30-40 million euros according to this: https://www.milannews.it/calciomercato-milan/il-messaggero-lazio-per-milinkovic-savic-servono-30-milioni-milan-e-juventus-alla-finestra-495348 (this one doesn’t mention us)

Disagree with that. They were chased down and, in the end, comfortably surpassed by a much better team.
-
Not at all surprised but still disappointed. I agree them thrashing Real Madrid has likely had an influence even though it shouldn’t.
-
I can't stand them but not sure how Liverpool are a shit show.

Copy and paste the text?

It's one of the most continuously loud crowds I can remember hearing on TV. Probably a fair few people who turned it on and thought Stamford Bridge had a great atmosphere.

You're painting a picture of extreme dysfunction that absolves ETH of any blame. And maybe that's the closest thing to the truth, but I'd still say that unless he was outright lied to about the January budget then it seems ridiculous for him to be calling anyone out for the winter window after an obscene amount of was spent in the summer. Best case he was naive / ignorant of the club's budget and how spending £80m+ on a luxury may force trade-offs elsewhere.
-
And the one I want the most is potentially the cheapest of all (not counting Tielemans).
-
It is ridiculous that Man United brought in Weghorst to solve their goal scoring problems. It's honestly as bad as when we signed Shefki Kuqi. I'm not buying defending ETH by saying he asked for Antony when he was half the price though because I assumed he signed off on the deal in front of them.
-
I really hope we're all over that if we have any chance at all of signing him.

While true on the surface they got 30 goals from a soon-to-be 30 year old who didn't miss a league match and played all but 15 minutes of the season (which is outrageous btw). They got another 10 goals and 6 assists from a soon-to-be 31 year old. 59% of their goals came from these two players. I think in general people on here downplay the London pull too much, they have a great new stadium, significant revenue, but they really are at a crossroads.

xA per 90: 1. De Bruyne 2. Fernandes 3. Trossard 4. ASM I'm so torn about him. He obviously offers something that none of our other players do and I'd love it if he's still here when the new season starts. I've also been very impressed with his attitude despite not playing nearly as much as I'm sure he'd like to. However, there is no point keeping him here if Eddie doesn't really trust him because he could help fund a more significant contributor.

Someone put this together to show how many assists he could/should have had: https://twitter.com/LucasNUFC1/status/1663556567348936704?s=20 Looks who's on the end of three of them ... Miggy owes him some drinks.

They are part of an anti-racism campaign for Vini Jr. The Guinea match is in Barcelona and Senegal is in Lisbon. He probably won't, but kind of hope Bruno pulls out due to his ankle/wedding.
-
No, I know many wanted him to go on loan. I think I tended to agree. But I don't think it's fair now to point to his minutes and say "see.." As you say, we couldn't just send him out on loan and do nothing. We would have needed to bring someone in for cover (or alternatively it would have prevented us from selling Shelvey). I agree if we do bring in two first team quality CMs then he should go on loan. I'm not convinced that's going to happen though - I think it's very likely to just be one and then maybe a second who's a youngster.

Champions League 2023/2024: Group F (Newcastle, Milan, Dortmund, PSG)

In fairness I think there were people on here saying they really hoped they wouldn't play the anthem after we qualified. -
We played the same midfield three almost every week. If one of them was unavailable the first change was moving Joelinton to midfield. Seems harsh to judge him based on the fact he didn't break into the first XI when we have a manager who doesn't make a habit of unforced rotation. This is also why it's hindsight to say he should have been on loan because of the minutes he got. We were very fortunate to get through most of the season playing some combination of the same 4 players almost every week. Anderson could have easily been needed more than he was.
-
I am irrationally happy for Big Joe.
-
But that's you only judging him on what we've seen. The coaching staff sees him every day. You're assuming we'll bring in two CMs, but maybe we only get one because they think he (or, less likely, Miley) is ready. Or maybe the second one is another youngster and we let those three fight for a role.
-
There are pros and cons to each obviously but one point that should not be overlooked is the training we put our players through. See Gordon’s interview for the latest evidence of the demands. Anderson will clearly have benefitted from that. We need to find some clubs where players will go out on loan and not come back in worse shape than the rest of the squad.

From 2013/14 season. My personal favorite is the morgue aka physio room...
-
Miggy v Fulham or Maxi is the best, but my favorite is Isak's first v. Spurs. The classy roll by Bruno, the unreal first time ball by Willock, and then a perfect 1v1 finish. The rout was truly on at that point. On my deathbed I'm going to think of my wife, my kids, and that pass by Willock.
-
That's pretty incredible. We're obviously very limited by the current footprint. I walked through the training ground in 2013 - they've done an excellent job modernizing it both inside and out.

There are already 7 confirmed pot 3/4 clubs with a higher coefficient than us. We are not getting into pot 3.
