and in Enrique we had one of the best left backs in the league (europe?) and now he is with one of the top 5 teams arguably. only Baines out of the players you mentioned doesn't play for a current top 5 team. So if your compare Pieters with the left backs from the teams around us its a little bit more realistic. Anyone we buy unless we really splashed the cash and for sum reason they wanted to come are not going to be as good as Jose was for us, at least not at first which was always going to be a problem because people will get on the new LB's back straight away cus he wont do the things Jose did. I think Best deserves a start in the prem. a few good headers and nice litte link ups and flick ons (thinking of the mid air back heel for lovenkrands chance) plus had a perfectly good goal chaulked off. Yes he missed a few chances (like the half-volley that flew over the bar) but show me someone who would say shola would have buried that and i will show you a lier. If it was shola it would be expected to miss but best i was surprised he didnt bury it. He's overall movement is just so much better than shola's and he actually takes the ball down and links the play alot compared to shola's flicking it on to no-one.

Wow some very extreme comments here. I don't think he was as turboshit as people are making out. lost the ball and passes went astray but he also got wide a few times well and put a good ball in for best. Yeah he wasn't very good but he just seems off the pace and off form at the mo. To try and make out he's absolute shit after two 45 min spells is kneejerk to say the least!
