Some spot to make a full debut for Endo. It feels like he will be a key talking point after the match, whether good or bad.

The theories in this thread. Mike Ashley ruined everyone.

*world I’ll know we’ve made it when Juventus aren’t the only black and white stripes in US stores.

What a fuck you to Castore to start promoting this new partnership almost a year in advance. I’m glad Adidas is back but mainly because of what it means commercially. Between the existing deal and the money left on the table with Castore not being able to produce shirts and not sending anything on the US tour it’s a joke. I look forward to the spring of 2026 when we see exactly how much additional income this brought in.

This is a really good comparison. Also in the sense that I think some of what they are doing and so good at is almost hard to pick up on. It can make it seem like the opponent should have done more, but it’s a mirage. For the most part they are comfortable in victory.

I thought the first half was incredibly frustrating. They were well on top and we handed them possession so many times (Joelinton x2, Isak, Botman, Pope, Trippier, Gordon, and Schar all did it). I feel like the team felt they had to be perfect and the result was sloppiness, like when you come in late at night trying to be quiet and make a ton of noise. Second half was better but there was only one small stretch with about 15 min left that I had any thought we might score. 1-1 would have been flattering IMO.

I find the general level of confidence in this thread alarming

Feels more like an unofficial rule to not have the opposition in your fantasy team.

The sell-on doesn't bother me that much as I hope he's here for a very long time, plus we got them to do an initial loan so we may have had to give in a bit. Just as long as there's no buy-back.
-
Can’t help but laugh at the language UEFA uses here. Just begging for loopholes and debate. Here’s the full thing: “Loan of a player from the lender club to the new club with a conditional obligation to buy: - If a condition is considered to be virtually certain, then the player’s registration must be recognised by both clubs as a permanent transfer from the inception of the loan agreement. - If the fulfilment of a condition cannot be assessed with sufficient certainty to trigger the permanent transfer from the inception of the loan, then the player’s registration must be recognised first as a loan and then as a permanent transfer once the condition is met.” So really it depends on where the line is with “virtually certain.” I’m guessing there’s an unofficial criteria established like 5 or 10 appearances. Wasn’t Wood only like 4 apps (in half a season)? And by all accounts that purchase went through in July 1. If Chelsea are happy booking the income in 2024/25 then seems easy enough to structure.
-
It's a good purchase but that price is right at the edge of reasonable IMO. If we're paying slightly more to avoid any buy-back or sell-on clauses then I'm even happier.
-
I'm happy about this but I'm not exactly going to be celebrating £30-35m as some incredible bargain (depending on what the actual fee is and the shape of add-ons).
-
I assume commercial will keep rising, but that feels like it will be more gradual over years instead of a big spike that fixes everything. Though there could be a big lift from a new shirt manufacturer, although there's so much conflicting info about when the Castore deal ends.
-
Yeah, I expect at some point in the next year or two a fairly barren year in terms of incomings unless 1) we make a good run in the CL this year 2) we continue to qualify for the CL and/or 3) we make a couple of big sales

Pretty much the only game all season where I will have zero expectations, which makes it a different kind of enjoyable. Interested to see if Eddie goes with the same lineup.
-
As much as I dislike Chelsea, it would be incredibly amusing (and smart) to swoop in for Hall now while the FFP spotlight is on them while leaving Liverpool crying in the corner about how unfair everything is.

Or if someone like Miley still broke through… sold in 12-18 months. Depressing to even consider. -

Not sure why this turned into a race thing. I'm excited because the most famous American on this forum was just on tv celebrating a Newcastle winner in New Jersey. Couldn't have scripted it any better. -
I'm starting to think he might end up playing quite a lot.

No, says I'm out of attachment space and need to manage my files. But I don't see a way to delete old stuff. I've had this problem before. -
