  1. Would you want to pay Carroll £80k a week to sit on our bench then?, any excuse to moan I have a feeling Sir Chubster would want Carroll to start.
  2. I think they're going to do what we did last year. They are my dark horse for the top of the table this season.
  3. Not at all. Lille is asking for a price that we don't think he's worth. It's pretty simple. It sucks, but it's cut and dry.
  4. Eh, I decided to record it again tonight. Apparently it's only every night ....at 2am EST. Probably give it a few more chances at least.
  5. Just got around to watching a new show over here in the States called ESPNFC where they do a 30 show recapping the weekend's Premier League matches. Well after spending the first 15 minutes talking about the Man U match they finally get around to the team of the week and Ben Arfa is in there but the best moment comes when Shaka Hislop says "ah, but I wish Demba Ba was in there" and the panel sighs in agreement until he says "but you always leave out players from my old club" Thought it was just a good moment. Love having Shaka Hislop on ESPN all of the time and Warren Barton on Fox Soccer, especially when he's paneling during one of our matches and cheeses so hard when we do well.
  6. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ to each their own. Like I said, I would like to visit NYC at some point, as it has a lot to offer in the way of things that I would really enjoy, it's just not near the top of the list. I'd rather spend the money to visit Newcastle for instance.
  7. This has been my take on it. A lot of these guys will honestly think they have a chance of making the first team on a regular basis at these clubs and oh yeah, get to pick up a decent wedge while attempting it. The egos on these footballers have to be big, they'll believe they can make it.
  8. Not sure why really, it just never worked out/was meant to be. Would like to go there eventually (may head up in October actually to do some research/go to a wedding as well) but always had other things on my plate as far as traveling went. The list of places I'd REALLY like to go is pretty long before it gets to NYC. I'd rather do Chicago over NYC for example. edit: to me it's kind of like this; if I went to France, I'd skip Paris all together, as it has zero appeal to me, and spend most of my time in the countryside meeting real locals and trying great farmhouse food and regional beers. On a side but related note, heading to Asheville this weekend, anyone know of a pub/bar in town that'll be open for the Chelsea match? I'm thinking Jack of the Wood.
  9. I wish. I've been to my fair share of places but there are many places (like NYC for instance) that I have yet to visit. I feel very fortunate to have visited the places that I have though, travel was always what my parents decided to spend their money on when I was growing up and I try to keep that up.
  10. Holy shit what a weird creepy man. The intro and outro are special to say the least. The atmosphere sounded fucking brilliant though, gave me goosebumps, can't wait to make it to SJP for an actual match.
  11. Fellani vs Carrick/Vidic = http://i.imgur.com/66brV.png
  12. You could change the omens. When I asked around that was the only place that everyone said to go to, pickins are slim.
  13. I watched us get thrashed by Tottenham last season in a place called Ryan's. It's on the corner of Decatur and Beinville. Nice little pub.

Do you honestly believe anything in the British press? There are absolutely no standards. You can literally make stuff up and it gets printed as fact (see: Lee Ryder). It's all total bollocks until it's fact.

Love ya Ian (you're the poster who's opinions I agree with most on this forum) but you simply can't defend what he did in any sort of sense. You shove a linesman (manager, player, or otherwise) you get banned - simple as. There is absolutely no room in the game for it. They are meant to be disciplinarians (righlyt or wrongly) and if you usurp their authority and get away with what is essentially bullying them, then the whole game is screwed. He should be happy if it's under three matches and a fine, you simply cannot do that man, it's bang out of order.
  16. The pint guard is definitely Cabaye or Tiote, but the point is still somewhat valid. Ben Arfa is the one player in our team who is different from the rest. He regularly does things none of the other ten would think of trying. We need to give him space to operate and lead the team forward. He won't ask for the ball the majority of the time, but when he does, it should be given to him. Something is coming. Average performance, but a great result against a side that will be a direct rival if things go to plan. Two moments of brilliance from two people that will need to carry us on at least three fronts this season. For me, either HBA or Jonas play that PG role. Jonas is more of a Rondo type, not looking to score, but working hard to maintain possession and distribute. HBA is like CP3. Keeping us in the game, absolutely looking to score but more than capable of finding the right option. Tiote is Ron Artest. Ok wtf is a point guard? And if it's something to do with american football can we please never use it again... http://news.bbc.co.uk/sol/shared/bsp/hi/image_maps/05/9/1127724246/img/image.gif
  17. Perch does well because he only does the job at hand, wherever he is put. He keeps it simple and just does what he's supposed to. It's awesome.
  18. Absolutely love the buzz that takes over the stadium when HBA gets on the ball.

How much trouble do we think he'll get in?
  20. Only 20 mins of preseason, played all games with France in the Euros, extended holiday, etc. It was a joke dude.
