In the end, I think this is what's going to happen. Just upgraded across the starting XI in the current system. No DMs coming in, no AMs, etc. It's just going to be Howe Ball, 4-3-3, with better players. (which I am absolutely not against)

Next season I'm hoping it's something like Bruno Tonali - in a double pivot type situation New RW AM Gordon/Barnes Isak We need to do absolutely everything to get the ball into Isak's feet. The dude will score a shitload of goals if we can do that. And with someone in more of a central AM role that plays the ball into feet ala a Maddison type player, that happens. And then with the bench we'll have, we can change the system up with the subs. Although I'm well aware that this is as pie in the sky as the people who think we're changing systems and getting a DM. We're more likely to just get players to fit into the current system that Howe likes.

I’m just glad Eddie doesn’t see it the same way. More important would be a creative CM in a #10 ilk to feed Isak and the wide forwards and chip in with 8-10 goals.

Yes. And also everyone buys beers/food while out for the day (last Broncos game I bought six beers at about $13/piece). I’d love to see the comparison between SJP single match day revenue compared to say a Broncos single game day revenue. And then on top of that, yes, the venues host many other events throughout the year. Our arenas do 41 home hockey games and 41 home basketball games (bare minimum) as season though so that’s $$$.

I think he's in that sweet spot between coach and friend for a lot of the players. He's the emotional support arm of Howe. Every time you see footage he has his arm around a player saying something in their ear. I'd imagine Howe is someone you want to play for but it doesn't feel like there's a ton of warmth coming from his direction so you need a Jones around. I'm sure Tindall is somewhere in-between the two as well.
