  1. Butt has been dreadful for weeks man. The way he let them carry the ball on then pick the pass into the box in the build up to the second goal typified him as a "defensive" midfielder. s****. Howay, he was one of our best players against Chelsea. Butt is a little past it tbf. Rumour has it his little spell of poor form resulted from "Big" Sam slipping him a little something in the showers, surely needs sacking if his man management techniques have gone so far... In fact the morning I found urine on my Corn Flakes was the same morning he was spotted in the local, it's all starting to make sense now...
  2. Pink Scarf?! What was the man thinking, he looked preposterous, boo, sss...
  3. Martins worked the channels, stretched them, created room for others. Owen needs service. That's not the point, it's the result that's important. Sam got it proper' wrong playing 4-4-2, and 4-3-3 the other week. Should try a 1-1-8 we'd score loads of goalz, I mean goals...
  4. The funny thing is, we probably would shoot up the table if only for the honeymoon period (which would get us enough points to ensure we don't get relegated). At least the crowd would like them. Exactly, then we could sack them bring Ronald McDonald in and we'd be sorted for another eight games... Just ask Sam's wife he's tried her in so many positions without satisfaction she's thinking about binning him, should crown her to be fair, good on yer' love.
  5. You know what your spot on, sack the fat cunt, too right! Then we can bring Keegan and Shearer in and shoot up the table, why have I not seen this before? It must be some kind of epiphany...
  6. Complete waste of time trying to express your views now without being shot down by the mongs and knee-jerkers. The sensible posters know booing is completely pointless and achieves nothing what-so-ever.
  7. I think it's time to get your head out of the sand rather than elaborate. I don’t think expecting to give the s**** of the league a good game once in a while is too much to ask. It's only my opinion but I expect to see an improvement next season, if it doesn't come then so be it, but please explain how doing away with the manager help at such an important time of the season? Who is available that could do a better job?
  8. Isn't it your bed time son, at the very least you could make make a sensible contribution to the debate...
  9. Time to elaborate... Kev's reaction sums it up really, I know he can be an exceptional moron but he emphasizes the point quite nicely. I mean Sam's had what? Less than half a season and the vast majority are calling for his head, it's really quite ridicules. So what were those fans calling for his head really expecting? The new manager comes in waves his wand and we're a European club again, it would be lovely but it's nativity at it's greatest. Who could have realistically done a better job? After the last three years of torture we'll do well to finish in the top half of the table, and that would be a fantastic position taking everything into consideration. We currently lie 11th in the table, closer to Europe than the danger zone, how can people complain? Don't get my wrong, I'm not satisfied with mediocrity but when are people going to accept we'll have to take the bad before the good. It's overused but we really are a team in transition. Inconstant form and inconstant results comes hand in hand with this. We are no longer a team that you can say is good enough to go and roll over the likes of Wigan on their own ground. Sam doesn't yet know his best side and probably needs to make changes in the upcoming transfer window, he needs time. The likes of Everton and Portsmouth are already a good couple of seasons ahead of us and we're only going to fall further behind if we start the whole sack the manger rigmarole all over again. The longer we go with out a trophy the more we become impatient but it takes time to build a successful side, it isn't going to happen over night and the fans calling for the managers head in such a short amount of time is outrageous.
  10. Oh dear God, no wonder this club never wins a wrapper, the fans badly need to sort themselves out...
  11. IF, IF, IF.... Being the superior team against Derby ain't hard, having a crap defence you won't win matches. ...and that's been a reoccurring problem for years now, hardly papering over cracks now is it?
  12. Of course, he can do no right. Sack the fat bastard, the Richter scale recorded a new high today due to the amount of knees jerking at full time, a clear signal it's time for Sam to go...
  13. Great a new thread... True and true though, both Duff and Emre looked promising when they came on, hopefully they can become regular fixtures in the team sooner rather than later...
  14. Was I watching a different game to the majority of the board? We were by far the superior team and if it wasn't for defensive deficiencies we would have walked away with all three points. First half we played the ball around pretty well and created openings throughout. Naturally this is irrelevant if you don't take your chances, Barnes took his but where was the closing down, you can't afford to give players with ability that much time and space. Second half began with Derby on the attack but as it played out we progressively improved until we bagged a deserved equalizer. Lets not forget we were only behind due to inept defending by Rozehnal, how can you allow a an opposition player breeze past you in such an important area of the field, it's elementary stuff. All in all it was a shocking result but the performance wasn't too bad. If it wasn't for the same old school boy errors at the back we would have been walking away with a comfortable 2-0 win.
