  1. Seen him in Burger King getting English lessons of Anton and SWP, the conversation went something like: Anton: "Innit though" Arshavin: "In-nit though?" SWP: "Anyway lads better gan doon to SJP for a swift medical" Arshavin: "Gan doon?" Anton: "Yeah we're in toon now, innit"
  2. In fairness it's difficult to judge, Adebayor looked lousy in Ligue 1...
  3. To be fair although the abuse was needless TT did have a point, how many times in everyday life if you heard someone say "Oh that's gay", something someone who is gay may or may not take offense to. The fact is all insults including gay/ puff, retard, bastard, etc are always going to insult someone somewhere but we just ignore it and get on with it. Anyhoo, it's a shame to get off topic, out of curiosity KD, what happened to Capel's imminent transfer? Last I heard he was a nailed on signing. (Serious question by the way)
  4. Jesus fucking wept, what a bunch of moaning twats, the lad hasn't even kicked a ball for us. How many players have we signed previously touted as being class that have been bitterly disappointing? Whats to say the opposite can't occur. The fact is Keegan is beginning to restore my confidence in the club and if he sees something in the lad then who are we to argue. If the lad turns out to be otter toss then so be it, but why cast doubts on him when he's yet to play for us.
  5. To be honest I can't remember, I probably read it in her somewhere, so yeah probably Deep been a dick head again...
  6. Very neat young player, wouldn't complain. What is more interesting is the amount of links coming out of Spain recently. Seems to follow a pattern: We need attacking midfielder + Main scout used to work his trade in Spain = Links to Aimar, De La Red and Xavi Prieto
  7. The intrigue is if the lad comes in, who's off? Given or Harper?
  8. Huh? It's been a long day, but chill, its all good in the hood
  9. Cheers James, saved me from the wrath of Dave the Rave
  10. Suppose I could have a scout for link...
  11. My source is actually Bellers by the way. Its just in and about the Argentinian rags today. His team won the league this year and he's after a fresh challenge, they've already brought in Barbosa from Villareal to replace him.
  12. Apparently promising keeper Mariano Andújar is about to sign in the region of £1.5 million. Remember him being rather good at Palermo a couple of years back.
  13. A lot of people including myself knew about him before E2008, and even with a couple of great games on the big stage, he's still a risk, at £25m this club simply cannot afford a risk like it. Ah, think your coming from a different angle, I wasn't looking at the perspective of Arshavin joining Newcastle, in fact I don't even think he'd take a second look at us now. I agree for that particular price it would be far too big a gamble for us. However to a club like Inter Milan, Barcelona or even some of the lesser lights like Liverpool, Fiorantina or Villareal he'd be well worth the gamble,
  14. The fact is in a world where Wayne Rooney is worth £30 million, Luka Modric is worth £18 million and Alan Smith is worth £6 million, Arshavin is worth £25 million, he has the rare ability to both score and create and the fact he is a "late bloomer" suggests the best is to come. Just because people had never previously heard of him it doesn't mean the quality wasn't there.
  15. Well I meant cheeky in the sense of Newcastle getting an early bid in. That bid may not be matched amd Zenit will only give Arshavin the choice to join us. Especially seeing as though Arsenal seem (according to the press) to be the only club in for Arshavin atm and Arsene has come out today to say they must sell their best players to buy cheaper ones for the next 17 years. Fair enough. Personally I don't think he's worth anything like £25m. Not even in today's market? The lad is top draw, has been for a couple of years now and he can only get better. The fact is in today's ridiculously over inflated market he's probably worth £25 million of anyone's money...
  16. Pathetic, to be honest other posters have come here to read about other clubs transfers not to listen to you two whinge on like a pair of fannies, can't you take it to PM?
  17. Davies signs a four year deal with Villa...
  18. Playing a 4-2-3-1: Casillas Bosingwa Pepe Marchena Zhirkov Hamit Senna Xavi Arshavin Fabregas Villa
  19. I'd Sell Smith and Duff for a fiver and a packet of pork scratchings to be honest...
  20. The lads aged 27 and he's at the peak of his career, he's hardly going to take a step down down to the likes of ourselves or Everton now is he...

    Penalties

Exciting, but very brutal. Should play extra time until a golden goal is scored...
  22. Nothing amazing, but his ability to play in a couple of positions and our general lack of depth would make him a decent squad player for the right price...

    Arda Turan?

It's Arda Turan He's a Turkish International playing for Galatasaray, you'd think you were talking about some world superstar ffs do not be deluded. even he is too ambitious a transfer for us. u think we are some top 6-7 club...anyway Gala is a much bigger club than us. Even players like Pander and Afellay will think twice joining us. we should go for players like Larsson and Kapo, better-than-what-we-have players that come cheap and that would be a step-up for them if they join us. i don't think anyone is falling for your wind up anymore only fools will fall for it cos it is not a wind-up. if we can escape relegation next season with this current squad, i will jump for joy like i did when we escape relegation last season. i am being realistic about our team in general as my nickname says in anger/jest; s*** team. but still love the club whether u believe it or not cos i dun care. I whole heartedly agree. I think I'd actually cry if we survived such a momentous relegation battle with the likes of Hull and Stoke. We need to rebuild and players likes Of Guthrie are a step up, I'm even surprised we passed up the chance to snap up Chris Commons on a free, he's a far superior player to N'Zogbia in every aspect. We need to aim to solidify ourselves like Blackburn, players like Kapo will keep the likes of Martins out the team, who has no real quality. Heavy beating are ensured week in week out from the likes of Boro and Wigan if we don't improve the midfield, brining Alan Smith into the team would add some real steel. I'm surprised we aren't targeting the lies of Nigel Quasie and Paul Konchesky for the uphill battle ahead.
  24. http://tottenhamhotspur.blogspot.com/2008/06/chimbonda-in-talks-with-newcastle.html Spurs right-back, Pascal Chimbonda, is close to a £6 million move to Newcastle. Spurs have accepted the bid placed by Keegan's side and talks are underway. If all goes as planned, Chimbonda will be a Newcastle United player.
