  1. I don't think I can remember if we ever saw Martins run flat out as quick as he was allegedly supposed to be. Possibly because he was already in his 30's when he joined
  2. I think you have to remember that Dubravka didn't lose his place through poor performances. He just got injured. While Darlow has done well to fill in, we shouldn't forget that last time when Dubravka arrived it was an immediate and noticeable step up in quality. Those that don't acknowledge that have very short memories. Dubs main asset was he was a great shot stopper, which is what Darlow has done well. But I remember Dubs also holds on to more things which in turn alleviates pressure and also seems to organise the defense. Problem is there is no way to keep both happy long term. You drop Darlow now and it's a massive kick in the bollocks. Also if you leave Dubraka out too long you risk losing him to another team eventually.

    Joe Willock

What evidence do we have that Fraser works in the position Almiron played so well? So the obvious line up is to move one of our best players from the weekend and put another player in there instead in an unfamiliar role?
  4. Glad that was picked up ?
  5. Is this what Steve meant by criticism turning into ridicule ? I hope his son printed it off and showed it to him.
  6. Don't think ASM will be very explosive if he has to start. Still looks a long way short of match fit. Return of the Joe :S
  7. I'd disagree. Everton are a good side this year so were always likely to have moments of quality and a few chances. However I think on reflection we were always the better team throughout today. Seemed more up for it. Pressed harder, created chances. Scored 2 and Wilson hit the bar, the post and also gone close with another. I think under normal circumstances we'd have seen this as a comfortable win but its because we've been so bad for so long that it made for more nervous and tetchy viewing as fans thinking we're likely to throw it away at any moment.
  8. The way he was completely dropped randomly, I wonder if he was one of the loyal Rafa boys that Bruce cast aside to try and stamp authority. He is Spanish after all and dramatically improved with Rafa's guidance. Likely one of the defenders who wanted us to play the back 5 again and maybe spoke up when things were going to shit. Or Bruce is just just an idiot. Yeah the 2nd one ?
  9. amazing how you can suddenly implement a new formation and tactics in one game Steve, seeing as you haven't been able to do that in the previous 18+ months.
  10. Superb. Should of had a hat-trick to cap off the performance but was a complete forward performance today.
  11. Manquillo looking comfortably our best right back once again. So strange how he was frozen out for awhile.
  12. Not to mention Shelvey was well and truly frozen out and would have been gone that summer if Rafa hadn't gone first. Anyone throwing Rafa in with Bruce is talking nonsense in my opinion. The two couldn't be any further apart in terms of football knowledge.
  13. I mean there's no point picking a part that interview because every single line is a shocker. Should go down as one of the worst interviews by a Newcastle manager in history. I did particularly like the "it's not my way of playing" the guy got the job in 2019 and its now 2021. If the players didn't demand a return to the 3 cb's last year he would have been relegated already ?

    Transfer rumours

West Brom after him (AMN) also. God, if we are actually in for him (as we should be) and he chooses West Brom, I'm not sure another word needs to be said about where we are as a club right now. Wouldn't need to relocate really. Leicester not far from Birmingham. Could be a factor.
  15. Is it April again!? People go on like Ashley has to personally pay Bruce off out his own pocket! It will only be a couple of million quid and it will be out the clubs money. Said the same about a week or so ago. Really irritates me the way it's constantly phrased by the media and even fans like its Mike's own money. No other team is spoken about in this way. Also £1million should be nothing money to a Premier league team in 2021, especially when the cost if we are relegated is so much more.
  16. It felt a bit like that last game left before being confirmed relegated where the players take it upon themselves (schar) to try and drag us out the shit and get a result. But... we still lost. Because we're shit. Because it's been so long since a real coach has given these players any guidance on the training ground.
  17. Is that the first BOT we've ever had on here? ?
  18. It's embarrassing how there is no one in the entire squad who can take a decent free kick. Worse yet a basic throw-in that doesn't lead to a counter attack against us. With someone like ASM in the team we're going to get plenty of free kicks. Maybe he should have a go himself, can't be any worse than yesterday's efforts.
  19. He's my only enjoyment had watching any games since Bruce took over. He's so fun to watch. Makes you forget for a brief moment how shit we are. I bet he couldn't believe that miss by Lewis. On a plate for him.

    Jamal Lewis

Ritchie would have scored too. However wouldn't have had the legs to keep up with ASM
  21. Remember when we all said we were a one man team. Well he's proving that again with ASM. Just in the way it changes the entire way we play when he's on the pitch.
  22. Still stuns me how bad we are at throw ins. We simply lose the ball everytime and panic when we get one. Why is this a thing? ?
  23. He's a really odd bloke. Thought that for years. Same with dharmesh sheth. They are unwatchable with the way they talk. Especially on there weird little transfer thing as well pretending like they are ITK "my sources say.." but know nothing. Used to leave SSN on in background loads in the past but now I will actively turn it off to avoid listening.

    Relegationometer

If Fulham win there game in hand it's down to 4 points. Then don't forget it's incredibly likely we lose the next 2 to Leeds and Everton. We don't look like we can draw a game at the moment let alone win one. Apart from Sheffield (as I don't think they will beat anyone apart from us) Every other team are putting abit of form together and picking up points now where you didn't expect them too or at least looking like they can win games and score goals. There's no getting away from it. This team 100% is relegated if Bruce gets till the end of the season.
