  1. I'm very torn about this game. I think the crowd / occasion could drive us and I think we're capable of playing with them on our day, but fear they are capable of tearing us apart too.
  2. Eh, doesn't clarify because no one will really know. He's saying it's good because it's a further commitment from the owners, but it doesn't tell us anything about future spending capabilities. It doesn't really "fix" FFP unless all of that money is being used for the things you can take deductions on (which would be bold and also seems unlikely).
  3. Was it referring to the £30m extra per year you can have in losses if backed by funding or deductions from investments in things like youth and women's football, community, etc? I think pretty much anyone doing FFP math is basing it on £105m allowable losses over a three year period, so the former isn't that interesting. The latter is more interesting though as it does seem like one of the biggest FFP loopholes out there. It's quite vague and you wouldn't even really know the impact of it until accounts come out a couple years later.
  4. Eh? What does that have to do with FFP?
  5. The Philadelphia Eagles did this during the playoffs last year. My kids like this more than fireworks now:
  6. If we're still in the Champions League then we will be earning more money than we would have planned for, so it would at least be a possibility. Just making it to the Round of 16 would give us an extra £15-20M+ from the win/draw bonuses + R16 bonus. Extra broadcast / match day revenue too.
  7. I haven’t laughed that much in a long time.
  8. I think the opinion of Tonali was largely based on the first half. He was very bad.
  9. He really does need some rest at some point or he’s going to hit a wall in the spring. But we may just need to lean on him for a bit here given the injuries.
  10. Hilarious draw. Will all be worth it when we get Boro at home after this.
  11. Out of the League Cup: City Spurs Brighton Villa Brentford

    Paul Dummett

A clean sheet against the best team in the world.
  13. Somehow destroyed two people at the same time.
  14. I think there's a new problem to add to new country, new club, new language, new system --- he's definitely short on confidence.
  15. Am I not remembering right or did his decision making and kicking get considerably worse after getting sent off v. Liverpool? It was never a strength but I feel like it wasn't this bad.
  16. Paully D taking down an England international.
  17. Now that I've noticed it I can't stop seeing Tonali jogging when getting back.
  18. Feel pretty good about this one: He's in a great run of form. I hope he keeps it up, but it's a really great sign that he took his struggles and Howe's comments to heart and really put the work in over the summer. He's been excellent from the Euros through the preseason and up to now. It might be tough with injuries, but I hope we find some opportunities to rest him. Not to get too far ahead but it would be really great if he's able to end this season with a place in England's squad at the Euros.
  19. Still mad about Anderson? Two straight Premier League starts + 20 minutes at the San Siro.
