I’m sure he’ll get a lot of minutes this term but IMO- and depending on how he develops- he’s at least a good season away from being someone we can rely on as a first-teamer.

Think you’re overrating the lad a bit like. He’s decent for a 20 year old but he’s had 1 season at the top -level and by all accounts is one for the future. If you think he’s going to be a first-team regular and a massive difference maker for us next season then I reckon you’ll be disappointed. A lot of Reims fans on their forum don’t expect him to be a PL starter.

Doubt they’d match his wage increase tbh.

Think he’s probably on the shortlist after Botman and Ake. Seen mostly highlights but he looks like a lush player.

Yeah I reckon we’ll see: Gk- Henderson lb- Lodi/ Targett cb- Botman (or alternative) rw- Diaby (or cheaper alternative) St- Ekitike Others like DCL/Toney, Paqueta/Philips will probably be dependent on how much we get for shifting our deadwood. Should we sell ASM for 50m, I could see us then making a mega offer for Osimhen.

Definitely not slow but doesn’t seem to be super rapid tbh, which is why I find the Henry/ Mbappe comparisons a bit strange. Looks a great prospect though.

Yeah, unfortunately players of his build will always look a bit sluggish; his strength and size are obviously major asset for aerial duels etc. so you have to take the good with the bad. After keeping a closer eye on him since we’ve been linked, my only real worry with him is when he’s covering for an out of position full-back. It usually ends up massively highlighting his lack of acceleration. If Howe is looking at a more attacking left-back ala Lodi, it does concern me a bit.

I’d prefer Bremer, Ake or N’Dicka personally, but the fact that we’re out here financially bullying a Serie A winner to (hopefully) snag our priority target feels lush.

Not saying they aren’t good players, it’s just the league they’re in makes it difficult to ascertain their actual quality. I’d be very happy with either (N’kunku more so) but you’ll be overpaying for goal scoring numbers that they won’t be able to replicate in tougher leagues.

Why is Lascelles on your list? He’s one of our worst players that gets game time.

Ekitike isn’t PL-ready imo. He’ll play second fiddle to Wilson until his inevitable season-ending injury, maybe a few cameos before that.

I’ve said it before but a fit DCL is one of the best pure target men in world football. Outrageous leap and heading ability.

Yup. The PL is the fastest and most physical league in football but the French league is a close second.

Sure but that’s something you predict based on current ability and age. Still think looking at his current ability it’s a pricey risk.
