Villa posted a small profit in the last released accounts (due to the Grealish sale) whereas we had a £70M loss. Our revenue is so far behind Tottenham, let alone the others, and Spurs had a significant profit in the last accounts. I don't believe the £75M number, but I think our on-field performance and CL qualification has made people think we're much closer financially to the established 6 than we actually are.
-
It's very possible it increases each year or has escalators if we remain in the CL / Europe. I'd be kind of surprised if we signed a multi-year deal that is fixed at £25M/yr.
-
I'm pretty sure we could have done a deal with any company and people would have found a way to connect them to PIF. Obviously this is much closer to home, but there's going to be a target regardless.

He's right in the way he's often right. What's a glamorous name? What's expensive? What's a bargain when every player seems to cost £30M? Everyone can be right if you use vague enough language. At least he's learned he's being played a fool in translating whatever numbers are being purposely leaked.
-
Not at all, I don't think he should be judged until after a full preseason. There's already quite a few unhappy we bought him and I don't think anyone will blame the current owners for not spending money that's available, so I think it would quickly turn to "why did we buy Gordon if we were so handcuffed by FFP even with the Champions League?" This is my stance on Gordon...
-
Nor Bellingham. Remember that Liverpool are firmly on plan B with less money than they anticipated.
-
I think if we only spend that much there will be a lot of anger directed towards the Gordon purchase.
-
I think we will likely spend in that £125-175M range depending on who is available and people will be disappointed with various parts of the squad.

He really looks like he's being rendered on Fifa. I don't understand it.

I really want to build a website that tracks publications and journalist success rates. Some visual way to show how full of shit most of them are. Seems like too much work though.

Like this abomination?

Only updating Outgoings if there's a rumored destination? There are pretty strong rumblings about Frasier, Lewis, Hayden, and Hendrick being on their way out.
-
The Sela announcement video talks about how they will be working with the club to build a new fan zone experience around SJP.

The only way to truly mess up black and white stripes is to do something that isn't "boring." This is close to perfect IMO.

This is where it’s coming from. https://www.lequipe.fr/Football/Actualites/Lois-openda-rc-lens-suscite-les-convoitises-du-rb-leipzig/1401678 Doesn’t say we’re after Openda - it’s that’s us buying Dom could give them the money to get it done (or something like that in French).

Not battered but the Liverpool game was very even despite having 10 men. NUFC 2.04 xG to 1.87. Second half was 1.15 to 0.74. I'm still annoyed they randomly got to play us twice without Bruno, one right before the cup final and the robbery at Anfield. Literally everything going their way. The #1 thing I'm looking for when the fixtures come out is when we play them.

We're going to win the Europa League and be in Pot 1 so chill out.

Not allowed to credit Romano here - he's just a tap-in merchant with no sources.

Tickets for any Inter Miami game home or away starting in mid-July is now sold out and from what I can tell the cheapest tickets to any of them are now at least a few hundred dollars.

So much hate for the Medford Messi.

Not hopeful at the moment per this thread: https://invisioncommunity.com/forums/topic/474047-twitter-suddenly-wont-embed/

I'm guessing at the time you didn't think much of it, but that looks terrifying.

New Bailey article focused on relegated clubs mentions Maddison, Barnes, JWP, Lavia, Alvarez (£25M), Bolla-Kotchap, Adams, Aaronson, Harrison and Koch (feels like he's just naming names). Also mentions Fresneda, whose release clause has been cut in half to £17M due to relegation, and Sosa. https://www.90min.com/posts/newcastle-ready-to-raid-relegated-premier-league-clubs

Most of these complaints about London are basically general complaints about life in a very large city. You could repeat most of them for New York, for example.
