  1. €2.8M For some horrifying context, we're guaranteed at least twice as much from the Champions League this year than we made in outgoing sales from July 2020 to June 2023.
  2. New Swiss Ramble post today that focuses on how NUFC get punished for being European "newbies" in terms of Champions League revenue. We are guaranteed €30M (€15.6M participation, €9.8M TV pool, and €4.5M coefficient) before a ball is kicked compared to €67M for Man City, €57M for Man United, and €56M for Arsenal. We added €930k with yesterday's draw.
  3. By the way, can you imagine this place if our season started like that ^^? Painful just typing it.
  4. Nervous for this. We'll be expected to win and while they've ridden their luck they have stayed in games. Lost 2-1 to Forest in the 89th minute Lost 2-1 to City in the 86th minute Lost 2-1 to Spurs with goals in the 98th and 100th minutes They've also managed to score in every game but their first despite not creating all that much. We're going to need to be on it.
  5. There's a big difference between liking football and being in it. Should he have been dipping to London for a Champions League night at Stamford Bridge or the Emirates while he was bringing Bournemouth up the leagues? It's maybe a little surprising he didn't go to one by accident during his time away, but it's not 'weird.' Of all the things to bring up after a match this has to be one of the strangest.
  6. Well Joelinton has been out of form / injured and we haven't had Willock. Willock is a huge miss honestly -- really need him back. But today Tonali was easily the weak link of the three. I think he'll be much better by the second half of the season.
  7. Nothing about that is weird.
  8. I'm on board with your general point -- I don't really care today. We got a point in the Champions League, happy days. But 2.08 xG to 0.19 accurately tells the story of the game and they had multiple chances better than the Longstaff one.
  9. I think this was only true in the first few minutes when he came off, which also put Isak on the left instead of Gordon. Tonali had some decent moments when he was involved in the play and I think that's going to lead to people saying he was fine or better. But his positioning, especially in the first half, made no sense. He was like a LW at times, including out of possession. After a free kick we had just inside their half he was the last man back to try to win a header and then when Milan broke he just started jogging. The rest of the team led by Longstaff sprinted back past him. Looked like a footballer lost in his own head. My takeaway from that game is there's almost certainly something to the language / instructions problem and he is the weak link in our midfield at the moment. He's going to need time to settle.
  10. Awful is harsh, but fortunate to come away with a point. Plenty to discuss, but not going to complain much after getting a point at the San Siro in our first CL game in two decades. £900k in the bank and a huge amount of experience to take with us.
  11. I think the problem is Tonali (with the help of Gordon) solidified the left, but he was leaving gaps in the middle. Anderson was just tucking in there but it leaves Isak and Burn alone on the left.
  12. Looks like a hockey power play out there.
  13. I think we're going to be better with Tonali off.
  14. I feel like that's true of the majority of the world.
  15. May regret saying this but Pulisic on for Chukwueze doens't scare me.
  16. Bruno has been outstanding and I won't hear a word about it. He's on an island.
  17. When they show that again at HT watch Tonali. He's the last man back and then just jogs while the rest of the team races back. Not blaming any laziness, I think he's playing without any instinct.
  18. That was embarrassing. Stay on your feet.
  19. The problem is I think he might be everywhere except where he's supposed to be when we're out of possession.
  20. We were just battling for a ball in midfield (Longstaff & Bruno) and Tonali was up wide of Gordon. His positioning seems problematic.
  21. Pope to have his 'Krul in Palermo' night?
  22. No idea how Longstaff didn't get booked.
  23. His kicking is awful. Feel like it's gotten worse for some reason.
