  1. Yes, that would be the definition of having patience.
  2. I think everyone's missing the point on what we (and 19 others) voted for recently. The vote that just happened didn't introduce any new rules. It was a vote to proceed with determining a new system and voting on it by June. It was essentially a vote against the current system and the strict form of punishment. Our goal will be to qualify for one of the three European competitions each season, which means we're going to be required to meet those regulations. A system that mirrors those rules, possibly with some more leeway, and does away with points deductions as its initial and primary form of punishment would be a vast improvement.
  3. I agree with a lot of what you say but I can’t get behind using wages as the benchmark for grading performance and then outright dismissing one of the clubs with massively higher wages. It doesn’t work that way, especially when they brought in a new manager and expectations were raised.
  4. If that was Trippier on the right and Tino on the left I’d be intrigued.
  5. Wish they drew the semis before this like the CL. If that’s actually the team I don’t even know what I’m looking at. Bummer if Tino is injured, but not surprising after the kicking Chelsea gave him.
  6. Just keep him on gardening leave for 18 months if it’s anything below £10m.
  7. The draws have changed the math with Germany and England now having higher max scores than Italy, though both can't hit their max since there are two head-to-head matchups. If either West Ham or Arsenal win I think it will be pretty much job done for England.
  8. Europa League draw very intriguing. Liverpool can knock out Atalanta. One of Roma or Milan will be gone. And West Ham v Leverkusen.
  9. 1. Italy, 17.714 2. Germany, 16.357 3. England, 16.250 4. France, 14.750 5. Spain, 14.187 England’s max score is now only slightly below Italy’s. It would all be decided if Leverkusen had gone out. The CL draw certainly makes things interesting. Two German semifinalists with no English teams would change everything.
  10. That’s the working assumption. In keeping with how the entire sport is run there doesn’t appear to be any definitive statement and all rules may be made on the spot.
  11. Outstanding results for England, although Leverkusen is hilarious. Winning on aggregate 5-4 with three of their goals coming in added time and erasing 2-0 deficits in both. Outrageous.
  12. Coefficients do seem to be less of a disadvantage in the new format and they have reduced the % of the money that is based on coefficients. There's at least some recognition that it's a stupid setup.
  13. Could be. It'd be great if that number they shared was only the UEFA payments.
  14. £37m per the club's notes in the accounts. Doesn't specify if that is only UEFA money or also includes matchday income for those games, but I've been assuming it's everything as it lines up better with other estimates.
  15. The Euros are going to be too soon for him, but he should have a good chance at carving out a fullback spot heading towards 2026.
  16. Wish there was a video of him getting the text and "telling a few of the lads."
  17. Just that his durability was fueled by a massive painkiller addiction.
  18. "How much have injuries ruined the competition? There are so many games, has that diluted the competition? Imagine Milan and Newcastle at full strength," she said.
  19. I mean… not exactly the best example.
  20. Who besides Keys? His comments have fueled a lot of content.
