I'm assuming "just below the toe" means when looking at the foot vertically. He's probably imagining the x-ray while saying that. Sounds like a metatarsal problem or something along those lines.

He’d still be one footed and probably carry even less of a goal threat.

Some might even call it a must win.

Champions League 2023/2024: Group F (Newcastle, Milan, Dortmund, PSG)

That’s a bummer for sure. -
Said to my 6 year old “still can’t believe Newcastle scored 8 yesterday and the Dolphins (his favorite NFL team) scored 70.” His response: “but that Liverpool game” Scarred for life.

One complaint. Why is Bruno still out there?
-
This has turned into a welcome to the fucking top flight type of performance.

Forum on a knife edge. It’s a must win just from the standpoint of everyone’s mental health in here.

Glad Arturo Vidal enjoyed it:

Ehhhhhh

I'm definitely intrigued by this although, except for maybe Miley, I'm not sure we have anyone else to swap in for Bruno/Tonali.

Before we played them they had won 12 of 13 as the home team at the San Siro (the only loss since January being the CL semi v. Inter). They only lost twice in Serie A last season at home, one of them to Napoli. They beat Spurs and Napoli at home in the CL knockouts. They were missing Tomori for the 5-1 to Inter at the weekend, who also seems to be a problem for them generally given the fact they've lost five times to them this calendar year (ouch). We probably should have lost on Tuesday, but I'm not having this idea that they aren't anything special. It's not the 1990s or mid-2000's Milan, but they are a very good side at home.
-
Not what I saw ahead of time nor what I'm seeing looking at articles about it, though Milan's odds do vary a decent amount.

The xG of Arsenal-PSV was very similar to our game. Arsenal were ruthless, Milan were anything but (and Pope was good). But the betting odds implied an over 50% likelihood of Milan winning. They had scored in the first four games they played this season. I think the 5-1 clouded some perceptions. I think some are being too kind about how we did, while others are downplaying the difficulty of that game especially when you add in the fact it was our first CL game.
-
Different sport, but this is a struggling NFL QB and what he says here I think might be very similar to what Tonali's going through: "I felt like I wasn't playing my game ... kind of robotic ... not playing like myself .... Thinking less and just going out there and playing off of instincts instead of just so much info, so much data, in my head."
-
I expected (and am fine with) some regression, but I'd be a little disappointed if we can't at least finish above one of those teams to get into the Europa League.

He seems happy to just hang out at City's facilities collecting a £150k/wk and then take regular vacations to the Midlands / London / rest of the world as part of England's traveling party. Not a bad gig.

One other thought on this -- we like to use him as a second option on free kicks like the goal we scored against Villa. Depending on the location this also puts him as one of the last men back. That's how one of their breaks started last night and Longstaff must have made up 20-30 yards on him to intervene in the end. He can't be one of the last men back and jogging like it's someone else's job there.
-
I saw it. I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt. If that's just how he is then it's inexcusable to be honest. They had multiple chances last night that you could tie to his positioning and jogging.
-
There were at least two moments last night where you could apply the 'lazy' tag if you want to be harsh. But I hesitate to call it laziness -- I think it's very likely he's in his own head and the combination of a new system and a new language are getting in the way of his play.

Yes, you get one coefficient point for group stage draws and two for wins (same for both Champions League and Europa League). We get four bonus points for CL group stage participation, so our club coefficient is now 5 (it was 0). It takes years to build it up though. Let's say we win two and draw two and that's good enough to advance and then get to a QF and lose (undoubtedly a great showing). That would be 4 (groups) + 4 (two wins) + 2 (two draws) + 4 (CL Round of 16 bonus) + 1 (advancing a round). That would give us a club coefficient of 15, which is less than the 21.94 we used for this year based on country coefficient. For context, 40.5 was the bottom of Pot 3 and 76 (Arsenal) was the bottom of Pot 2. The Europa League doesn't have the group or Round of 16 participation bonuses, which are significant, but the rest is the same. It's a good competition for building up the club number. -

It's changing a bit starting next season. They are combining the coefficient and TV money into a single pool. The equal share participation amount is increasing 2.5% and performance related prizes increasing 7.5%. It will still not be balanced but some progress.