  15. A large majority of what he says is spot on, our fans really need to get a serious grip... Playing as piss poor as we have boils down to two main factors: poor management and under performance, but at home in particular our fans can be our own worst enemy. How many times have you heard an ex-player/ manager comment on keeping the home side on a tight leash early on at St. James? It's a simple tactic and boils down to the fact that even after twenty minutes we get on the player's backs. In what way is that being productive? Getting behind the players and encouraging them them could repair what is a long-running problem but in the current situation too many fans have already made their minds up and have firmly boarded the "Sam is useless, too defensive, will never turn it around, etc..." bandwagon. I can understand the perspective of the season ticket holder who has spent his hard earned cash as well, but booing the way we do is counter-productive. How can a anyone play with any freedom what-so-ever if he knows the crowd are going to jump on his back with the first mistake he makes? Surly anger can be vented pre/post-match? It makes you wonder why so many players choose not join the club, why would they in such a ridiculously pressurized environment? Some of the so called "boo boys" boo for the sake of it anyhow, they seem to float with the majority despite knowing why they're rejecting regardless. It's about time we accepted we're not going to be winning week in, week out and we are going to have these blips in form...
  16. Pretty easy group? Depends who's in charge if you ask me... Croatia, Ukraine, Belarus and Kazakhstan won't be easy away days, a combination of piss poor away form, hostile atmospheres and Sunday league style pitches may make it more tricky than one would imagine. Having said that get a half decent manger in and it should be a walk in the park...
  17. I don't think we should have to wait a couple of seasons, if he's not looking like doing anything come May then he should go. Surely it's naive to expect any manager to turn a club in our state, thats been left to rot for so long in a season. What happens if the next manager comes in and can't turn it round in a season do we sack him, then the next and the next? Perhaps the problem is this vicious circle that starts with the fans being far too impatient. It's about time people woke up and realized it isn't our divine right to be finishing a European position and began to accept we may need to endure a couple more seasons of mediocrity before we turn it around...
  18. For fucks sake, what's your beef? "OH MY GOD WE'RE ON A BAD RUN OF FORM, QUICK SACK THE MANGER!" You've got to ask yourself what good will it do? Of course apart from satisfy the boos of a bunch of impatient tools. Of course we're playing piss poor football, but it comes hand in hand with a bad run of results, it's natural. When we were on song at home the football was beginning to look better against the West Ham and co, it works both ways. What doesn't help is impatient fans instantly jumping on the back of the manager as soon as it does go slightly pear-shaped. We need continuity, correct. We need the right manager as well, but how we will we ever know if Big Sam is the the correct choice if we sack him three months into his job, give the man a break, let him have a fair crack at the whip. If results haven't picked up after a couple of seasons then so be it, but how will we ever know if we carry on down this road we've been on far too long as it is...
  19. Bit early to be talking castration isn't it?
  20. It's difficult because the players must take as much stick as the manager in my eyes. Our game plan in the first twenty minutes for the most part was to nullify and see off the Liverpool attack, which they did a fare job of. In parts our play wasn't too bad, we had the odd passage of play and I felt that there was something to build on as the game went on. You have to call a spade a spade and Gerrard's goal was a fantastic strike, but it was a pivotal moment in the game, do we go on and try and grab the equalizer or sit back and hope we're only one down at half time? We sat back and this decision set the tone for the rest of the game. As soon as Liverpool grabbed their second after some pretty God awful defending, our heads went down and we continued to sit back, inviting pressure. The odd long ball was pumped forward but ultimately a lack of attacking prowess in midfield meant a goal scoring threat never materialized. Combine this with a disjointed defense sitting as deep as it gets and we got the trouble we were looking for. The reason I say the players must take a share of the blame too is because it was their piss poor defending which lead to the second, it was their piss poor play that meant we couldn't get out of our half and it was the players who along with Allerdyce ultimately showed a total lack of desire to claim anything from the game. The manager deserves his fare share of criticism but calling for his head is premature to say the least...

    Playing for 0-0...

To be honest I don't think we set out for a 0-0. Away from home this season we've been trying to contain teams first half and break forward second and I think we attempted this tactic today, Geremi supposedly being "the link" between midfield and defense. However, as soon as they got the second our heads went down and we rolled over. This resulted in our neat (but very rare) passages of play turning into a long ball game, which inevitably played into Liverpool's hands...

  23. He had all the ingredients there to be world class, but I think persistent injuries and a couple of careless career choices have held him back...

    Best CF In Prem?

Can't really see how Rooney is an out and out center forward, he looks more of an attacking midfielder playing off the front man. Even so I wouldn't stick him in the "Best in the league category." It's a tough call really, but how can you have such a vote without the likes of Van Persie, Anelka and maybe even the likes of McCarthy and Keane?
  25. I'd say Gallas... Now he's fully recovered from his injury niggles he's looking back to his best. To go along with his superb ability to constantly look like a defensive class act he has great pace, sound technical ability and always poses a threat from the dead ball. Ashley Cole plus five million pounds, an absolute steal...
