Despite being way behind the rest of the others and switching off for their winning goal, thought he was one of our better players yesterday. He was clearly shattered by that point. In a strange way I'd feel more confident with him defensively up against Salah than Hall. Just from a pure 1v1 aspect, not from all the other elements Hall brings to the side that we will miss. But that means Trippier on the other side and I can see Diaz or Gakpo having him on toast unfortunately.

Always felt we needed every single one of our best 11 fully fit and playing well to have a chance here. We're looking at No Gordon, No Hall, possibly no Botman, a half fit Isak, half fit Joelinton and majority of our lads massively out of form. Will take some kind of miracle to pull this off and a defensive masterclass.

Couldn't have gone much worse this really. Out the cup, players having to go 120 minutes for no reward. Isak half fit and possibly injured again, Hall pregame news, Gordon being an absolute weapon and losing his cool at the worst possible moment in our season. The one game feels like such a weighted impact. Effectively ended two chances at trophies and probably has a knock on effect for our league form now also. I'm choosing to blame it all on Gordon for now because it kind of is his fault. Apart from all that, it was absolutely criminal how often we gifted chances and gave the ball away in dangerous areas. We really aren't a great side minus Isak.

Reading between the lines, do t think we see Isak again before the final. Didn't realise that stat either that in the league, we have haven't won any or scored any when he's been missing? Eesh.

Would have him back in for the final. The fact he can kick a ball is the main + but Pope's inferred better shot stopping ability hasn't really been on show this season when he's played. So there is no real benefit to playing Pope at the moment other than he sweeps up slightly better, but shits himself when he gets the ball so not sure if it's all that helpful .

Knowing that they won't risk any players now with the final on the horizon. Don't expect Joelinton or Botman back for this, and probably not Isak by the sounds of things. With that in mind and players holding back even subconsciously + Brighton's recent good form. Could be a tough evening.

We looked closer to the Bruce version of us than the Howe. But that's going to happen when we are carrying quite a few not good enough anymore. As said earlier to compete against teams like this we need all of our beat players on the pitch and firing. Isak is a massive equaliser for us as he drags us up a few levels when he plays. Mentality is a massive thing in football though and you could see it for both goals. Our players are scared of Liverpool and Anfield. They all backed off and dropped into positions they shouldn't be on both. They were really poor goals to concede.

It's confusing seeing people try to comfort themselves that it was only 2:0. That was the easiest game they will have all season. They coasted and scored with ease. Only hope is to have all our beat players available for the final but I'm starting to doubt it that's going to happen and they certainly won't be match sharp and in form. We would need a Spurs 5:1 level of performance to have a hope. Even if we were super aggressive and energetic like that, it feels like this Liverpool team can match that and have much stronger and faster athletes than we do.

Men against boys most of the game. We're our levels below. We'd need every player back fit and bang in form to stand any hope, even then it would be very unlikely.

Surely Barnes would be far more useful than Willock at LW. He's looked clueless each time he's been able to get on the ball.

What's showing here is out of possession they hunt us down like maniacs. Which Bournemouth showed we really struggle against as we aren't good at keeping the ball. Our only hope is to beat their press with balls over the top for Isak and Gordon potentially in the final.

If we don't have all of Botman, Isak, Joelinton, Tonali and Gordon in the final then our chances are literally 0. We need to be 100% and everyone on it to even have a sliver of hope.

Maybe they have backed off but it hurts to be only losing so far because of that pathetic goal.

Pope he's so comical at times

On a fast pitch and against physically superior opposition we are carrying 4 who can barely run in Burn, Schar , Bruno and to some extent Wilson now. If Isak was fit that's 1:1.

Odd not to put Gordon on Trent. Our most dangerous player without Isak and Trent is their biggest weakness at the back.
